Thursday, 7.50pm, WIN Stadium, Wollongong
Dragons: 1. Matt Dufty 2. Jordan Pereira 3. Euan Aitken 4. Zac Lomax 5. Mikaele Ravalawa 6. Ben Hunt 7. Adam Clune 8. Blake Lawrie 9. Cameron McInnes 10. Paul Vaughan 11. Tyson Frizell 12. Tariq Sims 13. Jackson Ford
Bench: 14. Tristan Sailor 15. Josh Kerr 16. Trent Merrin 17. Tyrell Fuimaono
Reserves: 18. Jacob Host 19. Corey Norman 20. Jason Saab 21. Kaide Ellis
Analysis: I’d suggest Matt Dufty was a reasonable POD play with a 3RA of 88PPG, but the Dragons face the Roosters and Eels over the next fortnight so I can’t advise it.
Our man Dezzy Creek called the return of Euan Aitken to SuperCoach glory over the past few weeks and he’s repaid the faith in droves with a 5RA of 78PPG.
However, with the upcoming draw and an injury concern out of last week’s game I won’t be going near. Cam McInnes has hit the skids by his standards, but I’ll be holding firm.
He’s still playing 80 minutes, but unfortunately he won’t return to lock (Norman dropped) as I think he racks up more runs and attacking stats as a result. He’s still as solid as a rock, perhaps without the upside of some of his 2RF counterparts though. Although I certainly wouldn’t rush to trade in.
Jackson Ford is one to consider after excelling in his starting lock role. Job security is the obvious issue and a slightly awkward $270k price tag. I think at this stage of the year it’s time for a guns and genuine cheapie approach.
Roosters: 1. James Tedesco 2. Ryan Hall 3. Josh Morris 4. Joseph Manu 5. Matt Ikuvala 6. Luke Keary 7. Lachlan Lam 8. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves 9. Jake Friend 10. Siosiua Taukeiaho 11. Sitili Tupouniua 12. Mitchell Aubusson 13. Isaac Liu
Bench: 14. Drew Hutchinson 15. Poasa Faamausili 16. Nat Butcher 17. Lindsay Collins
Reserves: 18. Daniel Fifita 19. Christian Tuipulotu 20. Max Bailey 21. Egan Butcher
Analysis: The Roosters have seriously regressed over the past month. I put it down to some mid-season complacency against weaker opposition, while the Titans and Warriors definitely took advantage of it and aimed up big time knowing what the repercussions would have been if they didn’t.
You know Teddy is good when he scores 80 and it’s considered a major flop by his standards. I’ll likely be skippering this week, hopefully a few stay off due to recent form of the Roosters and the fact it’s a Thursday night game.
However, there’s certainly other options to consider at the moment which is a refreshing change. Ryan Hall was a good buy based on a Roosters hammering, but that didn’t come, making him a flop.
Mitch Aubusson played 80 minutes and bagged a try for 76 points. With no Angus Crichton or Boyd Cordner named this should continue for at least another week.
He’s now $289k with a -16 breakeven and is a decent play in CTW again this week. Wait for more clarification over Boyd Cordner and Angus Crichton before considering as he’s now probably a touch risky.
Condolences to those who jumped on Luke Keary and Kyle Flanagan for the ‘easy’ run. They’re both struggling with 3RA’s of 36 and 47PPG respectively. I was mighty close to joining that dud party.
Flanagan is out and won’t have a chance to make up for his poor scoring with another nice match up this week.
Matt Ikuvalu owners would have been thrilled to see the winger bust out 71 points without a try or try assist. He had a mammoth 26 runs in the clash and is a hold despite the three figure breakeven.
