Niko’s watchlist: Trades, breakevens, and tags, Round 21

2021 runner-up Steven Nikolovski analyses the players he's most interested in, but also keeps a close eye on any potential tags that might occur this week

AFL

2570 this week which takes me out to a season rank of 1304.

I just keep getting the 50:50 calls wrong much to my annoyance. This week it was captaining Bontempelli over Dunkley and starting Ford over Maric as my Walsh cover.

No Corey Wagner luck for me!

I probably should’ve just traded Walsh instead of saving my last trade for league finals. Watch me not get another injury now!

It would be nice if any of Deven Robertson, Matty Roberts, or Charlie Constable returned to give me more looping options in covering Walsh.  They’ve all been dominating the VFL so one can only hope.

Once again, the watchlist is on hold as I wait for that injury.

Break-even Analysis

BUBBLE BOYS

  • Luke Nankervis (MID/FWD $123.9k B/E -33) – Fits the bill if you need a rookie.

CONSIDER

  • Callum Ah Chee (MID 343.4k B/E -33) – He’s backed it up with another good score and even some CBAs.
  • Francis Evans (FWD $193.1k B/E -32) – I like the look of Frankie but probably won’t kick 4 goals too often.
  • Corey Wagner (DEF/MID $262k B/E -31) – Huge for those with the E on him last weekend.
  • Mark Keane (DEF $150.7k B/E -26) – He looked unreal on Charlie Dixon in the showdown, winning numerous one-on-one contests.  Crows have injury issues in defence so he should be nailed for the next couple off that performance.
  • Chad Wingard (FWD $341.3k B/E -5) – Some old timers are really making a comeback!
  • Jack Darling (FWD $313k B/E 3) – The big score is probably a one off.
  • Charlie Curnow (FWD $565.5k B/E 10) He’s expensive, but if it might be your last trade it doesn’t really matter.  It’s a fun pick and the Blues should keep winning.
  • Andrew Gaff (MID 380.9k B/E 14) – One of these old timers who are suddenly scoring well.

AFL Fantasy betting? Yep, you heard that right! This week for our betr SC Playbook multi, we’ve got the Bont to dominate under the lights and Cody Weightman to kick two snags FOLLOW HERE

  • Jamie Cripps (FWD $324.8k B/E 15) – His tackles (11!) and goals were a huge reason the Eagles had a win.
  • Sam Wicks (FWD $287.9k B/E 24) – A bit too hit and miss, but maybe a decent loop/coverage player.
  • Dan Butler (FWD $277.8k B/E 25) – He tonned up but was coming off a 30 and 22.
  • Darcy Cameron (RUC/FWD $500.8k B/E 26) – Still think he’s a great trade in.  I’d be surprised if Cox wasn’t dropped after what I saw with my own eyes on Friday night.  Expecting another CBA spike for DCam as a result.
  • Adam Treloar (MID $536.4k B/E 52) – I think there’s better options, but you can’t doubt his ceiling.
  • Zak Butters (MID/FWD $535.7k B/E 73) – In very good form and ceiling is massive.
  • Jack Macrae (MID/FWD $516.4k B/E 84) – Probably a bit too hit and miss and that is purely down to the role.
  • Sam Flanders (MID/FWD $491.5k B/E 85) – A drop in CBAs but that was related to the Neale tag.  Still had a heap of the ball.
  • Josh Kelly (MID $512.6k B/E 100) – Is cheap for his ceiling, but can you trust him?

TRADE OUT OPTIONS

  • Adam Cerra (MID $583.9k B/E 155) – Was utterly dominant in the first half and then pinged a hammy.  Listed as 2-3 weeks and considering there’s only 4 games left he’s a must trade, unless you have a 23rd premium waiting to come in.
  • Tim Taranto (MID/FWD $534.2k B/E 141) – Falls in the luxury trade bracket.  If you’ve saved trades use one on him.  One tonne in his last 5 matches, and that was against West Coast.
  • Luke Parker (MID $535.8k B/E 108) – No doubt the rage trade is tempting after he dropped a 45.
  • Callum Mills (MID $450.9k B/E 103) – If you have him at M8 try and get him to M9, or trade him out.  No playing the role we need but he’s fine as a M9.

Tag Watch

Rory Laird – I wonder if Touk will set his sights on him (or Dawson) after taking care of Neale.

Nick Daicos – Finn Maginness did a number on him in the pre-season, so much so it stopped me starting him.

Patrick Dangerfield – I expect Willem Drew to follow the footsteps of Hayden Young.

Luke Parker – Coming off a down game I can see Cal Ward going to him like he did with Bont last week.

Lachie Neale – Touk has led the way and I’m sure Hayden Young will try and do something very similar after tagging Danger last week.
