Check out our Round 13 AFL SuperCoach wrap, including the stars and strugglers, injured brigade, and suspensions.
AFLRound 13 was never going to be easy, especially with the carnage that came our way on Wednesday and Thursday night at team selections.
Surprisingly though, it wasn’t all doom and gloom!
Now, understandably, you’re probably confused…
“Where is Eddie?!” “I miss Eddie!” “Your brother is so much better than you and you suck!”, is what I can only imagine you’re yelling at your phone as you read this.
Don’t worry, I’ve heard it all before from mum.
Kidding… haha.
But to seriously answer your confusion, Eddie’s unbelievable season so far has warranted him an upgrade! So now, I’ll be taking over the ‘Weekly Wrap’, and he’ll be using his self-appointed GOAT status to set you all up for the weekend in ‘Final Say’.
My team, Elite Dadds, could only muster up 19 players this week, so Mitch Owens’ 26 actually contributed to my overall score of 1812; this moved me up 2321 rankings to 18,264th.
With plenty of players coming off their bye, round 14 tends to be the easiest of all bye rounds; but with injuries to Owens, uncertainty surrounding Preuss & Hayes, and a mass amount of quality premos on their bye this week, it could turn out to be quite challenging.
Enough said, let’s get into the recap!

Liam Baker (112) continued his great run of form, while Jayden Short (102) tonned up yet again. POD options, Nick Vlastuin (96) and Dion Prestia (95), were solid without being great; but are definitely great options if you’re looking for some uniques.
Rookie, Judson Clarke (63), played an excellent game; kicking two early goals, and definitely doing more than enough to cement his spot in the team for the next few weeks.
Zac Butters (87) had a large impact on the game, and Tom Jonas certainly had a large impact on his cheek (how the heck was he allowed to go back on??). Travis Boak (110) played another superb game, and I think I speak for everyone when I say how badly I want him to get FWD status in Round 18.
Dan Houston (98) remains as one of the more consistent defensive options this season.
Injuries – Dusty copped a knee in the back of the head. Trent Dumont was subbed off with a calf strain. Butters and Jonas had a sickening head clash, but played out the rest of the game.
Reports – nil.

Go Hawks 🙂
Dylan Shiel (139) wound back the clock with an unreal game, collecting 27 touches, a goal, and a monstrous 10 tackles.
Zach Merrett (90) would have disappointed the owners who brought in the seriously under-priced premo, and I can’t even describe how bad I feel for the people who traded in Darcy Parish (51), who got a corky to his calf in the first quarter.
Ben Hobbs (83) is making a mid-season run for Rookie of the Year, but it’s probably time to let go of Nic Martin (66) if you can.
Sam Docherty (139) was truly incredible down back, racking up 33 touches and 9 marks on his way to his second highest score of the year.
Patrick Cripps (126) shrugged off an Archie Perkins tag, but Sam Walsh (75) couldn’t manage to capitalise on the free space that he was afforded. Unfortunately, Adam Cerra (5) did a hammy quite early on in the game, but it will allow George Hewett (97) to continue to get more, and more midfield minutes.
Injuries – Parish subbed off with a corked calf. Cerra subbed off very early with a hammy injury.
Reports – nil.

The best game of the round in my opinion!
A spirited performance from the Hawks wasn’t enough to prevent a courageous comeback from the Dockers, who now move up to equal first on the ladder!
Andrew Brayshaw (135) was IMMENSE. Racking up 37 touches, six marks, six tackles, and he even kicked the match sealing goal. He’s certainly making a case for a spot as one of the best SuperCoach midfielders this year.
Hayden Young (142) was incredible down back. Him, Brennan Cox (97), and Luke Ryan (119), combined for 32 marks in defence.
Caleb Serong (127) took his three-game-average to 107. Since Round 8, he’s only dropped under 107 once…
Nat Fyfe (83) played his first game of the year but had an unfortunate impact on Will Brodie (82). If you’re thinking of trading out Brodie, I would 100% support you.
Jaeger O’Meara (132) tried his absolute hardest to get the Hawks the win, as did James Sicily 116), who continued his unreal season down back.
Dylan Moore (92) rewarded his owners who maintained their faith in him after a frustrating month.
Injuries – Blake Acres pulled his hammy and was subbed off. Sean Darcy rolled his ankle after being tackled. Sam Frost copped a knee knock in the last quarter and was subbed off.
Reports – nil.
Embed from Getty ImagesWith this win, Brisbane now remarkably move to top of the ladder, narrowly edging out Melbourne by 0.2%.
Hugh McCluggage (120) is definitely someone to monitor over the next few weeks, as he was playing pure midfield and racked up 33 touches.
Lachie Neale (126) did what he does best, collecting 37 touches, and bouncing back from a. Sub-par score last week.
In general, the Lions midfield brigade just dominated; completely taking advantage of the undermanned Saints engine room. Jarryd Lyons (107) and Jarrod Berry (116) both scored extremely well.
It wasn’t just the midfield, with Daniel Rich (116) and Keidean Coleman (99) both utilising their elite kicking off half back to perfection.
Brad Crouch (129) has taken his game to another level without Jack Steele, while Jack Sinclair (116) remains as one of the best SuperCoach defensive options of the year.
It was unfortunate to see one of the most popular trade ins, Mitch Owens (26), exit the game with concussion. Hopefully he’s ok and comes back into the team for Round 15.
Injuries – Injuries galore in this game! Rich strained his hammy a little bit by the looks of things but played out the game, while Zorko also tweaked his hammy and was subbed out. Lincoln McCarthy had a sore neck after copping a knock in a contest, as did Mitch Robinson and Darcy Gardiner who sustained knee and back hits respectively. Mason Wood copped a knock to his ankle in the last quarter which didn’t look too bad; but Zac Jones didn’t return after suffering a groin injury, and Daniel McKenzie failed a concussion test in the third quarter. Popular trade in, Mitch Owens, was subbed off in the second with concussion.
Reports – nil.

