Round 12 NRL Team Lists: Supercoach Analysis

2020 NRL Supercoach runner-up Tim Williams analyses all the major team changes from the Round 12 NRL team lists.

NRL

Magic round is in the bag, Indigenous round arrives.

Rugby league really is the greatest, and we’re lucky we get so much to get excited about each and every week.

Firstly a big thank you to all the SC Playbook community for turning up to the Caxton Hotel on Friday to say g’day to our team.

It’s loaded with good people so we’ll aim to do this every year moving forward to get the contributors and community together to say hello.

I’m not sure about you, but for someone who has played Supercoach for so long I find it extremely hard to gauge the extent of which I’m set to fall or rise in rankings each.

Last week, I went what I thought was very poorly and stayed almost dead level, this week I notched 1,261 points and thought perhaps some at least minor green arrows were on the horizon… I dropped 1,300 spots to 12k overall!

While I’m very happy with my squad leading into the bye period, the Stallions need to make some moves in coming rounds to ensure we don’t leave ourselves too far behind.

It was really disappointing as the squad went fairly well across the board, I’m just missing a few of the bigger individual scores and have struggled to nail that 100+ skipper this season.

I did end up avoiding a boost though which was satisfying, instead opting to hold Nathan Cleary and brush Sammy Walker.

Scotty Drinkwater came in for Reece Walsh after being a late out, and thankfully I bit the bullet and got in Dom Young for Taylan May after he got into strife.

Well set-up for round 13 with decent numbers, I’m strongly aiming to save some additional trades over the next two weeks to put myself in a strong position moving throughout the bye period.

Let’s take a look at the round 12 teams, with squad lists courtesy of Fox Sports.

BULLDOGS v DRAGONS

Thursday, 7:50pm, Accor Stadium, Sydney

Bulldogs: 1. Connor Tracey 2. Jacob Kiraz 3. Bronson Xerri 4. Stephen Crichton 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Matt Burton 7. Drew Hutchison 8. Max King 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Samuel Hughes 11. Viliame Kikau 12. Jaeman Salmon 13. Kurt Mann

Bench: 14. Bailey Hayward 15. Josh Curran 16. Kurtis Morrin 17. Jacob Preston

Reserves: 19. Poasa Faamausili 20. Blake Taaffe 21. Jake Turpin 22. Blake Wilson 23. Toby Sexton

Analysis: Jacob Kiraz is one I want for the bye period, but one I’m not sure that I’ll be able to get as I eye off Joey Manu with potential fullback duties incoming.

After a slower start to the season, Kiraz is now averaging 70 points per game, priced at $712k, with a breakeven of 29.

He’s basing 37 per game and has a great draw against the Dragons, Knights and Eels incoming.

He is only owned by 14% of the top 10% of teams overall.

Matt Burton has excelled for owners of late and remains a popular buy this week, I’d avoid though despite the temptation.

I feel as though he’ll slot in somewhere for NSW which means he misses round 13, 15, 16 and 19.

That will see him play a maximum three of seven games from round 13 onwards provided he backs up from Origin also.

Of course if he misses Origin selection this changes dramatically, but with the Blues injury toll and his versatility you think he’d slot in somewhere even if only 18th man.

Dragons: 1. Tyrell Sloan 2. Zac Lomax 3. Moses Suli 4. Jack Bird 5. Mikaele Ravalawa 6. Kyle Flanagan 7. Ben Hunt 8. Francis Molo 9. Jacob Liddle 10. Hame Sele 11. Tom Eisenhuth 12. Jaydn Su’A 13. Jack de Belin

Bench: 14. Fa’amanu Brown 15. Blake Lawrie 16. Raymond Faitala-Mariner 17. Luciano Leilua

Reserves: 18. Ben Murdoch-Masila 19. Mathew Feagai 20. Alec Tuitavake 21. Toby Couchman 22. Jesse Marschke

Analysis: Zac Lomax remains in the Origin frame, but is unlikely in my opinion.

