And here we are, one week to go, and what a brutal week it is going to be!
Mass restings have caused absolute carnage for Supercoaches, with the majority of teams left short of players this week.
With H2H grand finals no doubt being impacted everywhere, I suspect it might be time to have the option to switch H2H grand finals to be played in the penultimate week of the season.
Given the mass restings and the fact that most teams will have no trades left, I’ve focussed this article on the numbers of players available. I’ve still included the ownership tables by position but have left out any commentary this week.
Let’s see how your squad stacks up relative to others in the carnage!

The first table below sets out the top 35 players currently unavailable this weekend. It is a rough read!
To be honest, there are just too many big names out to bother listing them all as out – and no doubt you already know the damage to your own team!
On average, the top 10,000 teams have a whopping 9.9 players unavailable this week.
The table below shows what proportion of teams in each ranking zone have different numbers of players available – so 16 means that the team is one player short.
With most teams out of trades, the result is that the majority of teams will be playing short this week. 77% of the top 10,000 teams are at least one player short prior to trades this week including 66 of the top 100 teams. That is madness! One poor team in the top 100 only has 11 players available (sorry Henry).
It’s even worse than that in practice. Take for example, team 48. They actually have 22 players available to play – what a luxury.
The only problem is that they have no five-eighth so they can actually only start 16 and will then cop an AE of the worst of the remaining six scores for the five-eighth. With so many big names out at five-eighth, hooker and second-row this is going to be a common problem.
Good luck to everyone in your H2H finals and in the final round of the season!
Stay tuned for a special article soon on how team compositions changed throughout the season – hopefully with a deep dive on the moves our overall winner made to get there.
Did he pick a better starting side than the rest of us? Did he make big POD moves? Did he just move on the right players one or two weeks earlier than everyone else? I’ll have a crack and see what I can work out!
