The Random Stats Guy analyses the player ownership of the top NRL Supercoach teams in Round 6, 2025.

NRL

Analysing the NRL Supercoach ownership of players across the top teams heading into the last week of Supercoach.

To make life easier when identifying true ownership of NRL Supercoach players, each week we’ll break it down into ranking brackets.

Whether you’re chasing ranks, or playing it safe up top, it’ll help identify the best ways to try and achieve your Supercoach goals.

The tables below sets out the proportion of Supercoach teams in the top 1%, top 5%, top 10% and overall that own each player.

This season, there are over 150,000 Supercoach teams, so top 1% would be roughly the top 1500 teams, top 5% is the top 7,500 teams and top 10% is top 15,000 teams.

Let’s take a look at the ownership of players heading into Round 7.

Fullback (excluding DPP)

Ryan Papenhuyzen has soared into the most owned fullback amongst the top 10% ranked teams after rewarding owners (especially those that captained him) with a season-high 136 points.

He is the 3rd most traded-in player this week with most Supercoaches trading out Kalyn Ponga after he produced consecutive scores in the 30s.

James Tedesco has also attracted some interest as the 6th most traded-in player ahead of Round 7.

He boasts a 91.7 average in the last 3 games and has the Panthers (who he scored 119 against earlier this season), Dragons and Dolphins to come.

However, Origin selection may be back on the cards considering the form of Dylan Edwards and the Panthers at the moment, which probably makes his match-up this week even more appealing.

CTW

After most Supercoaches (including myself) sold Jaxon Purdue following his opening scores of 28 and 36, he is come back to haunt us with a 3-round average of 86.7 including a season-high 121 last week vs Rabbitohs.

He does have the bye this week, however his next matches come up against the Titans, Warriors and Panthers – an outside back’s dream!

Mawene Hiroti is the most traded-in player with 12,000+ Supercoaches already making the move trading out Gehamat Shibasaki.

Hiroti is a short-term cash grab with Kayal Iro likely to return in Round 9. He is expected to jump $96k this week against the Knights with a breakeven of -61.

Billy Smith is the 4th most traded-in player this week and is of similar price to HirotI but has much-better job security – seeing that Mark Nawaqanitawase sat out last week.

Smith has scored 79 and 76 already this season, albeit scoring 3 tries across those matches. However, with Penrith, Dragons and Dolphins up next he might be worth more than Hiroti!

5/8

Jayden Campbell somehow found his way to 83 points after a big loss to the Dragons, but that might be the most attractive reason to buy him.

0 points for tries or try assists, yet 22 points in tackle breaks, 8 for offloads, 10 for hit ups >8m and 21 for tackles – if this is a “bad game” for him and the Titans then I’ll take!

HLF

Not much happening in the world of halfbacks in terms of point-scoring with DCE topping the list with 72 courtesy of a junk-time try against the Sharks.

Nathan Cleary didn’t score 100+ in the first 6 rounds of a season for the first time since 2019, but he has now bottomed-out in price at $640k.

With Jahrome Hughes injured, Cleary has to be a buy for the 48% of Supercoaches who don’t own him because it’s only up from here.

2RF

Dylan Egan owners were ecstatic to hear an hour before kick off on Friday that he would start at left 2nd row.

Not only did he start, but he played the full 80 minutes scoring a try, making 45 tackles and 21 hit ups , and rising $111k in price.

He is the 2nd most traded-in player this week and will be a great cash grab in the next fortnight with a breakeven of -55 this week and projected price rise of $87k.

Naufahu Whyte had a promising start to the season but dropped his lowest score of the year last week against the Broncos with 37.

Here has been the gateway to Dyl Egan, as the 4th most traded-out player this week.

FRF

Once again, the front row combo of Payne Haas and Terrell May are a non-brainer this season with 99% of the top 1% ranked teams owning both.

For those daring enough to go against the grain, Joseph Tapine has put his hand up as POD play with scores of 92, 91 and 103 since coming back from suspension.

He will be a must come Origin period, particularly if both May and Haas earn selection for NSW.

HOK

Connor Watson was given the full 80 minutes at hooker, with poor old Zach Docker-Clay unused on the bench last week.

That was good news for owners though as he punched out 78 points. His other two scores when playing 80 mins this season have been 55 and 103 (against the Panthers).

Tom Starling was starting to drop off, however he found another gear in the heat and humidity of Darwin dancing around tired Eels defenders for 77 points, his 2nd highest score of the season.

This has thrown any idea Supercoaches had of what Ricky plans to do with him and Pattie out the window.

A big gamble to keep him but he is does have a 27 breakeven this week vs Titans.