After peaking at $800k, he’s getting to a more affordable price at $717k with a breakeven of 89.

I don’t mind him as a buy this week, but it’s possibly worth playing it safe if you are interested and waiting until next week to make sure he misses NSW selection.

The Dragons cover two major bye rounds in round 13 and 19.

COWBOYS v TIGERS

Friday, 6pm, QCB Stadium, Townsville

Cowboys: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Braidon Burns 3. Valentine Holmes 4. Viliami Vailea 5. Murray Taulagi 6. Tom Dearden 7. Chad Townsend 8. Jordan McLean 9. Reece Robson 10. Griffin Neame 11. Heilum Luki 12. Jeremiah Nanai 13. Reuben Cotter

Bench: 14. Sam McIntyre 15. Thomas Mikaele 16. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki 17. Jason Taumalolo

Reserves: 18. Jake Granville 19. Jake Clifford 20. Harrison Edwards 21. Kyle Feldt 22. Jaxon Purdue

Analysis: Despite not exactly exploding for owners, Scott Drinkwater remains a good buy at $722k with an average of 75 and a breakeven of 89.

He’s scored under 48 just once, which was a 39 point effort against Penrith.

Do note he only covers the first of the three major bye rounds which most teams are fairly well set up for, so he may not be essential by any means.

I was eyeing off Tom Dearden until Cam Munster went down, meaning the Cowboys playmaker will more than likely play Origin.

There’s a few out there selling Valentine Holmes, I wouldn’t despite a regression over the last month with a three round average of just 55.

At $653k, he’s lost a fair bit of value and should only miss round 16 and 19 over Origin barring injury.

He’s averaging 75 this season and is a keeper, although non-owners can probably wait until after the Origin period to buy.

Heilum Luki has bottomed out at $380k with a breakeven of 27.

He played 60 minutes on the weekend which could be 80 in round 13 with Jeremiah Nanai likely on Origin duty.

I think he’s a good buy if you can ignore his injury history, which is very hard to do.

Tigers: 1. Jahream Bula 2. Charlie Staines 3. Declan Casey 4. Josh Feledy 5. Solomon Alaimalo 6. Lachlan Galvin 7. Jayden Sullivan 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Apisai Koroisau 10. David Klemmer 11. Isaiah Papali’i 12. Samuela Fainu 13. Justin Matamua

Bench: 14. Jake Simpkin 15. Alex Twal 16. Alex Seyfarth 17. Fonua Pole

Reserves: 18. Sione Fainu 19. Alexander Lobb 20. Tallyn Da Silva 21. Tony Sukkar 22. Solomona Faataape

Analysis: Api Koroisau bounced back to form after an extremely lean period, scoring 78 against the Rabbitohs and regaining the goal-kicking duties most importantly.

He may miss Origin selection which would mean he’d cover round 16 and 19 which are the two hardest bye rounds.

At just $494k, I’d eye him as a round 16 bye potentially if he did miss Origin.

With no standout halves to pick from at the moment, Lachlan Galvin is probably a hold until round 20 due to bye coverage.

He has scored 45+ in all bar one game this season, a 35 against the Panthers…

He’s basing 31 which is outstanding for an 18-year-old five-eighth, or any five-eighth for that matter.

He’s $471k with a breakeven of 13 and has an incredible upcoming run against the Cowboys, bye, Dragons, Titans and Raiders where he’s very playable in 17s across that period.

He’s averaging 57 points this season with no tries and just four try-assists.

Samuela Fainu has been named despite an injury concern last weekend, while Isaiah Papali’i returns from suspension on the edge.

