Michael Fisher
SC expert, NRL best 9th overall, BBL 14th
We shortlist the Supercoach BBL players whose stocks are rising and falling across every position for the current week.
BBLWith three rounds to go and one team with a double remaining (Hurricanes), we can increase our focus on single game players, particularly allrounders to maximise scoring opportunities.
Targets are prioritised by points potential rather than value, so factor that in when considering your trade options.
Also keep an eye on the weather forecast when making your trade plans.
The Sixers vs Scorchers game in particular is looking dubious, which is unfortunate with plenty of options from these teams otherwise.

Ben McDermott – Hobart Hurricanes
Alex Carey – Adelaide Strikers
Added: Alex Carey
Carey ($167.5k) could be an option for anyone willing to spend up in the wicketkeeper position. He averages nearly 35 with the bat in BBL, which is outstanding.
I’d still prefer Wade or McDermott given their round 8 double though. Keep an eye out this round to see if McDermott moves up the order at all. If not, Wade looks the better pick based on role.

Beau Webster – Melbourne Stars
Jack Edwards – Sydney Sixers
Matt Short – Adelaide Strikers (if available)
Nikhil Chaudhary – Hobart Hurricanes
Michael Neser – Brisbane Heat
Cooper Connolly – Perth Scorchers
Hayden Kerr – Sydney Sixers
Dan Christian – Sydney Thunder
Mitch Owen – Hobart Hurricanes
Steve Smith – Sydney Sixers
Aaron Hardie – Perth Scorchers
Mitch Marsh – Perth Scorchers (when available)
Joel Davies – Sydney Sixers
Added: Beau Webster, Dan Christian, Steve Smith, Aaron Hardie, Mitch Marsh, Joel Davies

How good was it to see the pro Dan Christian back in action? He’s another whose role looks great. Keep an eye on final team lists but he could be the best cheapie of round 7.
We can’t forget what Steve Smith did 2 seasons ago when he averaged 123 SC points. He’ll cost you at $218.4k, which will keep him in POD territory. Not for me as a bat only, but I couldn’t knock anyone for such a bold play.
Far more affordable is Aaron Hardie at around $120k. He moved to the top of the order and was seen bowling during warmups last round, which is something at least! I traded him in upon this news and I still like the play. I’d favour Hardie over Mitch Marsh, unless Bison starts to roll the arm over when made available again by the Scorchers after missing the squad for the Sixers game.
Keep an eye out for Joel Davies after Akeal Hosein leaves. He’s a talented allrounder at close to bottom dollar who could kick on if his role is good enough.
Removed: Jamie Overton, Jacob Bethell
Jamie Overton is set to depart after round 7 or round 8, more likely round 8. I wouldn’t be trading him in, but he can be held provided you can plan for some cash loss with a big breakeven.
Jacob Bethell will also be departing to play for England, so is probably not worth trading in just for the two rounds max.
Moved up: Michael Neser
Passing the eye test bowling his 4 overs and batting at 7, Nes is an excellent trade target for the run home. Even better is that we can get him in a bat slot.
Moved down: Cooper Connolly
Dropping to 4 in the batting order and potentially competing for overs with Hardie and Marsh somewhat decreases Cooper’s appeal. Probably a hold if you already own but now less of a trade target. Marsh is out of the Sixers clash which helps.

Nathan Ellis – Hobart Hurricanes
Riley Meredith – Hobart Hurricanes
Billy Stanlake – Hobart Hurricanes
Tom Rogers – Melbourne Renegades
Jhye Richardson – Perth Scorchers
Ben Dwarshuis – Sydney Sixers
Sean Abbott – Sydney Sixers
Jason Behrendorff – Perth Scorchers
Xavier Bartlett – Brisbane Heat
One option for this round is to stash any Hurricanes for their double. It’s a close call between all the other gun bowlers. I’d favour Rogers for his matchup against the Stars.
Added: Tom Rogers
Removed: Lance Morris
Rogers should never have gone off the Watchlist! His batting has been the kicker. Even though he’s been coming in at 8 he’s getting plenty of opportunity to go with bowling the key overs for the Renegades. If you’re looking to get him for the run home / H2H finals, now could be the time before his price skyrockets.
Given they’re all now priced similarly, I’d prefer Jhye/Behro to Lance Morris, based on roles.
