Draft Breakdown: Waiver-wire targets, Rd 11

Every week I will be looking at players still available in 65% of leagues. There may be better options still available in your league, but this article will be focusing on the players that are likely to be available in most leagues.

Best call last week – Morgan Harper  – who didn’t go nuts, but continues to put out solid scores and benefit from Turbo.

Worst call last week – Bailey Simonsson – despite switching to the left hand side for Raiders and playing against the Bulldogs he scored horribly and I should of stuck with my stance from a few weeks back, that Rapana is the only playable CTW for the Raiders.

It’s a short and late article this week as one of mates chose to get married mid-week so he could continue to watch his number one draft pick, Turbo, tear up on weekends.

I don’t normally repeat waiver-wire picks, but it is worth mentioning Walsh again. As I said a few weeks ago, he has the potential to be the best waiver for the whole year and will continue to demand more minutes.

It’s also worth noting that Euan Aitken and Esan Marsters pumped out solid base scores as expected, without any opportunities in attack and are not owned by many players.

Let’s have a look at a few more options we have this week after some unrecognisable team announcements.

Lachlan Lam (HOK/5-8)

After a slow start to the season, Lam looked great against the Cowboys popping up on both sides of the field.

Lam is a great play against the Broncos at 5/8 and has a great running game to potentially score well throughout the season.

Beau Fermor (2RF/CTW)

Great short-term play in your CTW spot this week against the Bulldogs.

He scored 41 base points against the Panthers last week and is also playing on the go-to left hand side for the Titans.

Tex Hoy (5-8/FLB)

Hoy will bounce back against the Cowboys this week after a shocking game last week.

He is also a good number for the bye round.

Jacob Liddle (HOK)

After seeing good minutes last week and off the back of a good Tigers win, I expect Liddle to again see good minutes and be playable this week.

He will likely lose minutes or his place if the Tigers lose again, but he can be played if they continue to win or at least show some greater signs of consistency.

Issac Liu (FRF/2RF)

Solid 40-45 point option each week that doesn’t offer much upside, but can be played with safety in deeper leagues.

Albert Kelly (HFB/5-8) and Kobe Hetherington (HOK/5-8)

Both these players became eligible for NRL this week and have been put straight into the struggling Broncos side.

For those that played in 2014, Kelly had heaps of potential with his electric footwork but never amounted to much SuperCoach wise.

After returning from Super League, Kelly has been playing in QLD cup and definitely looks a lot slower these days, but his kicking game and try-assist numbers have been great.

Kobe Hetherington has been playing lock in QLD Cup and is getting through some work in the middle. He also has the ability to find the try line with some decent line running and late footwork.

I would only pickup these players in 14+ man leagues at the moment, but it’s worth keeping your eye on these two against the Roosters this week.
