Supercoach and EPL expert Niko, reveals who to watch, buy, hold and sell ahead of Supercoach EPL Round 6
EPLGW5 has come and gone, and I had what felt like a shocking week with 80 points, but I climbed the ranks ever so slightly.
The biggest mistake I made was putting the captain’s armband on Cole Palmer, who now looks like he’s also out a while.
But let’s look forward and not backwards to what trade options we have this weekend.

The Dutch defensive mid is on a heater right now and the top trade in this week.
My questions are how often can you keep going with the cash grabs in a limited trade game, and will his form in the front third continue?
I’m really torn on this one, but 1,754 managers are in no doubt.
Anton Stach (£7.01M, Leeds MID, B/E -7)
What a hit from the free kick.
You could consider riding the wave with three home games in the next four.
975 managers are.

The standout defender option this week, in my opinion.
Trading into Villa seems bad as they are really struggling, but they have been fine defensively.
There is also Europa League to monitor, which starts this week, but I think this guy will start most, if not all, league games.
Xavi Simons (£6M, Tottenham MID, B/E 0)
I was chuffed not to go early on him last week and seeing him on the substitutes bench when teams were announced.
However, what I saw from him in the number 10 role when he came on was very encouraging.
Hopefully that’s a sign of what’s the come, the fixtures are fantastic and he’s on set pieces.
It’s a long-term play.

A dire 0-0 against Newcastle had me questioning my will to live for a moment.
Bottom line is he just looks unreal, getting good chances, and is on penalties.
Could see him scoring a big one against Leeds, but you are paying up for that chance.
Tijjani Reijnders (£6.98M, Manchester City MID, B/E 2)
He’s played 90 minutes every match to date, so immune from Pep Roulette, for now.
With a game against Burnley at home, could this be the opportunity to rest, or beat up on a promoted team?
I’m not quite sure and am currently on the fence about the trade in, but I expect him to start and do well.

He’s the highest scoring midfielder in the game and has played 90 minutes every match so far, including Champions League.
Bruno Fernandes (£11.06M, Manchester United MID, B/E 10)
He’s a quality player who is doing plenty of defensive work and is on penalties.
Always times his run into the box perfectly too, so no issues recommending the trade in with Brentford and Sunderland up next.

With the news of Palmer likely out for between 3 to 6 weeks, I would hold in the hope for a spike score.
There really isn’t anyone in his price bracket or above to target anyway, and now he’s likely back on pens.
I’d just hold him and even consider the VC.
Marc Cucurella (£8.61M, Chelsea DEF, B/E 21)
It will be a long season where you run out of trades early if you keep selling your keepers.
Chalk it off to a bad game against Man United, where most things went wrong, and try again.
João Pedro (£11.04M, Chelsea FWD, B/E 18)
Will have a step up again with Palmer out, and he plays his old side at home this week.
Easy hold for mine despite the high breakeven.

To be honest, he could almost be a season-long keeper the way he is going.
I wouldn’t be moving him on before West Ham at home, but 536 people have at the time of writing.
Mohamed Salah (£10.91M, Liverpool FWD, B/E 12)
I think it’s fine to bring him in or watch for one more, as Palace away will not be easy.
He has shown glimpses of his best and could be ready to explode.
Fixtures up until the time he leaves for AFCON are good overall, especially between GW12-15 as he looks one of the best captain options during this period – Forest, West Ham, Sunderland, Leeds.

Not a bad matchup, but it’s clearly time to cash him in.
Has made a cool +£4.2M for me.
Cole Palmer (£11.45M, Chelsea MID, B/E 18)
News has broken that he is out injured for multiple weeks.
With Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures and the fact that he put four past Brighton once, the timing is very annoying.
I’m trying to see if I can hold him, but his minutes might get managed when he does return, so it seems silly to even consider, but he at least won’t lose any more money.
There’s no obvious long-term replacement for mine, outside of Bruno who I already own.

Thanks for the +£2.6M, but it’s time to go.
Man United at home is not scary, but he’s getting subbed early, and he may not even be on penalties.
I would be surprised if this wasn’t his peak price for some time, but his price also won’t fall off a cliff, so holding an extra week is ok.
El Hadji Malick Diouf (£7.77M, West Ham DEF, B/E 6)
His price has soared +£4m, which is fantastic, but it’s come from assists and not clean sheets, so it’s not sustainable IMO.
You could hold him another week and sell before Arsenal away.
Maxime Estève (£5.12M, Burnley DEF, B/E 0)
Selling someone with this breakeven seems crazy, but a negative score away to Man City would not surprise me in the slightest.
Man City are pretty good at breaking down the bus defences, especially with the Norwegian Robot in this kind of form.
