What a weekend it was!! The four day Easter weekend always comes up with the goods! And on Friday night there were records that were threatened and I’m not talking about knocking off a whole packet of Hot Cross buns in a day.
The absolute carve up from one Ryan Papenhuyzen had the weekend buzzing. Those who managed to put the C on him will see some serious green arrows, whilst non owners were left fuming as he put the Broncos to the sword.
I was one who tossed up the thought of captaining Papi, but went Munster instead so I cut a forlorn figure until I heard the Spy went against everything he has said and looped To’o instead of putting the C on Papi, so my spirits went up.
The obvious gap between the top teams and the bottom is becoming more and more apparent with some monster wins for sides on the weekend. It might be time to consider match up based trades to an even greater degree as sides are piling points on for fun.

An absolute drubbing by the Panthers here and I don’t see a way out for my Eagles. I can’t see Tommy Turbo making too much difference to a side that appears to have been to the Nick Moon school of tackling.
Tommy might race a few more blokes in the Corso so he can spend some more time in the rehab facility.
SuperCoach wise, Jarome Luia, Brian To’o and Nathan Cleary were all outstanding with the three amassing 353 points! Even Burton notched up 100+.
The Penrith boys are a SuperCoach dream side. To’o shapes as an absolute must-have in the CTW. He barged over for two tries on Thursday but his workrate and tackle busts are something else.
For those who might have captained or even VC’d the Unicorn Cleary, he updated nicely and now has an average of 98!!
Owners of Schuster are set to make more money off him than Bitcoin! He scored 47 with a BE of -65. The Overlord didn’t employ me for my maths ,so I’ll let the bean counters at SuperCoach headquarters work out his price come next week. It’s still not too late to jump on if you missed him this week.

Friday afternoon, dry track, Cody Walker versus an understrength Bulldogs side, a combination as good as Easter eggs and Public Holidays!
There would have been plenty hoping for him to go large and there were many that put the captaincy on him. He crossed for two tries and a try assist.. for a score of 67!
Unfortunately for owners his two tries came off already made line breaks and his TA was from a kick. And to rub salt in the wounds he is set to miss a week after a stray elbow caught the head of Kyle Flanagan.
D Cook was big again and notched up his 2nd 100+ score of the year. He now takes on the Broncos and Tigers in the coming weeks and is without walker for the Broncos matchup. He looks a very enticing trade target for this week coming.

Ryan. Papenhuyzen. 33 points if you played in Words with Friends, 197 points if you had him in your 17! And for the 13% who captained him my hats go off to you!
A surreal performance that had to be seen to be believed. four tries in the space of 11 minutes and just tore a literal hole through the centre of the Broncos defence. He will cost you about $130k more than he was last week but he’s worth every cent. Non-owners were seeing red and will be seeing even more come lockout ending.
Payne Haas’ return was a little underwhelming getting through 69 minutes for a return of 55. His return meant TPJ was relegated to the bench and he only managed 32 in 31 minutes of football. Some concern for owners moving forward after a blockbusting start to the season.

Sharks v Cowboys
It was a high scoring match that would have had around 18 SuperCoaches interested. I can’t wait until Manly play the Cowboys…
Chad Townsend scored 107 for anyone who may have traded him in after Cleary was out last week, whilst popular early season cheapie and perennial future star Matty Moylan broke 60 for the first time this year.
For the Cowboys, Val Holmes was really the only shining light and has scores of 61 and back-to-back 70s for the 6% of players out there with him in your side.

It was a huge win here for the Raiders coming off last week’s loss. Their front-row rotation of Josh Papalii, Ryan Sutton, Ryan James and Dunamis Lui is putting most teams on the back foot from minute 1.
Papalii finally went big with 92 after he barged over for a try, whilst Hodgson schemed his way to 63. His game doesn’t quite suit Jack Wighton unfortunately, who was as bad an investment for me as the 15 losers I backed on Saturday.
James bounced back also with 52 as he was promoted to starting prop and is still cheap for those out there who may not have the Raider.
The back-row duo of David Fifita and Tino Fa’asuamaleaui were still dominant despite the scoreline, with the latter finally hitting his straps scoring 93 on the weekend after a number of SuperCoaches traded him out after three weeks of sub-par performances.
His partnership with Fifita is growing game by game and his score on Saturday night was largely made up of tackles, hit ups and tackle busts.
He plays a severely understrength Newcastle outfit next weekend so is a hold until Origin at least.

It was a massive performance here from the Red V with a number of teams, cough, Manly, cough, could learn a thing or two about playing with a bit of heart as they outlasted the Knights who will have to move training this week to John Hunter Hospital.
The call may go out for any Novacastrians who own a pair of boots to turn up next week to help them field a side. They have a massive injury toll but just keep finding ways to stay in football games.
Barnett shrugged off any thoughts of a lingering calf issue banging out 75 to lift his average for the year to 85.5. I would call him a must-have, but as an owner from Round 1, the room on the Barnett bus is getting smaller and all these late comers are not welcome!
Brailey was solid again, but with the mass amount of out in the coming weeks, it might be time to move him on to a Cook or even take a punt on Harry Grant if you want to be a king and take that risk.
Taking Tariq Sims’ 101 out of the Dragons, there wasn’t too much else SuperCoach wise with Zac Lomax unable to back up last week’s performance with 41. I’d be getting on if he drops in price in the next month or so.

Arise Sir Sam Walker! I didn’t think the young gun would outscore his namesake and assumed Uncle Cody on the weekend but here we are!
And I’m happy to report on this as an owner and someone who ended up playing him, taking the 81 points to the bank. An absolute must have at bottom dollar at $173k, he was superb in his debut for the Tri-olours. The jury will be out when he takes on some tougher sides, but for now he can do no wrong.
Teddy owners and captainers were chomping at the bit for him to emulate something similar to what Papi did on Friday night, but it was not to be only notching 74 despite scoring an early try.
Brett Morris again found the line twice and is now the season’s leading SuperCoach scoring player, averaging 105.75 points. He will set you back your first born child if you are willing to accommodate the leading try-scorer in your side.
AFB unfortunately went down with a knee injury early and could be set to miss a month of footy which really limits the FRF stocks for targets in the coming weeks.

Another Easter Monday match that had it all! The late withdrawal of Ryan Matterson had owners scurrying to cover his absence for the second week running.
I called it two weeks ago and that’s now two matches running BA has named him and not played him. For the love of SuperCoach don’t name him!
The junk time try from Blake Fergo really capped the week that was for owners out there. He was $352k to start the year and now has scores of 92, 32, 84 and 90 and will have risen more than $100k by the time lockout is over.
He was like a garbage cricketer in the outfield trying to catch those bombs from Adam Doueihi early on, but to his credit he shrugged that off and barged his way over for two tries.
Both Maika Sivo and David Nofoaluma were kept very quiet, with Sivo, like a struggling comedian, having to go in and find work for himself. Both will drop significantly over the next week or two, but better options are out there I believe.
