Final Word Week 15 | Supercoach EPL trades, captains, PODs

Oscar Henderson reveals his trades, captains, and point of difference players to consider for Supercoach EPL week 15

EPL

Our first midweek round of the year delivered in full force, with Supercoach points seeming to flow everywhere you looked.

The high scores started with Haaland and Foden both going 20+ in a 9-goal thriller, giving many managers the easiest vice-captain loop decision they will have all season.

It was a successful week for my team with an encouraging score of 157, which moved me up into 275th overall.

Feeling as though a few things didn’t go my way early in the season, it is nice to finally be building some momentum and gaining some ranks.

With no international breaks for the foreseeable future, and a pile of midweek matchweeks, Supercoach is about to get chaotic…

Trade Strategy

Throughout the majority of the season, my theory around trades has been to only trade when I have to.

Unfortunately, a flurry of injuries and under-performing players has still left me with just 27 trades to navigate through the remaining 23 rounds.

On a more promising note, I really like how my team is coming together.

My team value is $136 mil, which seems to be similar to many of those at the top of the ranks.

Selling high on a few guys coming of unsustainably impressive performances and price rises has seemed to work well on the cash generation front.

Looking at my team and their fixtures this week, I am definitely leaning towards not making a trade.

However, there are still a few trade options I am considering…

I traded in Morgan Gibbs-White about a month ago when he was basement price and yet to score a goal on the season.

I will claim it was a stroke of genius, but I must admit there was some luck involved as he went on to score in three games straight!

I did bench him for his goal against Liverpool, but nonetheless the Forrest man has been a great contributor to my side.

However, he now finds himself overvalued in my eyes at over $10 mil and likley to leak cash with a BE of 17.

Declan Rice is the main player on my radar.

I am yet to own the highest scoring midfielder in Supercoach this season, and it has definitely been a painful watch.

He is probably the most locked in player to start for the best team in the league, and his attacking potential from being on corners and set pieces poses enough threat in itself.

He did limp off late in their mid-week game vs Brentford, however all reports is that he is good to go.

Either way, Arsenal are playing the early kick off, so we will get there team news before trades have to be finalised.

Captaincy options

When spekaing about captaincy it is only fair we start off by mentioning Erling Haaland.

I don’t know if there will be a single week this season where I don’t have either the captaincy or vice-captaincy on him.

Unfortunately I don’t have a loop option this week, with my usual loop option being an Arsenal keeper, but they play the first game of the week.

Therefore, I will be straight captaining Haaland and hoping he continues his hot-run of form.

Although Sunderland have been much better than expected this season, City are at home, after just scoring 5, and need to continue to win if they are to stand any chance at catching Arsenal.

I expect Haaland to see some good chances to get on the score sheet.

If you do have a looping option, you could try vice-captaining one of your Arsenal assets like TImber, Rice or Saka, into Captain Haaland,

Even better, you could vice-captain Haaland into a potential captain of Munoz or Fernandes.

It is also only fair we mention Phil Foden as another potential captaincy option coming off back to back braces.

You would have to be a much braver man than me to favour Foden over Haaland though.

PODs

Nick Woltemade (NEW) 10% owned

The German forward has had an impressive start to his career for the Toon, already netting 5 premier league goals and an assist.

Sitting at just over $7 mil, with a negative breakeven, it is clear Woltemessi is undervalued and ripe for picking.

Newcastle have a great run of fixtures, starting with Burnley at home this weekend which screams a chance for Woltemade to get on the scoresheet.

I know there is tough competition at the forward position, but Woltemade should be about nailed on as they come, as he has started every Premier League game since his debut back in matchweek 4.

Antoine Semenyo (BNM) 10% owned

The talk of the first couple of months of the season has seemingly fallen off the face of the earth with a few quiet peformances and an injury concern.

The Cherries superstar is back healthy and starting now, and heavily undervalued at sub $7 mil.

Once again, if you are looking to go against the popular forward options, I think Semenyo is definitley a good shout.

I am a Chelsea fan, and as much as I hope he doesn’t, I would not be surprised if he returns to the scoresheet again this week against the Blues.