North Melbourne are in shambles, and I’d go as far to say that I think even West Coast have a brighter future than them.
LDU (138) and Jy Simpkin (90) ran the midfield for the Roos, collecting 33 and 31 disposals respectively.
Unfortunately, the blokes who received the ball after them couldn’t do anything with it, and the Giants dominated on the counterattack.
Can we talk about Harry Himmelberg (187) please??! He was flying for EVERYTHING and racked up soooo much cheap footy. I think there has to be an asterisk next to this score because of the opposition, but since the new coach has come in, Harry has scored 126 and now this 187…
Possibly the best thing I’ve done all season was deciding to controversially bring Coniglio (174) BACK in. He was incredible, amassing 34 touches and 3.2!
After spending the last month out, Lachie Whitfield (118) returned to his natural spot on the wing and flourished, with 29 touches and 14 marks. I’d like to wait one more week before I consider bringing him in.
Isaac Cumming (115) junked up BIG time; and if Whitfield stays on the wing, Cumming will continue to get a heap of footy down back.
Tanner Bruhn (127) had an unbelievable breakout game, while Tom Green (117) found some of the form that he had at the start of the year.
Josh Kelly (111) did well to shrug off a tag, and popular rookie option, Jacob Wehr (66) looks like a super good pick down back.
Injuries – Jack Ziebell suffered a head clash in the last quarter but was not subbed out. Josh Kelly tweaked a hammy which is definitely one to look at due to his soft tissue history, and Harry Perryman endured a sickening hit to the ribs which he was subbed out for.
Reports – JHF took out his frustration on Josh Kelly, hitting him in the jaw after the ball was kicked. Hearing that it could be two weeks.

Queen’s Birthday game and it certainly lived up to expectations!
The bye couldn’t come soon enough for the Dees, who have now lost three straight games against very winnable opposition.
What makes things worse for them is that they led by 20 points in the third quarter but conceded seven of the last eight goals to let the pies run over the top of them in the last.
Nick Daicos (112) is a genuine star, and it’s scary to think how many Brownlow Medals this kid is going to win. In back-to-back weeks, he’s collected 36 and 33 disposals respectively, and his breakeven has now shot down to just 8; making it very unjustifiable to trade him out this week like we had all planned to.
Jack Crisp (119) was at his usual best, as was Darcy Cameron (103) who is in career best form, fulling taking advantage of the injury to Brodie Grundy.
Mason Cox (109) was the surprise X-Factor of the game and had an outstanding last quarter to get his team over the line.
From a SuperCoach perspective, the Demons were on FIRE. Jack Viney (126), Clayton Oliver (141), Angus Brayshaw (126), James Jordan (135), and Christian Salem (104) all had the ball on a string for majority of the game.
Unfortunately, Max Gawn (70), couldn’t quite shrug off his general soreness, and spent a large part of the game in the rooms.
Despite having 32 touches, Christian Petracca (99) couldn’t grab the ton, and will definitely be on the radar of ‘rage trade’ status for his owners.
Injuries – Nathan Murphy limped off the ground in the last quarter after getting hit. Max Gawn was in and out of the rooms with what appeared to just be general soreness; apparently, he was even sore at training, but with the bye, he should be ok for Round 15. James Harmes left the field wincing after being bumped by Sidebottom, and Harrison Petty looked VERY dazed after coming down awkwardly in a marking contest. Debutant, Daniel Turner, was subbed off in the third quarter after failing a concussion test.
Reports – nil.