SEA EAGLES v WARRIORS
Friday, 6pm, Lottoland, Sydney
Sea Eagles: 1. Brendan Elliot 2. Jorge Taufua 3. Tevita Funa 4. Moses Suli 5. Reuben Garrick 6. Cade Cust 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 9. Danny Levi 10. Martin Taupau 11. Joel Thompson 12. Curtis Sironen 13. Jake Trbojevic
Bench: 14. Lachlan Croker 15. Corey Waddell 16. Sean Keppie 17. Taniela Paseka
Reserves: 18. Haumole Olakau’atu 19. Abbas Miski 20. Morgan Boyle 21. Albert Hopoate
Analysis: DCE tonned up and continues to thrive in Tommy Trbojevic’s absence. Manly scored twice and he assisted both, and while certainly an affordable POD at $554k, I still think there’s better options in the halves mainly due to the lack of goal-kicking.
Addin Fonua-Blake scored 59 in 54 minutes and isn’t quite hitting his expectations at the moment. Jake Trbojevic is roaring back to life in SuperCoach with 91 points against Penrith including a try. He had 41 tackles, 17 runs and now has a 3RA of 77PPG.
He’s an option, but he still lacks the ceiling to match the best 2RF options as we saw with his weekend score boosted by the try and linebreak.
Anyone who jumped on a bargain priced Marty Taupau earned themselves $120k, but it’s time to move him onto a gun either this week or next with a breakeven of 79.
Warriors: 1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 2. Patrick Herbert 3. Adam Pompeye 4. Peta Hiku 5. George Jennings 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Chanel Harris-Tavita 8. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown 9. Karl Lawton 10. Jack Hethrington 11. Eliesa Katoa 12. Tohu Harris 13. Jazz Tevaga
Bench: 14. Wayde Egan 15. Adam Blair 16. Daniel Alvaro 17. Lachlan Burr
Reserves: 18. Isaiah Papali’i 20. Adam Keighran 21. Jack Murchie 22. Gerard Beale
Analysis: Despite extremely difficult circumstances, the Warriors are in form in a major credit to the organisation and playing group. The form has brought some SuperCoach relevance again.
Jazz Tevaga is a serious Cam Smith replacement having scored 84 points in 52 minutes with six offloads, 37 tackles and 17 runs.
The minutes are concern, but he’s proven to be a PPM beast, so hopefully he kicks up to 60+ minutes. Tohu Harris hit back with 82 points, although it did include a try. I prefer the upside of Jazz out of the two. His injury history does concern me though.
Embed from Getty ImagesRABBITOHS v BRONCOS
Friday, 7.55pm, ANZ Stadium, Sydney
Rabbitohs: 1. Latrell Mitchell 2. Jaxson Paulo 3. Campbell Graham 4. Dane Gagai 5. Alex Johnston 6. Cody Walker 7. Adam Reynolds 8. Tevita Tatola 9. Damien Cook 10. Thomas Burgess 11. Jaydn Su’A 12. Bayley Sironen 13. Cam Murray
Bench: 14. Mark Nicholls 15. Liam Knight 16. Patrick Mago 17. Keaon Koloamatangi
Reserves: 18. Jack Johns 19. Corey Allan 20. Kurt Dillon 21. Troy Dargan
Analysis: South Sydney face the Broncos and Cowboys over the next fortnight. Latrell Mitchell delivered at a cheap price for POD hunters with 74 points.
He remains an option with the nice run of games to come, but there’s so much risk involved. He ran just 7 times against the Dragons, with almost his entire score made up of attacking stats.
Cody Walker was also a hyped POD last week, he went massive with 113 points and is still available at an affordable $494k for those interested. Damien Cook has flopped over the past two weeks with scores of 42 and 52.
He’ll be a very popular option for Cam Smith, although Tevaga makes things extremely interesting. Cam Murray disappointed for plenty of new owners with 60 points.
He played 80 minutes for the first time this year due to the injuries. The reduction in work rate was due to an early shift to an edge where he requires an attacking stat to boost his numbers to keeper level. He should be far better back at lock this week, hopefully the minutes stay somewhat inflated.
