Draft Breakdown: Waiver-wire, trade targets

We take a look at the best options to grab from the wires, and look at players to target in a trade with rivals.

Draft Breakdown

Almost all of last week’s targets posted decent scores, with Ryan Sutton being the only exception.

Sutton is still a potential prospect as he played decent minutes last week.

Onto another week and another stack of injuries and suspensions that affect our Draft players.

WAIVER-WIRE TARGETS

Siliva Havili (HOK/2RF)

With Hodgson out for the season Havili will likely take over the hooker role.

Whilst he won’t be an 80-minute hooker, sharing time with Tom Starling, he can produce decent points in that time.

Last year when Hodgo was out, Havili averaged 48 over three games at hooker.

He loves to run from dummy half and will have more space to run with these changes.

Ryan Hall and Matt Ikuvalu (CTW) – or anyone with a Roosters jersey

Ikuvalu is obviously going to be hot property if named again this week.

Ryan Hall remains a great prospect and will see some tries shortly.

Any backline Rooster available should be picked up given the easy draw the Roosters have after this week.

Jacon Safiti (FRF/2RF)

Jacob has been playing good footy and emerging from his brother’s shadow.

With Daniel out with a short-term knee injury he should see good minutes.

Brent Naden (CTW)

Naden looks to have secured a spot outside Cleary with injuries to Dean Whare and Brian To’o.

The Panthers are playing some good attacking footy and any piece of the backline will be a good play most weeks.

Jordan Rapana (CTW)

Bailey Simmonson has been ruled out for the season and that should see Rapana retain the right wing spot.

Rapana has good base and should benefit from the kicks and cutout passes from George Williams.

Mikaele Ravalawa (CTW)

Ravalawa comes up against the Dogs this week and is a good plug and play.

He is playing outside Norman and the in-form Lomax and should see decent ball against the Dogs shaky left side defence.

TRADE IN TARGETS

Ben Hunt (HFB)

Hunt played his first 80-minute game at hooker last week and looked great from both an NRL and a SuperCoach perspective.

More importantly, the Dragons look great with him at hooker and they should stick with this spine for the foreseeable future.

He is a great HFB option as his base will prevent any low scores and has some serious attacking potential on top of that base.

TRADE OUT TARGETS

Patrick Carrigan (FRF/2RF)

Carrigan has been getting great minutes, playing the whole game last week.

The return of Matt Lodge and Ofa in the coming weeks will impact on his minutes.

Carrigan is one of my favourites but now is a great time to sell high for him.

Ken Maumalo (CTW)

Maumalo has been good this year coming off the back of a career year last year.

Unfortunately, he looks all but assured to return home after this round and won’t play again this season.

Get what you can for him.

Matthew Eisenhuth (FRF/2RF)

Eisenhuth has been massive in his only four games of the year, averaging 70PPG.

Twal is set to return this week and will take a huge chunk of Eisenhuth’s minutes.
