With the double game weeks over and done with, I feel like the shackles can come off and we can really target some guilt-free PODs and guns without the fear of bypassing a player who will double up on points.
The rollercoaster season for the Cooma Stallions continued in Round 10 with a strong score of 1,274 to be ranked 481 for the round, and back into 1,402 overall.
It’s a much better position, and I’m fairly happy with the guns I have, my team value, and a few nice PODs already selected, so hopefully this is the round to break into the top 1,000.
Let’s take a look at SuperCoach Round 11.

4:05PM: Hurricanes v Scorchers, Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
Forecast: Mostly sunny, 26 degrees, 0% chance of rain.
7:15PM: Sixers v Thunder, Adelaide Oval
Forecast: Sunny, 32 degrees, 0% of rain.
LOOKING AHEAD
No need to look too far, the double game weeks and byes are finished for the season!
That means we have the entire competition to consider without worrying about doubling up on points.
It’s now simply a case of locking in the best players in SuperCoach, while ideally trying to sneak in a few PODs to ensure you have some differential to rivals in order to make ground overall.
Look ahead at teams that play early in the round who you can utilise their players for vice-captain and auto-emergency loopholes.
The Melbourne Stars are a prime candidate as they play in game one, two and four in the final three rounds and have plenty of great options.
The Melbourne Renegades are even better with the first, first and third game of the round, but obviously have fewer decent trade targets.
The Sydney Sixers play in the final game of each round, so if you’re after a perfect nuff (non-player) to recruit to free up cash and use for the loopholes, look no further than Lawrence Neil-Smith at just $42k (thanks Spy for the great find).

In the Final Word, we’ll look at the super POD options, the players at under 5% ownership (or around about) that could send you soaring (or falling) up the overall ranks.
They come with big risk, but the reward is immense if it comes off.
In last round’s article, Wes Agar and Phil Salt scored 13 and 5 respectively, fair to say the less said about that the better…

Khan is coming off the double game week for the Stars yet is still owned by just 2.5% of teams, incredible!
I can’t believe more SuperCoaches didn’t jump on at the price for the double, not that I can talk, hindsight is a great thing…
However, he belted out 135 points and now has a breakeven of -42.
He had horrendous scores of 11, 3 and 8 in his first three games, but it’s a relatively risk-free trade due to the fact the Stars play so early in the next two rounds, so you can put the auto-emergency on him and loop if he scores well.
Worst case he scores poorly and you don’t loop him and he still makes big coin due to the low breakeven, nice!
I expect him to be in super POD territory for this week only.
Morne Morkel
Big Morne is on the scene and looking good!
Despite a long lay-off from cricket, he’s taken three wickets in his two games so far at an economical rate.
In his latest outing against a firing Scorchers line up he had a very impressive return of 2/24 off four overs.
In his international T20 career he struck every 20.2 balls at an economy of 7.50.
We know his credentials, so with his classy return to action he must be considered at just 2.5% ownership.

Like many, my trades are resting pretty heavily on the availability of Daniel Sams.
Unfortunately the Thunder play in the final game of the round which makes things far more difficult.
With a breakeven of 41 he won’t make too much money if he plays and scores well, so I’m tempted to wait another round just to make sure he is fit and ready to roll.
To use over $200k early in the round it will really impact your other trades, so if he doesn’t play it’s a huge blow and can also impact any loop tactics.
However, if we get word soon that he’s good to go I’ll be finding space for him.
*UPDATE: Sams is expected to miss the final three games of the regular season with an injured hand.
I desperately want Jhye Richardson too, and despite being $240k with a breakeven of over 100 I think I’ll bite the bullet and get him in.
I’m also sick of watching Ben McDermott go bonkers while not in my side, he’s in stunning form.
I’ve got a personal policy that I have to select a bloke if he hits a ball out of the ground, also I think it’s illegal if you don’t.
There are players you watch each week who just look a class above their opposition, and that’s big Benny at the moment, welcome aboard lad.
To fund those two monster trades I’ll be going Jack Wildermuth to the nuff in Neil-Smith.
This week, AJ Tye, Mitch Marsh and Aaron Hardie will make way from my side.
My vice-captain is Glenn Maxwell, while I’m leaning towards D’Arcy Short as skipper.
