Quantium Data Analysis: 2024 True Player Ownership Stats, Rd 3

CEO of Quantium & Bulldogs Chairman, Adam Driussi analyses player ownership of the top 100,000 NRL Supercoach teams.

Analysing the top 100,000 NRL Supercoach teams after Round 3 of the 2024 season.

We are back!  How good is it to have the NRL back in full swing?!

For those new to this column, each week (work commitments permitting!) I will analyse the ownership stats around the top 100,000 teams to help Supercoaches get a better feel for the true ownership of different players.

Unfortunately, the player ownership stats on the Supercoach website aren’t particularly useful – but I guess that means that hopefully, these stats can give you an edge on other players by truly understanding whether a certain player is a POD or not.

In the interest of getting the data out each week this year, I will keep the commentary to a minimum.

My Bulldogs commitments on top of my normal work commitments mean I’m pretty smashed for time so I will prioritise getting the stats out over any commentary overlay.

Without further ado, let’s get into it.

FLB

The table below sets out the proportion of teams in the top 100, top 500, top 1,000, top 5,000, top 10,000, top 20,000 and top 100,000 that own each fullback.

I’ve excluded dual-position players at FLB since there are so many premium fullbacks to pick.  The duals are included in their other dual position.

Good luck to everyone in Round 4.

Hopefully, the Bulldogs can upset the Rabbitohs on Good Friday and make it two in a row.

Great analysis, thanks Adam! One question – I appreciate the ownership stats will be fluid throughout the week, so when are the stats taken from? At conclusion of end of round (i.e. while full lockout still in place)? E.g. I can’t imagine Dom Young would still be only 2% ownership just before start of Round 4, so I assume the stats are based on ownership at end of Round 3 (i.e. before Dom smashed out 150 points against the Bunnies & everyone wanted to get him in their teams)?