Broncos: 1. Darius Boyd 2. Richard Kennar 3. Kotoni Staggs 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Xavier Coates 6. Brodie Croft 7. Tom Dearden 8. Tom Flegler 9. Jake Turpin 10. Payne Haas 11. David Fifita 12. Tevita Pangai Jnr 13. Pat Carrigan
Bench: 14. Issac Luke 15. Rhys Kennedy 16. Joe Ofahengaue 17. Ben Te’o
Reserves: 18. Corey Paix 19. Ethan Bullemor 20. Matt Lodge 21. Jesse Arthars
Analysis: Kotoni Staggs reminded us of his scoring ability with a pair of tries and three conversions lifting him to 120 points.
He doesn’t have anything near the base of the best CTWs, but his attacking upside is as good as any. At under $500k he’s a serious option this week, although upcoming games against the Rabbitohs and Raiders is somewhat of a deterrent.
Pat Carrigan is a behemoth at the moment, scoring 80 in 80 minutes to up his 5RA to 74PPG. That’s keeper level status, but he is in doubt for this week’s game so watch for late mail throughout the week.
The return of David Fifita is seeing Brisbane’s pack nearing full strength, so I don’t expect Carrigan’s minutes to keep up as there’s too much competition for spots.
Fifita hasn’t played in many months, so let’s cool our jets and take a look at how he returns before jumping on. Brisbane’s season is over, and he’s moving on next year, so Anthony Seibold may be tempted to reduce his regular 80 minute role, although the coach also needs wins to save his job so Fifita may go the distance.
Embed from Getty ImagesSTORM v BULLDOGS
Saturday, 3pm, Sunshine Coast Stadium
Storm: 1. Nicho Hynes 2. Suliasi Vunivalu 3. Tom Eisenhuth 4. Justin Olam 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Jesse Bromwich 9. Brandon Smith 10. Christian Welch 11. Felise Kaufusi 12. Kenneath Bromwich 13. Dale Finucane
Bench: 14. Ryley Jacks 15. Tino Faasuamaleaui 16. Albert Vete 17. Nelson Asofa-Solomona
Reserves: 18. Darryn Schonig 19. Chris Lewis 20. Cooper Johns 21. Sandor Earl
Analysis: Melbourne could put a score on the gritty Dogs in dry conditions up north, so I’d be holding for one more week before upgrading ahead of games against the Roosters and Eels.
Although there are a few key outs which will hurt them plenty. Ryan Papenhuyzen is one of them who has been rested which is a blow for owners who would have fancied him to go large in this one. He’s an easy swap to someone like Kalyn Ponga.
Cam Munster is a serious captaincy option this week, particularly with key attacking contingent Papy and Cam Smith out.
Smith will miss several weeks and is a sell, at least we have $727k to play with. At $453k his replacement Brandon Smith becomes an interesting option if Smith is out for over two weeks.
It’s tough as Brandon has never really played a big minute role for the club, so how many minutes does he get? If we know he’s playing 80 he’d be a great buy.
He did play 75 minutes at hooker in Round 8 against the Roosters with Cam Smith in the halves. He scored 66 with 62 in base against the reigning premiers, pretty enticing numbers.
Tino Faasuamaleaui has back-to-back tons and is clearly a future star. Many will be tempted, but with two 80-minute edge back-rowers and a 60+ minute lock I’m not sure he gets the minutes to warrant buying.
Congrats to those who jumped on with a surprising 10% ownership. He’s the ultimate POD play, but there’s risk. He’s been a 40-50 minute play for Craig Bellamy when no injuries strike, in which case he’s not worth the $516k, but maybe he’s forced his coach to play him bigger minutes with the form?
Tough call, but a little too much risk for me. He has the potential to be among the top three SuperCoach players next year if playing big minutes.
Bulldogs: 1. Nick Meaney 2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 3. Tim Lafai 4. Jake Averillo 5. Marcelo Montoya 6. Kieran Foran 7. Lachlan Lewis 8. Ofahiki Ogden 9. Sione Katoa 10. Dylan Napa 11. Josh Jackson 12. Raymond Faitala-Mariner 13. Luke Thompson
Bench: 14. Jeremy Marshall-King 15. Aiden Tolman 16. Sauaso Sue 17. Reimis Smith
Reserves: 19. Kerrod Holland 20. Renouf To’omaga 21. Chris Smith 22. Matt Doorey
Analysis: RFM continues to allow the Dogs to cling to SuperCoach relevance. He scored his fourth try in five weeks to push his 5RA to 82PPG.
