What a round of footy! The Tigers sprung a huge upset and breathed life back into their season and the Sharks v Storm game was one of the best games of NRL I’ve seen this year so far.
On the Supercoach front, the medicocre scoring of the marquee fullbacks continued whilst a Supercoach gun in Nathan Cleary re-awakened with a 150+ score.
No doubt a lot of Supercoaches are scrambling to find a way to get Cleary into their team this week.
On top of all this, the popular coaches choices of Staggs and Fifita who were traded out by so many after a less than impressive start to the season both posted their second 100+ score in a row.

Key strategy point this week is get Nathan Cleary at all costs. Bring him in!
He’s seriously looking good and has a juicy match up against the Raiders.
Yes it’s followed by a couple of tougher match ups, but it’s Cleary and we know he is the best HFB in the game by a margin and without Turbo out there he is the best Supercoach player in the game by a margin.
Jeremiah Nanai and Billy Smith made way for Reuben Cotter and Tolatau Koula for me last week.
Cotter is a solid 2RF option but doesn’t really have the upside to hit 100+ scores.

Koula I was a little hesitant on for the reason that has come to fruition….his job security.
Unfortunately he has dropped out of the 17 making way for Harper, but at least he is not on the bench.
Going into this week placed in 1,542nd place I’m well positioned, but I’m conscious of the fact I have front-loaded my trades.
The time is coming now to start cashing in some of my VP’s (Value Propositions) players who have possibly peaked like Josh King and Beau Fermor.
This week I am looking at using another 3 trades:
Trade-1 Josh King to Flegler/Suaalli/Luki/Howarth
Trade-2 Beau Fermor to Blake Taaffe (via duels)
Trade-3 Brad Schneider to Nathan Cleary

Here’s the players I’ve identified as PODs (Point of Difference players – less than 10% owned) and Super PODS (less than 2% owned) that should be on your radar.
I’ve listed them in ranking order of who I believe is the best to take the risk on:
PODs (My top-7 ranked)
1. Cam McInnes – Gets the starting lock spot this week and might be close to bottoming out in price at $472k. Finucane will come back next week but McInnes could well keep the lock spot with Finucane covering the FRF position that has been rocked by injury.
2. Tom Starling – Has significant attacking upside and appears to be set for 80 minutes for the Raiders moving forward which will ensure solid base.
3. Heilum Luki – Appears to have won the starting edge spot on merit and had his first 80 min game on the weekend. Onwards and upwards for Luki.
4. Kalyn Ponga – Certainly in the headlines a lot, but quietly might’ve just played himself back into form against the Dragons. Games against the Eels and Storm are not ideal, although Ponga has shown he can go big against any team.
5. Reuben Cotter – Solid and consistent. Not really threatening to punch out a 100+ score, but yet to go under 50 points in four games.
6. Campbell Graham – Consistent. Sure you have to pay up for him, but he continues to deliver.
7. Haumole Olakau’atu – As predicted, he’s getting a lot of ball in attacking positions with Turbo out injured.

1. Mat Feagai – Priced at almost $500k, Feagai is a serious Super POD. The upcoming run for the dragons is not too bad and with Suli playing the way he is I believe he could be a great pick up for those looking for a left field way to make up ground on the pack!
2. Hayze Perham – Jags the coveted left wing position at the Eels after the failed experiment of moving Penisini there. Not bargain basement price, but close to it.
3. Sione Katoa – A really high-risk, high-reward play. Relies heavily on attacking stats.
CLOSE WATCH
This segment will list the players to keep a close watch on over the next month for their Supercoach prospects:
1. Harry Rushton – Young lad in the Raiders system who has huge wraps on him. Keep your eye out.

The day games this weekend are the ones that really catch the eye in terms of match-ups.
Sunday afternoon the Panthers are at home to a Raiders side that is living up to its name of the Faders.
The second half could get really ugly here if the Raiders don’t change some things.
Cleary, Tago, Taylan May, Kikau, Crichton and others could all be in for big scores. Most importantly, Cleary is set for a big one.
Monday footy for Anzac Day with the Saints taking on the Roosters in the day game.
Will this be the game the Roosters attack finally clicks? If it is, loyal James Tedesco owners may get the bounce back game they have been waiting for.
Monday night footy the Storm take on the Warriors and based on the Storm’s form against the Sharks this could be a great match up for Cameron Munster, Papi (ankle injury) and Harry Grant.
CAPTAIN
Very hard to go past Nathan Cleary if it’s a dry track in a day home game against the Raiders.
Tedesco, David Fifita and Nicho Hynes might serve as solid VC options.
If Papi can recover from his ankle injury he could go big against the Warriors in Melbourne, but you’d be a brave Supercoach to wait that out.