SEA EAGLES v STORM

Friday, 8pm, 4 Pines Park, Sydney

Sea Eagles: 1. Tolutau Koula 2. Jason Saab 3. Tommy Talau 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Raymond Tuiamalo Vaega 6. Luke Brooks 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Taniela Paseka 9. Karl Lawton 10. Josh Aloiai 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Ben Trbojevic 13. Jake Trbojevic

Bench: 14. Gordon Chan Kum Tong 15. Corey Waddell 16. Ethan Bullemor 17. Nathan Brown

Reserves: 18. Aaron Woods 19. Jakob Arthur 20. Jaxson Paulo 21. Lehi Hopoate 22. Toafofoa Sipley

Analysis: Tolutau Koula excelled in his first game at fullback scoring 79 points in a low-scoring encounter with the Broncos.

He’s $493k, with a breakeven of 9 with dual FLB-CTW positioning.

He’s a solid buy this week, but I’m not convinced it’s urgent with a game against Melbourne into the bye, into Penrith.

I’m more than happy to wait either till after the bye or even after the Penrith game and if it means picking him up for $50k more in two weeks so be it.

Manly play the second two major bye rounds so he does look a great buy at any stage moving forward.

For the same reason, and with Haumole Olakau’atu likely on Origin duties, Ben Trbojevic is a hold until the end of the bye period with the very handy dual 2RF-CTW positioning.

Broncos at Suncorp, no Tommy Turbo, no problem for Reuben Garrick

He knocked out 101, the man just knows how to get it done.

Storm: 1. Sualauvi Faalogo 2. William Warbrick 3. Reimis Smith 4. Nick Meaney 5. Xavier Coates 6. Tyran Wishart 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Tui Kamikamica 9. Harry Grant 10. Christian Welch 11. Shawn Blore 12. Eliesa Katoa 13. Josh King

Bench: 14. Trent Loiero 15. Grant Anderson 16. Nelson Asofa-Solomona 17. Alec MacDonald

Reserves: 18. Bronson Garlick 19. Jack Howarth 20. Joe Chan 21. Dean Ieremia 22. Tristan Powell

Analysis: Sua Faalogo gave us a glimpse of what he’ll provide for Supercoaches for many years with 90 points in the big win over the Eels.

It could easily have been far more also.

He’s $390k with a breakeven of -4 and looks a terrific buy, but not one without some risk.

The one concern is the potential early return of Ryan Papenhuyzen in round 14 after Melbourne’s bye which could see Faalogo drop out or even to a restricted minute bench role.

That being said, even if Papi did come back there’s every chance Xavier Coates gets rested after Origin and Faalogo plays on the wing.

With his extreme scoring upside and the low price, it’s one that’s probably just worth taking a punt on at the risk of missing out.

Harry Grant belted out 116 in his biggest score of the season.

He’s very affordable at $665k with a breakeven of 46, but with Origin looming where he historically doesn’t score the best, I’m not convinced on the trade.

He has no Papenhuyzen, Hughes or Munster which are huge outs.

In four games during the Origin period last season, he had scores of 34, 123, 48 and 73.

Melbourne weren’t flying as high and didn’t have great hooker coverage last year so he averaged 77 minutes in that period which I’d be a bit surprised if he did again.

In 2022 in the Origin period he had a five game average of 58.8.

Eli Katoa is on a tear with a season average of 75 points.

He’s gone to a new level this season and still managed to crack out 108 points without his main man Jahrome Hughes feeding him at Suncorp.

He’s $719k with a breakeven of 23 and is a good buy at any time, but with the bye next week I’m eyeing him for round 14.

Looking for for the best rate on your home loan? Paddy and George from Mortgage Choice SCW can get you the best rate possible. It’s a super easy process, so flick them a message. Better yet, save $129 by mentioning SC Playbook for a FREE CONSULT!

Owned by just 3.5% I’m somewhat tempted by Tyran Wishart as a super POD for the bye period.

With Cameron Munster out long-term, he looks to have the halves spot sewn up.

He’s $381k with a breakeven of -7 and is dual 5/8-HFB which makes him a great player to switch with Dylan Brown in the halves.

Granted it’s a limited sample size, but he has some of the best base for a halves player in Supercoach.

