Former SuperCoach runner-up, EPL expert
Former Supercoach runner-up and Newcastle United tragic, Steve Nikolovski reveals his inaugural Supercoach EPL team.
EPLSo you’ve made it this far, and you’re stepping into the treacherous waters of Supercoach EPL with me.
There are a couple of things to note before you start splashing the $100M.
First things first, do not pick Kelleher ($8.02M) or Dubravka ($7.91M) at those prices.
They were both backup keepers playing for top sides, so they are largely overpriced.
Kelleher has since moved clubs to Brentford, but that is a massive drop-off from Liverpool.
Finally, on keepers, Martinez ($5.73M) from Aston Villa is banned for GW1, and that is not shown in the game yet, but his 8% ownership is!
Next thing, put Rodri ($3.75M) into your team straight away.
He is severely discounted due to injury last season, and he is the man who makes Manchester City tick.
He should be 100% owned at that price and is an absolute steal.

I’ve opted for 3-4-3 and what should be the best defence in the league in the keeper position with Arsenal’s David Raya, so I won’t have to worry about fixtures or trading in this position for the season unless he gets injured.
Leeds have bought a new keeper so Darlow will likely become my loop option for captaincy if he’s not the #1.
In defence, I like van Dijk for security of minutes plus attacking threat from set pieces, same goes for Ait-Nouri, who scored well with Wolves and has since moved to Man City.
Micky van de Ven has a cool name and plays for Spurs, who are expected to be better defensively under Thomas Frank, plus he’s got a great attacking threat.
In midfield, I’ve gone for Cole Palmer and Bruno Fernandes, who are the penalty takers for their sides and should score well irrespective of the opponent.
Adingra has Premier League experience with Brighton, playing with Sunderland now, and they are being tipped to be a very aggressive side after gaining promotion through the playoffs.
As stated earlier, Rodri is a must-have and an easy fieldable option. These two allow me to spend big elsewhere in my midfield.
Speaking of City, I have opted for the Norwegian robot up front (Haaland) who should play all games even though they are in Europe and is on penalties.
Wirtz is an exciting new signing for Liverpool and is expected to be on corners and some set pieces with Trent now gone.
He could make a mockery of his price, and I’ve opted for him over Mohamed Salah ($15.55M).
Marc Guiu has moved from Chelsea to Sunderland on loan and is expected to be the main man for them in the front third.
The bench is very thin, with my plan being to start a strong XI and have the cheap guys on the pine that are at least playing and making some money.
We also have to factor in trading guys to make a profit, like we do in other Supercoach formats.
This makes the 44 trades available even skinnier!

Fading him is ballsy, but I’m seeing how they settle with a brand-new team, and they have their toughest fixture run early doors.
He had a record-breaking season last time out and is priced as such.
Don’t forget players have break evens and will drop or make cash!
Mainoo is 30% owned at the time of writing, and I’m not convinced he’s the first choice at Manchester United.
He most recently started but only had 57 minutes in the summer series vs Everton.
Embed from Getty ImagesHojland is also 21% owned, and there’s trade speculation with him after the arrival of Cunha and Mbuemo.
Lewis-Skelly might be the first choice at Arsenal, but being MID instead of DEF worries me at 22% owned.
Frimpong at 38% is interesting as he may not start ahead of Bradley initially.
He’s so attacking, so if he’s in the side, he’ll probably be in mine too.
Destiny Udogie is battling an injury and may not start GW1 for Spurs, yet he’s currently 32% owned.

If he becomes the new #1 at City over Ederson he instantly becomes a must-have.
He only conceded 16 times in the Championship last season with Burnley which is outrageous behaviour.
Victor Gyokeres ($7.5M)
Comes in very cheap for someone with his talents.
If he hits the ground running with Arsenal, look out at that price.
Dominic Solanke ($7.27M)
With Son now departing for LA Galaxy, he could be the new penalty taker at Spurs.
He’s just currently out with injury, so watch his pre-season closely.
You’ve now got the foundation to start your team.
Choose wisely and good luck!
