NRL Late Mail Round 13: Cole Cleared, Moses & Gutho Locked In

Our NRL late mail man Adam Stiles runs through all the last minute team changes leading into Round 13.

NRL

Well damn, even the expanded X character limit couldn’t handle some of the game day changes for Indigenous round.

The Warriors in particular had potentially the most chaotic update I’ve ever delivered, after a somewhat straightforward beginning to the weekend.

But with the shortened first bye now upon us there are less players and teams to monitor, but each warm body in our SuperCoach sides is worth their weight in gold so it becomes even more important that they hit the field.

Disclaimer: This will be my last article until round 16 as I’ll be jet-setting to Singapore and Thailand for a fortnight’s break.

Those who were around the SCTalk traps will know just how excited I am to say this, but we’ve revived our boy Lakey/Semisonic as the next man up, who will be bringing you the lovingly branded ‘Lake Mail’ for the next two weeks.

As usual, all the updates across the round will come via @scplaybook1 on X/Twitter and Instagram, however I’ll be off the clock from Friday night but all systems should be normal between Tim and Lakey.

Godspeed gentlemen.

EELS

I don’t know how I feel about Joe Ofahengaue and Junior Paulo both being named to start, but it’s a new era in Parramatta.

The 24 hour cuts were uneventful which locks in Clint Gutherson and Mitch Moses, so not expecting any major changes this week – unforeseen position swaps not withstanding.

24 hour cuts: Harper, Lussick, Matterson

SHARKS

The Sharks are named according to their Origin outs so not expecting any major changes here, should be 1-17.

24 hours cuts: Hau Tapuha, Puru, Berrell

KNIGHTS

Fresh off a bye with nobody in doubt, though a prop swap is never out of the question. 1-17 likely.

BULLDOGS

A few forced game day changes last week which I’m hoping settles in round 13. Not predicting anything major at this stage.

PANTHERS

Jack Cole was in some doubt with a hamstring issue but he has been cleared to play.

Brad Schneider is named a week or two ahead of schedule with his knee injury so based on that I assume he’s questionable and will need to make it through captain’s run.

DRAGONS

A surprising 1-17 last round after shelving their usual forward rotation policy on game day, however it is never out of the question.

Mikaele Ravalawa is on the extended bench but I’m unsure if he’ll come into calculations.

DOLPHINS

No changes expected at this stage for the Dolphins, should be 1-17.

RAIDERS

With Josh Papali’i returning I could see the Raiders reverting to their usual game day swap of him to the bench with Emre Guler starting at prop.

ROOSTERS

Ran out 1-17 last round so expecting more of the same here with nobody in doubt and Luke Keary likely released from Origin duties.

That bench makeup seems quite dubious however so bringing an extra middle forward in on game day wouldn’t surprise.

COWBOYS

Another side named according to Origin outs and injuries, so I’m not expecting any changes at this stage.
