Draftstars preview: Sunday NRL fixtures

The SC Spy had monster payouts from the opening two rounds, here's his Draftstars preview for the Sunday fixtures.

DraftStars preview

Hey Troops,

Let’s take a little look at the stand out options for Daily Fantasy this week on Draftstars.com.au.

I’ll break down a couple of big guns I think are must-haves and then a few other value options who may get you into the cash.

I was lucky enough to win $1000k from two $2 outlays in the first two rounds of the year, so here’s hoping the run can continue in Round 3.

PANTHERS v KNIGHTS

This one is hard to predict, with Nathan Cleary and Kalyn Ponga out it breaks the game wide open. It should be a high scoring affair regardless, but could easily go either way. Largely due to the injuries, there’s plenty of value in this one and it shouldn’t be too hard fitting a strong side into your salary cap.

GUNS

Connor Watson

Starting at hooker, Watson could go huge. He’s a bit of a freak, will bust a stack of tackles while making them at number 9.

VALUE

Jarome Luai

With Cleary out, Luai will be the dominant half and hopefully kicks goals. He’s exceptional value at $9,720 and is straight in.

Josh Mansour

At just $8,970 Mansour is great value. He has a huge work ethic and can hopefully bag a try or two.

Stephen Crichton

Brent Naden is out, meaning Crichton starts and is a steal at the price, the kid is a serious talent.

COMBINATION

Viliame Kikau and Jarome Luai

Look no further than this pairing. If Luai can isolate his opposing halfback and get big Billy steaming onto the ball he’ll be near unstoppable. Cash in…

SEA EAGLES v BULLDOGS

This game is very difficult as it could easily go one of two ways. Manly could blow the Dogs out of the park and pile on the points. However, we’ve see the Dogs tie and time again defy critics with resilient performances. It’s a sunny Sunday in Sydney, I’m backing Manly’s forward pack to power over the Dogs and win comfortably.

GUNS

Tom Trbojevic

At $12,530 Tommy T comes in fairly cheap and is the must-have player in this fixture. If the score blows out he’ll go big. Daly Cherry-Evans is extremely expensive at $16,420 and is probably worth avoiding to spend elsewhere, despite his obvious upside.

Addin Fonua-Blake

AFB played reduced minutes in opening weeks due to pre-season surgery. He’ll be fit and firing on return and should get through a stack of work.

VALUE

Moses Suli

Draftstars rewards tackles, runs and tackle breaks fairly prominently, and Suli was ticking all three of these boxes in the opening rounds. He comes in dirt cheap at $8,860 and will score well if he can jag an attacking stat to boost his score.

Adam Elliott

Elliott is playing big minutes at lock this year, and will continue to do so with Corey Harawira-Naera out of the back-row rotation. At just $11,080 he’s far cheaper than his second-row counterparts and will score well.

Reimis Smith

Smith has a strong work ethic and his quick darting runs should benefit his tackle breaks and metres with a quicker play-the-ball.

COMBINATION

Curtis Sironen and Moses Suli

I’m hoping Curtis Sironen and Moses Suli can link upon the right edge. Sironen has a handy offload, if it finds Suli and results in a try it’ll be huge points for two bargain buys.
