Teams have dropped for round 9! 

With Anzac day pushing everything back a day, we’re short on time for full analysis.

Let’s take a look at the Round 9 Supercoach teams, with squads provided by Fox Sports NRL.

SHARKS v COWBOYS

Thursday, 7:50pm, PointsBet Stadium, Sydney

Analysis: No major changes to the Sharkies squad, Nicho Hynes looks an outstanding straight captaincy play on Thursday night with doubt over Nathan Cleary facing the Tigers due to a groin niggle.

Cleary is the best play, but if he is rested Nicho is the clear second pick, so it may pay off to go early. Cleary has been confirmed to not kick goals.

Analysis: Jack Gosiewski has been named to start again after playing 80 last week. He looks an okay downgrade, however Heilum Luki is due back next week and will either start in his place or come onto the edge and reduce his minutes, so I’d say he’s a trap.

EELS v KNIGHTS

Friday, 6pm, CommBank Stadium, Sydney

Analysis: Haze Dunster comes in on the wing, however Bailey Simonsson is only out short-term due to a concussion, so he looks a trap.

Wiremu Greig starts in place of the injured Reagan Campbell-Gillard. At near bottom dollar, with a FRF crisis this week with Payne Haas suspended and Christian Welch on the bye, Greig looms as a reasonable purchase.

Parramatta play all three major bye rounds, where Junior Paulo will also be unavailable due to Origin, so he looms as a solid cheapie.

Analysis: No major changes here, note that the Knights have the bye next week, so if you’re keen on any of their players it’s probably worth waiting until Round 11 to invest.

Analysis: Payne Haas is the big out for Supercoaches due to suspension, along with Ezra Mam.

I’ve seen lots selling Haas as a result with the tough draw and Origin looming where he’ll miss games and likely play fewer minutes.

I’d probably hold till Round 13 before flipping personally, butI understand the move.

Analysis: Tevita Tatola is back at prop, with South Sydney finally getting back towards having their full-strength middles available.

This is relevant to Supercoach as the four forward bench makes Davvy Moale a very risky play in the FRF as minutes will likely be limited.

RAIDERS v DOLPHINS

Saturday, 3pm, McDonalds Park, Wagga Wagga

Analysis: Xavier Savage is on the extended bench, meaning Seb Kris stays at fullback and importantly Jarrod Croker gets his third game of the season and first cash rise.

His job security is far from safe though. As an owner, I’m hoping when Savage comes in that he goes to fullback and Kris to the wing in place of Hopoate (Cotric injured).

But it could easily be Kris to centre. Croker is a solid buy, but he’s far from safe.

Analysis: Not too much change here. With triple figures breakevens I think it’s time to cash in Jamayne Isaako and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.

The Dolphins do play the first major bye round though, so if you think they can sustain strong scoring and hold value there’s a case to hold until Round 13.

Analysis: Tom Trbojevic has been named despite remaining in doubt with injury.

The way I see it, he’s bottoming out in price but has still scored very well for the majority of the season despite clearly not being at 100%.

If there’s concern for injury aggravation surely Manly won’t play him?

I don’t love many of the other fullback options at the moment, so if he does play I’ll hold for a nice match up with the Titans then reconsider if he struggles.

Reuben Garrick moves to centre which I don’t love for his Supercoach output.

I wouldn’t be buying him just yet, but it’s not exactly panic stations for owners.

Toa Sipley is worth a look as a FRF cheapie after two big performances.

Analysis: With Izack Tago out for a lengthy period, Tyrone Peachey has surprisingly beaten out promising rookies Tom Jenkins and Jesse McLean for the centre spot.

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but at $289k, with a great draw ahead, in a red-hot Panthers side, Peachey may just be a decent buy?

Job security is the obvious issue, but he has a Supercoach friendly game as a tacklebuster, offloader and strong workrate, so he could be an option.

Hopefully he gets dual CTW-2RF positioning by next positional updates coming shortly too.

Keep a very close eye on this team leading into the game as there may be numerous changes, including Nathan Cleary who is in doubt with a groin niggle and won’t kick goals if he does play.

Analysis: Not a lot to speak of here. Cheapie Jahream Bula scored 38 on debut.

It’s a shame he’s only available at fullback, but if he scores well this week we can maybe consider next round.

Analysis: Addin Fonua-Blake has attracted attention this week at FRF.

He certainly has the game to be Supercoach relevant, but I’m not convinced.

He’s scored tries the past two games and also play a massive 71 minutes due to injuries in the game last week.

Analysis: Joey Manu remains in the halves and looks a great buy once again after scoring 90 against the Dragons.

Keep an eye on Corey Allan as a potentially cheapie in a few weeks if he can score a few tries in the absence of Daniel Tupou.

Analysis: Tyrell Sloan is the most traded in player this week, with back-to-back scores of 85 and 90 and a soft draw upcoming against the Dogs, Tigers and Cowboys.

He’s $464k with a breakeven of -38, so there’s lots of money incoming.

He’s already scored 15 points twice this season.