Here are his five 80 minute games in the halves across this year and last.

2024

Round 11 v Eels: 40 points with 26 in base

Round 10 v Sharks: 85 with 38 in base

Round 3 v Knights: 84 with 41 in base

2023

Round 27 v Broncos: 78 points with 40 in base (both teams mass rested)

Round 2 v Bulldogs: 40 points with 30 in base

He has plenty of runs and busts a lot of tackles in a gun Storm team, I’m genuinely considering him.

Jahrome Hughes has been named to return early from injury and becomes a serious option at halfback.

Cameron Munster is out long-term and is a sell.

RAIDERS v ROOSTERS

Saturday, 3pm, GIO Stadium, Canberra

Raiders: 1. Jordan Rapana 2. Nick Cotric 3. Matthew Timoko 4. Sebastian Kris 5. Xavier Savage 6. Ethan Strange 7. Kaeo Weekes 8. Emre Guler 9. Danny Levi 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Hudson Young 12. Elliott Whitehead 13. Morgan Smithies

Bench: 14. Tom Starling 15. Ata Mariota 16. Trey Mooney 17. Peter Hola

Reserves: 18. Albert Hopoate 19. Zac Woolford 20. Simi Sasagi 21. Michael Asomua 22. Hohepa Puru

Analysis: Despite playing the first two major bye rounds I don’t have a lot of interest in the Raiders.

Lots are jumping on Kaeo Weekes at $348k with a -28 breakeven with dual FLB-5/8 positioning.

He’s been great the last two weeks with scores of 67 and 69.

While he’s not for me, I think he’s an okay buy but I’d avoid playing him in 17s as much as possible.

Embed from Getty Images

Roosters: 1. James Tedesco 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii 4. Joseph Manu 5. Dominic Young 6. Luke Keary 7. Sam Walker 8. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves 9. Brandon Smith 10. Lindsay Collins 11. Angus Crichton 12. Victor Radley 13. Naufahu Whyte

Bench: 14. Sandon Smith 15. Egan Butcher 16. Spencer Leniu 17. Terrell May

Reserves: 18. Fetalaiga Pauga 19. Nat Butcher 20. Siua Wong 21. Zach Dockar-Clay 22. Ethan King

Analysis: Playing the first two major bye rounds, with a soft upcoming draw, the Roosters are arguably the most relevant team in Supercoach at the moment.

The Roosters have upcoming games against the Raiders, Cowboys, bye, Eels, Bulldogs, Tigers and Dragons. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Despite rising to $792k, I’d still be buying Dom Young as I feel non-owners risk getting left behind if they don’t own.

Joey Manu returns from a concussion, initially I thought he’d be a potential avoid if James Tedesco misses Origin which would see him miss that opportunity to play fullback.

However with that draw upcoming I think he’s close to a must-have regardless of price.

If Teddy does play Origin and Manu has games at fullback you’d be a lunatic not to own.

Assuming Angus Crichton gets picked for the Blues, he’d miss round 13, 14, 16 and 19 and with a tonne of Roosters forward depth he could get rested at any stage.

With likely a huge breakeven next week at around $900k I’m looking to cash in.

Sam Walker managed just 45 points for plenty who jumped on last weekend.

With the soft draw he remains a decent buy, but at 25% ownership there’s an opportunity to look elsewhere.

Be very cautious of round 14 with the Roosters on the bye as you won’t want to own too many and be left short on numbers.

Connor Watson is out for around a month with a throat injury.

SHARKS v PANTHERS

Saturday, 5:30pm, PointsBet Stadium, Cronulla

Sharks: 1. William Kennedy 2. Sione Katoa 3. Jesse Ramien 4. Kayal Iro 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Daniel Atkinson 7. Nicho Hynes 8. Thomas Hazelton 9. Blayke Brailey 10. Oregon Kaufusi 11. Briton Nikora 12. Teig Wilton 13. Cameron McInnes

Bench: 14. Jack Williams 15. Siosifa Talakai 16. Royce Hunt 17. Tuku Hau Tapuha

Reserves: 18. Mawene Hiroti 19. Billy Burns 20. Samuel Healey 21. Samuel Stonestreet 22. Braydon Trindall

Analysis: With wins over the Roosters and Storm in recent weeks, the Sharks have proven they’re the real deal in the NRL and in Supercoach.

