Walson Carlos
2019 SuperCoach Classic runner-up
2019 Supercoach Classic Runner Up Walson Carlos runs through his NRL Supercoach strategy for Round 7.
NRLAfter a fairly average score of 1,177 was like gold for me last weekend and moved me up into a very unrespectable ranking of 69,608th.
At least the climb up the rankings has started and hopefully I can build on it this week with some clever trades that go against the grain of the majority of Supercoaches.
If you are serious about your Supercoach and most likely you are if you’re reading this article then you need to start to look ahead at bye planning and rep footy with the State of Origin series under 50 days away.
The whole origin period can make or break your Supercoach season.

If I was in the top 20,000 overall ranking wise I may be a little more conservative, however coming from nearly 70,000th if I’m going to go down it might as well be in flames!
Trade 1: Sam McIntyre OUT – Shawn Blore IN
I was only able to get Angus Crichton in last week, so this week I am adding Blore. I think they are both potentially top 5 scoring average 2RF’s by the end of season. McIntyre I would have loved to have cashed out last week for nearly $95k but still happy with the $80k I’ve made off him and he’s done a serviceable job.
Trade 2: (still under serious consideration) James Tedesco OUT – Charnze Nicholl-Klokstad IN
I really don’t have a legitimate reason for trading Tedesco out of my side and it might come back to bite me because he was playing outstanding footy before he got knocked out by a Kikau hip.
In fact, he was averaging 88.8 in his 4 non-injury games and 3 of those games were against the Sea Eagles, Panthers and Broncos – all very good teams in 2024.
So its nothing to do with Tedesco really but I know its been a very small sample size for CNK but his first two outings have been eye opening from a Supercoach point of view.
Admittedly his most recent game vs Sea Eagles went the extra 10mins but his stats are next level – Joey Manu-at-fullback like base stats.
Tedesco is only 6% owned so a great POD if I keep him. CNK is a SuperPOD with a great upcoming draw. Still undecided.

Zac Lomax
If he hadn’t moved to centre I probably would’ve brought him in this week. I like him better at wing and hopefully he returns there next week when Jack Bird is back from concussion. Probably bring him in next week.
Bronson Xerri
Bulldogs tore apart the right side defence of the Roosters with most of the havoc caused by Kikau.
Xerri is very quick and was a direct beneficiary of Kikau’s destructive runs.
Te Maire Martin
If you need a five-eighth, Martin is a great mid-range price and scoring very well.
Warriors with soft draw the next 3 weeks.
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad
Sure two games is a small sample size but what I have seen is the Warriors have been controlling field position extremely well in games and kicking to corners.
This has forced teams to kick long and CNK is getting a lot of kick returns. CNK also has that presence of RTS who he knows can fill his position well.
Nothing like in-team competition to keep player’s form up. It’s a risk but he’s cheaper and Warriors coming into nice draw.
David Fifita
Warming into the season. You can get him this week or next week.
Shawn Blore
Locked into right 2RF spot at Storm and I firmly believe he averages 60-80 Supercoach points a week this season.
Priced at $489k he is significantly underpriced.