Congrats to those that jumped on at under $400k when he returned to 80 minutes, but there’s a little too much try-scoring reliance in his scores for mine.
Aiden Tolman is getting it done with another 78 points including 42 tackles, 21 runs, two offloads and one extremely stupid quick tap.
However, he’s been benched this week.
KNIGHTS v TIGERS
Saturday, 5.30pm, McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle
Knights: 1. Kalyn Ponga 2. Starford To’a 3. Enari Tuala 4. Gehamat Shibasaki 5. Hymel Hunt 6. Blake Green 7. Mitchell Pearce 8. David Klemmer 9. Kurt Mann 10. Jacob Saifiti 11. Lachlan Fitzgibbon 12. Aidan Guerra 13. Mitchell Barnett
Bench: 14. Phoenix Crossland 15. Josh King 16. Herman Ese’ese 17. Brodie Jones
Reserves: 18. Chris Randall 19. Tex Hoy 20. Mason Lino 21. Jirah Momoisea
Analysis: Newcastle face the Tigers, Sea Eagles, Cowboys and Warriors over the next month. Kalyn Ponga is ticking along decently with a 3RA of 76PPG.
At $552k I think he’s an excellent buy and am tipping him to be onwards of $700k in a month’s time.
The injured Bradman Best is a sell for plenty who held, at least you get a decent $458k to spend rather than his prior sub-$400k price tag.
As tipped, David Klemmer regressed to just 50 points in 51 minutes, a win for the bold predictions (less than 55)! I’m repeating myself over and over, but I’m just not sold on him at all with those minutes. Paulo, Papa, AFB are all better options for mine.
I’m not exactly sure what to make of Kurt Mann at hooker as we don’t have much of a sample to work with. He shifted there early in the game against the Bulldogs and made a mountain of tackles.
His running game has been quality this season, so I can’t see Adam O’Brien limiting this in his new role. Of course he’ll run less, but with the monster pack rolling forward he may pick up some easy try-assists.
His base for a CTW will be enormous, but to be fair it’s already 37BPG which is huge. His attacking stats will reduce, so it’ll be interesting to see his output overall.
Tigers: 1. Adam Doueihi 2. David Nofoaluma 3. Joey Leilua 4. Tommy Talau 5. Asu Kepaoa 6. Luke Brooks 7. Benji Marshall 8. Josh Aloiai 9. Moses Mbye 10. Russell Packer 11. Luciano Leilua 12. Sam McIntyre 13. Matt Eisenhuth
Bench: 14. Thomas Mikaele 15. Shawn Blore 16. Chris Lawrence 17. Billy Walters
Reserves: 18. Alex Seyfarth 19. Luke Garner 20. Josh Reynolds 21. Elijah Taylor
Analysis: Absolute carnage at the Tigers across the entire team, with Harry Grant a MAJOR omission in a week we’ve already lost Cam Smith.
I haven’t seen any strong word on Grant, so let’s all take a deep breath and reassess when more info comes to light.
Early reports suggest it’s a knee injury, but not serious.
I recruited David Nofoaluma last week and man it was a relief to finally be an owner as I watched him cross for an early try.
Unfortunately he couldn’t go on with it, finishing with a solid 67 points. He remains a great buy, but with a toughish match up this week and a breakeven of 88 it can wait a week if needed. Note the Tigers also have a brutal run home come head-to-head finals.
Tommy Talau scored a try to finish with 56 points and a breakeven of 19. He can be moved on in coming weeks, but there’s no urgency.
Luciano Leilua needed a very classy try-assist to elevate his score to 63. At just under $600k he’s peaked in price and can be moved onto a genuine gun.