The draw does remain tough though with games against the Panthers, Eels (missing at least Hynes to Origin) and Broncos.

Basing a monumental 41 per game, Kayal Iro is a hold until at least round 19 and possibly the season.

Imagine being the one person in Supercoach that doesn’t own him (face palm)…

Briton Nikora hasn’t been at his Supercoach best this season with an average of just 56 which doesn’t scream buy me.

With Nicho likely out next week due to Origin, he does change the complexion of this team a lot, despite the fact they beat the Storm without him.

I’ll see how they get through this Penrith clash, see who gets picked for Origin, then assess from next week.

Embed from Getty Images

Panthers: 1. Dylan Edwards 2. Sunia Turuva 3. Izack Tago 4. Paul Alamoti 5. Brian To’o 6. Jack Cole 7. Jarome Luai 8. Moses Leota 9. Mitch Kenny 10. James Fisher-Harris 11. Scott Sorensen 12. Liam Martin 13. Isaah Yeo

Bench: 14. Daine Laurie 15. Lindsay Smith 16. Liam Henry 17. Matt Eisenhuth

Reserves: 18. Mavrik Geyer 19. Soni Luke 20. Trent Toelau 21. Jesse McLean 22. Tyrone Peachey

Analysis: Dylan Edwards enjoyed another day out despite being on a rare losing Penrith team.

He belted out 120 points for new owners.

People are flocking to him this week and as good a buy as he looks, there are some red flags.

Well, there’s one red flag and that’s it. Origin.

If he gets picked for the Blues he’ll miss round 13, 16 and 19 at a minimum and I’d be quite surprised if Ivan Cleary opted to back him up from all three of those games.

He’s a great buy, but just be aware you may have $938k sitting there unplayed for numerous weeks.

With a breakeven of 96 and an away game against the ladder-leading Sharks I think it can wait a week to see if he gets picked for the Blues.

Izack Tago is a really curious case, he’s one of those players that you feel should average 75+ with his stats but he just doesn’t.

He’s averaging 34 in base and has scored 30+ in base in all bar one game this season which was his sin-binning a few weeks back against the Rabbitohs.

He’s scored five tries, has had 10 linebreaks and 41 tacklebreaks this season but is averaging just 60 points.

Take out his 145 point score against the Eels where an early injury saw him mark up on a back-rower and he’s averaging just 52.5.

In 14 games last season he averaged 68.4 with 10 tries, five try-assists, 52 tacklebreaks and 36 in base.

Available at 5/8 only, Jack Cole is $209k with a breakeven of 0.

RABBITOHS v EELS

Saturday, 7:35pm, Accor Stadium, Sydney

Rabbitohs: 1. Latrell Mitchell 2. Alex Johnston 3. Taane Milne 4. Michael Chee Kam 5. Jacob Gagai 6. Jack Wighton 7. Cody Walker 8. Davvy Moale 9. Damien Cook 10. Sean Keppie 11. Jacob Host 12. Jai Arrow 13. Keaon Koloamatangi

Bench: 14. Peter Mamouzelos 15. Tallis Duncan 16. Siliva Havili 17. Thomas Burgess

Reserves: 18. Dion Teaupa 19. Izaac Tu’itupou Thompson 20. Matthew French 21. Adam Christensen 22. Bayleigh Bentley-Hape

Analysis: Latrell Mitchell has returned from suspension with scores of 107 and 70 and is a genuine option at fullback at $728k.

What is truly remarkable is that he’s based just 14 and 17 in those games with just nine runs each game.

