Supercoach EPL 2025/26: Best Cheapies To Start With

Former AFL Supercoach runner-up and Newcastle United tragic, Steve Nikolovski analyses the best Supercoach EPL cheapies

EPL

A big part of us getting to full premium, as per other Supercoach codes, is cheap-priced players.

Guys who are going to hopefully skyrocket in price and stay in our sides as keepers, or we can trade out of and bank coin to upgrade another with the traditional one-up one-down trading.

Important to note:

  • Prices won’t change until the player’s third match, so bubble-boys are a thing in EPL too!
  • The transfer window is open until GW3, so things can change quick!

To qualify as a cheap option for this article, you must be priced at $5mil or below.

I’m also looking at players who seem to be the first choice based off history/pre-season and avoiding those with clear rotation risks.

Let’s see what’s on offer.

Goalkeepers

Bart Verbruggen ($4.92m | Brighton)

The Seagulls’ shot stopper who averaged 4.7pts on last season’s stats.

Will be a popular option, but scores will be up and down dependent on fixtures.

Dorde Petrovic ($4.5m | Bournemouth)

Could be okay, but do you want to start someone who has Liverpool at Anfield first up?

Probably not, unless you are planning on rotating.

Lucas Perri ($4.5m | Leeds)

Seems to be the #1 ahead of Darlow (3.5mil) and Meslier (3.9mil), but I expect Leeds to ship plenty of goals as a promoted side, and the #1 could easily change with so many options.

Hakon Valdimarsson ($4.43m | Brentford)

Might only get a week or two from him with Kelleher in doubt to start the season with a knock.

Avoid.

James Trafford ($3.9m | Man City)

He was utterly huge in the Championship last season, conceding only 16 goals and made a big money move from Burnley to City.

He could win the spot over Ederson at some stage, but I doubt it’s from the start.

Altay Bayindr ($3.9m | Man United)

Will he keep his spot ahead of Onana, who is currently out with a hamstring injury?

I doubt it and will avoid starting, but Onana is a perennial whipping boy and rightly so with his howlers, so he could see action this season.

Robin Roefs ($3.9m | Sunderland)

Another promoted team who are specked to be very attacking, so clear avoid for me, unless you want a playing backup.

Defenders

Maxim De Cuyper ($5.0m | Brighton)

Left back who is very attacking and currently in my squad.

Scored against Wolfsburg in their latest friendly.

Pascal Struijk ($4.91m | Leeds)

A starting CB who is likely on penalties is very rare air.

Destiny Udogie (4.64mil Tottenham)

31% owned but in doubt to start the season with a muscle injury.

Watch and see for me and maybe one to jump on when on the bubble.

Patrick Dorgu ($4.4m | Man United) / Ayden Heaven ($4.2m | Man United) / Leny Yoro ($3.9m | Man United)

All have played regular minutes in the pre-season but seem at risk of rotation.

He could be a good option if they are named and you can rotate off the bench for good fixtures.

I’m not convinced enough to start any of them.

Kyle Walker (4.2mil Burnley)

Popular ex-City option against a promoted side first up.

Seemed a little washed at City, so will be interested to see how he performs.

Also, very injury-prone, so it’s a pass for me.

Lewis Dunk ($3.9m | Brighton)

Captain of the club who can head a goal in, but he is very injury-prone.

Might even play as a sub, so passing for now.

Maxime Esteve ($3.9m | Burnley)

Young French CB who will be good for defensive actions such as recoveries, but that’s about it.

He’ll play and is a good bench option.

Josh Acheampong ($3.75m | Chelsea)

The knee injury to Levi Colwill could open the door for him, but the PSR rules don’t seem to apply to Chelsea so they probably just buy someone.

Watch and see.

El Hadji Malick Diouf ($3.75m | West Ham)

I like him.

New left-wing back for the Hammers who scored 7 times and assisted 3 in 27 Liga appearances last season.

Also recently assisted in a pre-season friendly against Bournemouth.

Adrian Truffert ($3.75m | Bournemouth)

Looks to be the nailed LB at least to start the season.

Midfielders

Pape Matar Sarr ($4.99m | Tottenham)

Looks like he’s the Maddison replacement for Spurs unless they sign somebody.

I could see him being a handy pick to start with.

Simon Adringra ($4.6m | Sunderland) / Enzo Le Fee ($4.2m | Sunderland)

I’m hesitant to start either option, but they could be good if the team is attacking as reported they are.

Not sure Le Fee is nailed either.

Jack Harrison ($4.31m | Leeds)

Only had 1 goal in 34 starts for Everton last season on loan, so I don’t see the appeal at 9% owned.

He was even booed by his own fans against AC Milan in their friendly.

Could come good.

Kobbie Mainoo ($3.9m | Man United)

Only 20 years old but I have no idea why he’s 29% owned.

Not convinced he starts with their new signings.

Myles Lewis-Skelley (3.9mil Arsenal)

23% owned, but I don’t like that he’s a mid in this game, plus I can see plenty of rotation in a title-contending team.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (3.9mil Everton)

I like the pick.

He has moved from Chelsea on a 5-year deal and straight into the #10 position in pre-season.

Could be on some set pieces too.

Jack Grealish ($3.9m | Everton)

The loan move from Man City has only just happened.

Hasn’t really been playing much lately, so will probably need some time to get going.

Exciting pick, especially at the price, but I’m planning on him being a nice downgrade option.

Sean Longstaff ($3.9m | Leeds)

Newcastle have sold him to Leeds and he could be an option at some point, but their midfield is pretty stacked for a promoted side.

Rodri ($3.75m | Man City)

Easy pick for the calibre of player and the team he plays for, but currently not fit/injured.

I think it’s minor, and I might still pick him and save the transfer by bringing him in.

Forwards

Rodrigo Muniz ($4.93m | Fulham)

Whispers of moving on from the club, plus Raul Jimenez looks the main man up front if he does stay.

Niclas Fullkrug ($4.63m | West Ham)

Could do a lot worse and is in pre-season form.

Looks to be nailed up front with Bowen.

Joel Piroe (4.5mil Leeds)

26 attacking returns last season and seems to be the starting striker with minutes assured.

Rasmus Hojlund ($3.9m | Man United)

Huge pass with the arrival of Sesko.

His 20% ownership is crazy and should plummet.

Igor Thiago ($3.75m | Brentford)

Think he’ll be a very good bench option, but only if Wissa leaves, which seems likely.

Could be on pens then too.

Marc Giui (3.75mil Sunderland)

Seems a decent cheap option as he has a playing minutes clause in his loan contract.

I wouldn’t expect many points so bench only, unless he’s playing another promoted side.

Thanks for making it this far and I hope this has helped you finalise your side.

Let me know if you think I’ve missed anyone in the comments.