A sternum injury kept Twal to 51 points in 50 minutes on return. He’s out this week as a result of the injury, although fresh word says he may have a minor rib injury. He’s believed to be right next week.
Billy Walters has been bench and has also peaked at $366k and can be cashed in.
Embed from Getty ImagesPANTHERS v RAIDERS
Saturday, 7.35pm, Panthers Stadium, Penrith
Panthers: 1. Caleb Aekins 2. Josh Mansour 3. Brent Naden 4. Stephen Crichton 5. Malakai Watene-Zelezniak 6. Jarome Luai 7. Nathan Cleary 8. James Tamou 9. Api Koroisau 10. James Fisher-Harris 11. Viliame Kikau 12. Liam Martin 13. Isaah Yeo
Bench: 14. Tyrone May 15. Spencer Leniu 16. Moses Leota 17. Zane Tetevano
Reserves: 18. Mitch Kenny 19. Matt Burton 19. Billy Burns 20. Daine Laurie
Analysis: After this week, Penrith begin a very friendly run home including: Warriors, Sharks, Tigers, Broncos, Eels, Cowboys and Bulldogs. This makes all their attackers serious options.
Stephen Crichton has just killed poor old Josh Mansour’s output, he now has a 5RA of 50PPG after a blistering start to the year. Crichton on the other hand scored again for 63 points.
He remains a decent option going forward. Jarome Luai has peaked at $470k and can be cashed in for any number of options, with Mitch Moses the obvious pick if funds are an issue.
I won’t elaborate on Nathan Cleary following his 138. He’s a must-have and is a great captaincy option for the rest of the year, although against a gritty Raiders outfit in possible wet weather I’d avoid this week.
Api Koroisau returned from injury with a try and 88 points, and funnily enough is a POD option with the run home with everyone trading out when he was hurt.
If not for injury Charlie Staines would have been the most traded in player this week with arguably the lowest breakeven I’ve ever seen, -161.
Keep an eye on popular ’nuff’ Daine Laurie who has been named on the extended bench.
Raiders: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Jordan Rapana 3. Jarrod Croker 4. Curtis Scott 5. Nick Cotric 6. Jack Wighton 7. George Williams 8. Josh Papalii 9. Siliva Havili 10. Dunamis Lui 11. John Bateman 12. Elliott Whitehead 13. Hudson Young
Bench: 14. Tom Starling 15. Joseph Tapine 16. Ryan Sutton 17. Corey Harawira-Naera
Reserves: 18. Sam Williams 19. Michael Oldfield 20. Kai O’Donnell 21. Matt Frawley
Analysis: All eyes were on the return of Big Jonneh Bateman! And boy didn’t he deliver. 88 points to his name, but more importantly it looked like he hadn’t missed a beat in 80 minutes of game time.
He immediately becomes a serious POD option, which is made even more enticing with Canberra’s upcoming games against the Broncos, Titans and Bulldogs after this week’s tough clash. Josh Papalii remains a solid FRF option with big upside. He has a 5RA of 71PPG.
Embed from Getty ImagesTITANS v COWBOYS
Sunday, 2pm, Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast
Titans: 1. AJ Brimson 2. Anthony Don 3. Brian Kelly 4. Dale Copley 5. Phillip Sami 6. Ash Taylor 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Nathan Peats 10. Jaimin Jolliffe 11. Kevin Proctor 12. Keegan Hipgrave 13. Jai Arrow
Bench: 14. Tanah Boyd 15. Tyrone Peachey 16. Jarrod Wallace 17. Sam Lisone
Reserves: 18. Corey Thompson 19. Jai Whitbread 20. Erin Clark 21. Beau Fermor
Analysis: The Titans are finally SuperCoach relevant, but only as a result of stuffing up our dream match up with the Roosters by showing up for the clash…
Cowboys: 1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 2. Kyle Feldt 3. Tom Opacic 4. Connelly Lemuelu 5. Justin O’Neill 6. Ben Hampton 7. Michael Morgan 8. Josh McGuire 9. Reece Robson 10. Jordan McLean 11. Mitchell Dunn 12. Coen Hess 13. Jason Taumalolo
Bench: 14. Jake Granville 15. Tom Gilbert 16. Emre Pere 17. Francis Molo
Reserves: 18. Shane Wright 19. Jake Clifford 20. Esan Marsters 21. Corey Jenson
Analysis: It’s no longer Hammer Time with a breakeven of 61 thanks to a score of just 15 against Canberra. The match up is enticing, so hold a week if you have other issues, but I think he’s a sell at a $152k profit.