The Rabbitohs play the second two major bye rounds and have games upcoming against the Eels, bye, Titans, Broncos and Sea Eagles.

The concern is Origin selection which would see him miss round 13, 16, 17 and 19 if selected.

Reports are that he may make himself unavailable but there’s been nothing official yet, so who knows?

Wait for news on his Origin availability which you’d hope we’ll get sometime this week, granted he’s no lock to get selected anyway.

Cody Walker bounced back to form against the Cowboys with a season-high 99 points.

At $543k, he’s caught the eye of plenty, and as fun as he is to own he’s not been great this year with an average of just 54.

The Supercoach stats aren’t great, in his past five games he’s had seven try-assists, seven linebreak assists and one try for an average of just 59 points.

He’s also in the running still to be the NSW Blues 5/8 which would make him an avoid.

I think he’s one to monitor for round 14 after the bye provided he misses Origin selection.

Last week’s very popular cheapie Jacob Gagai scored just 17 points…

Jack Wighton has been moved to five-eighth and will be a big watch. If this shift Cody Walker to the right edge it’ll make him less appealing.

Embed from Getty Images

Eels: 1. Blaize Talagi 2. Maika Sivo 3. Viliami Penisini 4. Sean Russell 5. Bailey Simonsson 6. Daejarn Asi 7. Dylan Brown 8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard 9. Joey Lussick 10. Junior Paulo 11. Shaun Lane 12. Ryan Matterson 13. J’maine Hopgood

Bench: 14. Bryce Cartwright 15. Makahesi Makatoa 16. Joe Ofahengaue 17. Kelma Tuilagi

Reserves: 18. Brendan Hands 19. Morgan Harper 20. Ethan Sanders 21. Wiremu Greig 22. Luca Moretti

Analysis: Blaize Talagi is lighting up despite the underwhelming team around him.

He has back-to-back scores of 102 and 93 to sit at $410k with a breakeven of -68.

The Eels also cover two major bye rounds in round 13 and 19.

If he continues this form it may even see Gutho eased back through centre.

Dylan Brown was handed dual HFB-5/8 positioning this week which opens up plenty more options at 5/8 for those holding Nathan Cleary, Shaun Johnson and Jahrome Hughes.

I actually think the latter two are holds for their expected round 14 return.

If J’maine Hopgood misses Origin he’ll be a great pick-up.

BRONCOS v TITANS

Sunday, 2pm, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane

Broncos: 1. Reece Walsh 2. Corey Oates 3. Josiah Karapani 4. Selwyn Cobbo 5. Deine Mariner 6. Ezra Mam 7. Jock Madden 8. Corey Jensen 9. Billy Walters 10. Payne Haas 11. Brendan Piakura 12. Jordan Riki 13. Patrick Carrigan

Bench: 14. Tyson Smoothy 15. Xavier Willison 16. Kobe Hetherington 17. Jack Gosiewski

Reserves: 18. Joshua Rogers 19. Fletcher Baker 20. Blake Mozer 21. Martin Taupau 22. Jaiyden Hunt

Analysis: Reece Walsh returns for a tantalising clash with the Titans.

There’s not much Supercoach interest at the Broncos due to a poor bye period schedule, and their main options in Walsh, Payne Haas, Pat Carrigan and potentially Selwyn Cobbo set for Origin duties.

Some took a punt on Jock Madden as a Cleary replacement last week, he knocked out a respectable 60 points which is in line with his season average.

Brendan Piakura is dirt cheap at $404k having bottomed out following numerous injury impacted scores.

He played 75 minutes and is a buy option, although Brisbane miss the first two major bye rounds so coverage isn’t great.

Kotoni Staggs is out.

