NRLAnalysing the top 100,000 NRL Supercoach teams after Round 21
After a rough Round 20, Round 21 saw some monster scores from three of the most popular players in Supercoach.
Latrell, Munster and Nicho all went huge, whilst the likes of Cam Murray, Drinky, Shaun Lane, Teddy, DBags, Harry, Angus and the former champion beach sprinter all scored 94 or above.
Of most interest at this point is how many trades each team has left.

The top 100 teams now have just 1.8 trades left on average. The top 10 have 2.0 on average – but it is worth noting that 6 of those teams held onto Nathan Cleary. The injury to Jahrome Hughes was a great example of why it was worth doing so – a move recommended by our own Timmy Williams.
Let’s first take a look at player ownership by position after Round 21.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe table below sets out the proportion of teams in the top 10, top 100, top 500, top 1,000, top 5,000, top 10,000, top 20,000 and top 100,000 that own each fullback.
Almost all of the top 100 now have Teddy (96%) and Latrell (87%) at fullback.
Team 14 is the only team in the top 25 who does not own Teddy. Team 24 is the only team in the top 25 who does not own Latrell.
The big move at CTW last week was for Adam Doueihi. 31% of the top 100 and 32% of the top 10,000 now own Doueihi – up from just 2% last week!
As a non-owner, I was very relieved to see him only score 53 against the Knights.
Team 54 is the only team in the top 68 to not own Joseph Manu.
Only two teams in the top 65 don’t own Reuben Garrick (teams 2 and 28).
Cameron Munster is now owned by 93% of the top 100. The team running second is the only team in the top 34 who does not own Munster.
One of the more surprising ownership stats for me this week was how many teams held onto Nathan Cleary. 45% of the top 100 – and 6 of the top 10 held Cleary last week. This gives you an indication of just how short of trades some teams are.
Those teams who brought in Jahrome Hughes last week will be sweating on his return date.
Only 3 of the top 1,000 teams (and none of the top 500) do not own Isaiah Papali’i.
Cameron Murray is now owned by around 30% of teams and he did not disappoint his new owners!
67% of the top 100 – and 7 of the top 10 – own Joseph Tapine who is out. A further 27% of the top 100 own Viliame Kikau who is currently named on the extended bench for Penrith.
3 teams in the top 20 own both Tapine and Kikau (teams 3, 13 and 15). Combined with other nuffs, team 3 is currently one player short in the combined 2RF and FRF position.
After a lean stretch by his standards, Harry Grant returned to form last week with a solid 97.
In a week where captaincy selection felt crucial, almost all the leading teams had a captain score over 100.
20% captain Latrell (153), 23% captained Munster (147) and 6% captained Hynes (112).
A further 50% of teams looped with Munster or Latrell. As a result, only one team in the top 100 (team 76) had a captain score under 100.
The table below sets out how many trades each of the top 10, 20, 50 and 100 teams have left. The top 100 teams on average have just 1.8 trades left.
17 of the top 100 teams (and 7 of the top 50) are now out of trades! A further 32 have just one trade left. Only 2 teams in the top 20 have 4 trades left.
Bear in mind that 9 of the top 20 teams held Nathan Cleary – including the top two teams.
On average, the top 100 teams have 4.5 players unavailable this week due to injury, suspension or not being selected.
One team in the top 10 (team 3) has 7 players unavailable.
Good luck to everyone in Round 21. I’m off to New Zealand to watch the Bulldogs take on the Warriors.