Jason Taumalolo finally bagged his second bit of meat for the year, pushing him about the century mark for 109 points in 64 minutes. He’s a captaincy option against the Titans.
Just to make the hooking conundrum even harder, Jake Granville has been named on the bench which all but rules out Reece Robson as a major POD play.
Michael Morgan makes his long-awaited return from injury.
Embed from Getty ImagesSHARKS v EELS
Sunday, 4.05pm, Jubilee Stadium, Sydney
Sharks: 1. Will Kennedy 2. Sione Katoa 3. Josh Dugan 4. Jesse Ramien 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Matt Moylan 7. Shaun Johnson 8. Braden Hamlin-Uele 9. Blayke Brailey 10. Aaron Woods 11. Siosifa Talakai 12. Wade Graham 13. Toby Rudolf
Bench: 14. Connor Tracey 15. Jack Williams 16. Teig Wilton 17. Royce Hunt
Reserves: 18. Scott Sorensen 19. Briton Nikora 20. Braydon Trindall 21. Bryson Goodwin
Analysis: Shaun Johnson continued his form with another solid 70 point score to push his 3RA to 94PPG. The clash against the Eels will be a true test of his form.
I don’t think he’s a must-have, but the clash with the Titans next week is one to keep an eye on. Jackson Ferris impressed on debut with 66 points but was injured in the win.
Outside Sione Katoa who remains an option, more so for next week, there’s not a heap going on at the Sharks.
Briton Nikora has been axed.
Eels: 1. Clint Gutherson 2. Maika Sivo 3. Michael Jennings 4. Waqa Blake 5. Blake Ferguson 6. Dylan Brown 7. Mitchell Moses 8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Junior Paulo 11. Shaun Lane 12. Marata Niukore 13. Nathan Brown
Bench: 14. Andrew Davey 15. Ray Stone 16. Kane Evans 17. Oregon Kaufusi
Reserves: 18. Brad Takairangi 19. Stefano Utoikamanu 20. David Gower 21. Jai Field
Analysis: King Gutho continued his strong form with 67 points. I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t think he was a keeper without the goal-kicking duties, and while I’ll stick by it, he’s proving me wrong for the time being.
I felt for Maika Sivo owners who recruited the star Fijian for the nice Doggies match up only to see him score 7 points, that’s heavy…
Big Maika had 7 runs, with only one of them being over 8m for two points!!! Unless you really need to, I wouldn’t sell and here’s why.
He’s an underwhelming $472k, but surely you just carry him as a fifth CTW? Play him for match ups against the Dragons, Warriors and Broncos on the run home.
I don’t begrudge anyone selling, particularly as you’d rightly be filthy, but that’d be my move if I had a strong CTW without him. Still at $411k, Mitch Moses is a terrific trade in this week, you can make cash going Luai to him. Winning!
He’s scored 80 and 57 since returning from injury. I was hesitant as he admitted last week he needs to manage his troublesome calf for the remainder of the season, but at the price he’s hard to pass up.
I certainly wouldn’t play every week in my 17, but he’s the perfect man for match up based games.
Junior Paulo is on a tear, shaking off any concern of back spasms for 103 points. He’s averaged 63MPG over the past three weeks, and has evolved his attacking side which is significant for his ceiling.
I really like him as a buy this week at an affordable $574k.
Still no Ryan Matterson which is a huge blow for those who held in a week where carnage is the main order.

Who will kick for the roosters now?
TKO, then likely Teddy in the 20 odd minutes he’s off. The latter isn’t confirmed though.