Titans: 1. Keano Kini 2. Alofiana Khan-Pereira 3. Brian Kelly 4. Jojo Fifita 5. Tony Francis 6. Chris Randall 7. Thomas Weaver 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Sam Verrills 10. Josiah Pahulu 11. David Fifita 12. Beau Fermor 13. Klese Haas

Bench: 14. Keenan Palasia 15. Isaac Liu 16. Erin Clark 17. Joe Stimson

Reserves: 18. Jacob Alick-wiencke 19. Kieran Foran 20. Iszac Fa’asumaleaui 21. Arama Hau 22. Jaylan De Groot

Analysis: With a five round average of 97, David Fifita is simply a beast.

Despite that, at $887k I think the ship may have sailed on him until after Origin.

In an understrength Titans outfit the Broncos are a daunting task this week.

From round 13 onwards, he will play a maximum three games of a possible seven.

He could play the full 80 for the Maroons which could see him rested, or at the least playing very limited minutes.

If I didn’t own, I’d be avoiding until after Origin.

With a soft draw, Brian Kelly is a bye round super POD from round 14 onwards after the Titans bye.

Josiah Pahulu starts at prop for the injured Jaimin Joliffe who is out long term with a pec injury.

Pahulu is a watch this week at $247k on minutes and output but could plug a cheapie FRF spot moving forward.

WARRIORS v DOLPHINS

Sunday, 4:05pm, Go Media Stadium, Auckland

Warriors: 1. Taine Tuaupiki 2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 3. Rocco Berry 4. Adam Pompey 5. Marcelo Montoya 6. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 7. Te Maire Martin 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 9. Freddy Lussick 10. Bunty Afoa 11. Jackson Ford 12. Mitchell Barnett 13. Dylan Walker

Bench: 14. Tom Ale 15. Jazz Tevaga 16. Jacob Laban 17. Marata Niukore

Reserves: 18. Paul Roache 20. Chanel Harris-Tavita 21. Zyon Maiu’u 22. Edward Kosi 23. Moala Graham-Taufa

Analysis: The Warriors bounced back from a horror run of form with a huge upset win over Penrith last week.

It was only one week though, and they still have a number of stars out, so I wouldn’t consider buying anyone this week.

They have the round 13 bye, then have a host of guns set to return so let’s reassess from there.

Wayde Egan is out due to a concussion.

Dolphins: 1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 2. Jamayne Isaako 3. Jake Averillo 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Jack Bostock 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Isaiya Katoa 8. Jesse Bromwich 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Mark Nicholls 11. Felise Kaufusi 12. Euan Aitken 13. Max Plath

Bench: 14. Josh Kerr 15. Kenny Bromwich 16. Ray Stone 17. Connelly Lemuelu

Reserves: 18. Oryn Keeley 19. Sean O’Sullivan 20. Jarrod Wallace 21. Kurt Donoghoe 22. Trai Fuller

Analysis: In his first 80-minute game of the season, Connelly Lemuelu scored 96 points to sit at $536k with a breakeven of 3.

If he has indeed locked down an 80 minute role he’s a bye-period super POD.

With the return of Max Plath he’s been moved to the bench where he was named last week before starting on game day.

He’ll only be relevant if playing the full 80.

Back-row partner Euan Aitken has flown entirely under the radar this season, averaging a healthy 63 points with 53 in base and a low score of 50.

He has a five round average of 69 points and has just one try to his name this year, with plenty of attacking ability there’s more to come.

At $641k, he’s a great super POD play for the bye period.

Jeremy Marshall-King scored 81 against the Tigers and is probably the pick of the hooking options for anyone needing a No.9 throughout the bye period.

Jamayne Isaako’s 150 point score three weeks ago feels like three years ago.

He’s had back-to-back scores of 45 and 41 to sit with an enormous breakeven of 166!

I think this is what we’ll get with him this season, with three tonnes and five scores in the 40s.

The Dolphins tend to have plenty of success down one edge each week and just pepper it.

He comes up against a weak left edge for the Warriors this week so perhaps the next tonne is incoming?

If you’re a head-to-head focused player that doesn’t play the major bye rounds you can sell, but I think owners just need to ride the highs with the lows and hold him for his amazing bye coverage.
