We take a look at the most traded in and out players each week to determine if SuperCoaches are on the right track.
AFLThe top three trade-ins this week are all rookies, whilst it seems as though coaches are finally getting sick of Patrick Cripps’ lean run of form.
But should we really be pulling the trigger on these trades?
Sports journalist and SuperCoach expert Dylan Bolch will run his eye over the top trade targets each round and summarise which players are really worth trading in, and which are really worth trading out.
He will give a quick take each week on the ten most traded in players and the ten most traded out as per the official SuperCoach site.
Here is his analysis ahead of Round 19:

Jai Culley ($102,400 FWD/MID) – The top mid-season draft pick who hails from the Mornington Peninsula absolutely loves the contest and that was evident in his debut against the Hawks. Culley had a match-high eleven tackles which resulted in a SuperCoach score of 90. You can afford to watch him once more this weekend before looking at bringing him in to your side.
2. Noah Cumberland ($123,900 FWD/MID) – Cumberland now has scores of 62 and 101 in his two games so far. Can we expect that output every week? I don’t think so. As lively as he has looked, I think his job security is still shaky once the Tigers get some of their stars back. His cash generation will be good, but in order to capitalise on that you would need to trade him out again and I think the majority of SuperCoaches won’t have that luxury.
3. Josh Carmichael ($102,400 FWD/MID) – I think Carmichael is the best rookie to get this week. His job security seems better than Cumberland’s and he’s 20k cheaper. Carmichael had 24 disposals (all kicks) and eight tackles against Adelaide and would have scored even more if not for a disposal efficiency of just 25 per cent.

4. Jack Steele ($562,200 MID) – Four SuperCoach tons on the trot since returning from a shoulder injury, including a 133 last week. Steele is a bit more affordable than the other midfield premiums and should continue to score at 110+ in the final five rounds of the year. Great buy.
5. Marcus Bontempelli ($615,400 FWD/MID) – He’s a must have. I could shower you with statistics and data, but the reality is, he’s the best forward option in SuperCoach. If you don’t have him already, you should probably find a way to get him in this week, whilst his breakeven is under 80.
6. Rory Laird ($676,500 MID) – Having been a staple of SuperCoach defences for multiple years, Laird has now become a gun midfielder. The obvious turn-off here is his price, but he’s that expensive for a reason and if you can bring him in, go for it.

8. Rowan Marshall ($460,600 FWD/RUC) – Is on a lot of radars this week due to Paddy Ryder’s calf injury (expected to miss 4-6 weeks). Marshall will shoulder majority of the ruck load in Ryder’s absence and his SuperCoach scoring tends to increase dramatically when this occurs. On average, he scores 37 points per game more when Ryder doesn’t play. Price is also extremely appealing.
9. Jack Sinclair ($603,400 DEF/MID) – Sinclair has become one of St Kilda’s finest players in 2022 and that has coincided with some elite SuperCoach scoring. He’s closing the gap on James Sicily as the highest scoring defender of the year.
10. Todd Goldstein ($521,900 FWD/RUC) – ‘Goldy’ has certainly wound back the clock this season, especially once he reassumed the number one ruck role. His five-round average of 106.8 ranks seventh amongst forwards and he could have been even higher if not for a stinker against Geelong, where he scored just 55 points.
Embed from Getty Images1. Patrick Cripps ($500,800 MID) – We all thought Cripps was back to his best in SuperCoach this season, but since Round 9, he’s averaged just 94 points per match. He is a luxury trade however, especially given you will likely need to use two trades to get up to a 110+ replacement player.
2. Tom Green ($442,800 MID) – With a three-round average of just 65.3, getting rid of Green needs to be a priority. He attended just 27 per cent of centre bounces on the weekend, his lowest of the season, which also coincided with Jacob Hopper’s AFL return. It seems the Green Machine is cooked.
3. Maurice Rioli ($203,100 MID/FWD) – Struggled to make an impact in the VFL which means I doubt he gets a recall to the AFL side.

4. Jacob Wehr ($306,900 DEF) – His breakeven is now up to 66, has he peaked in price? I think so. However, he could provide good bench cover in the remaining five rounds.
5. Josh Kelly ($550,000 MID) – The smooth-moving midfielder will miss this week with concussion. Whether or not you trade him depends on who your cover is and how many trades you have left.
6. Brady Hough ($256,700 DEF/MID) – Since his return in round 10, Hough has increased in price by over 100k. His breakeven is up 79 though, so now is the time to cash him in.
Embed from Getty Images7. Matt Rowell ($475,400 MID) – Really struggled against the Bombers but I’m not sure there’s too many other midfielders less than 500k that are worth trading him out for. Maybe a bit of DPP action to get in Marshall? Not the end of the world if you have to hold Rowell, he has three scores of 113+ in his past six outings.
8. Greg Clark ($233,600 MID) – Didn’t play against the Hawks and has a breakeven of 91. Could bleed even more cash if he gets activated as the medical sub.
9. Jade Gresham ($427,300 FWD/MID) – Has lost CBAs due to Steele’s return and his scoring has taken a hit as a result. I’d look at moving him on if trades permit.
10. Patrick McCartin ($378,300 DEF/FWD) – His cash generation has slowed, so if you still own him, it’s likely as D7/F7 cover. This one completely depends on your team structure and trade situation.
