Niko’s Supercoach EPL Watchlist | Round 17

Supercoach and EPL expert Niko, reveals who to watch, buy, hold and sell ahead of Supercoach EPL Round 17

EPL

Oh boy, I’ve gone big again and moved into rank 184 thanks to a GW16 score of 172!

Things are looking good, and I’m getting excited for the weeks ahead, but I continue to trade when I have every intention not to.

Last week, it was Enzo Fernández and Doku out for Szoboszlai and Saka.

It was Rogers out, but thankfully, I checked the teams and updated that trade.

The Saka temptation was just too strong, and he got totally stiffed out of points, which is hugely annoying.

AFCON is here.

Can I resist hitting that red T button this week?

Buy

Hugo Ekitike (£7.45M, Liverpool FWD, B/E -23)

He’s obviously a good trade-in, but I also believe it’s team-dependent.

Is it worth moving off Haaland, Saka, and Rogers?

Not so sure.

If you own Thiago, it’s a gut call as he has Wolves this week.

However, if you’re holding Mateta, Mbeumo, Pedro, or Woltemade, it’s a definite yes.

Personally, I’m still concerned with his job sharing with Isak, despite his form, and that’s due to the fixture congestion.

The bloke is still cramping up on 70mins, but his quality is undisputed.

Murillo (£9.51M, Nottingham Forest DEF, B/E -14)

Only if you plan on rotating him on and off the field.

Basically, every alternating fixture is good and mixed with quite bad.

Rayan Cherki (£8.56M, Manchester City MID, B/E -14)

I think he’s nailed with Doku out and Marmoush at AFCON.

West Ham and Forest in the next two looks nice too.

A great POD shout if that’s your flavour.

Bruno Fernandes (£16.45M, Manchester United, B/E -13)

It’s criminal that he’s only 24% owned.

Rúben Dias (9.85M, Manchester City DEF, B/E -11)

Standout option if you’re looking for a defender.

City are cooking, and you can hold him long-term.

Teammate Gvardiol is another great option at a slightly lower price, so perhaps better?

Matheus Cunha (£7.20M, Manchester United FWD, B/E -9)

A good POD option for those looking for a forward outside of Ekitike.

There are no issues with the United attack, but they do lose a few players to AFCON, so that could disrupt their mojo; buyer beware.

Gianluigi Donnarumma (£6.37M, Manchester City GKP, B/E -7)

No issues buying him over Raya for mine.

City are up to seven clean sheets.

Jurriën Timber (£6.28M, Arsenal DEF, B/E 10)

I still think he’s a great buy, especially now that White is out mid-term, so he’s 100% nailed to start.

Arsenal still has the best defence in the league, and Everton has been massacred with injury and AFCON.

Hold / Watch

Callum Hudson-Odoi (£5.09M, Nottingham Forest FWD, B/E -13)

Two goals and a massive score, but I’d be leaning towards it being a one-off.

Xavi Simons (£6.34M, Tottenham MID, B/E -12)

I don’t know what to make of Spurs, and because of that, I think there are better options out there.

Malo Gusto (£11.11M, Chelsea DEF, B/E -11)

Went nuclear against Everton with 33, but I expect all of his next four opponents to score.

I’ll be looking at Chelsea assets from GW21 onwards.

Harry Wilson (£12.56M, Fulham MID, B/E -10)

In some form, this guy, but I think the play was last week before Burnley.

He’s too expensive now for my liking.

Jarrod Bowen (£8.04M, West Ham MID, B/E -7)

Disappointing that he doesn’t have this breakeven after the matchup with City.

I’m a big fan, but I don’t think buying and playing him for City away is ideal, nor is buying him and benching him.

Antoine Semenyo (£7.45M, Bournemouth FWD, B/E 1)

It’s very tempting with Burnley at home this week, but the forward spots are valuable, and he’s on four yellow cards.

Cole Palmer (£7.82M, Chelsea MID, B/E 4)

Ok, he’s back and scored last week, but he’s obviously still getting managed and getting subbed very early.

I won’t be buying until I see 80+ minutes from him, and hopefully that’s around GW21 when the fixtures turn for the better.

Riccardo Calafiori (£7.95M, Arsenal DEF, B/E 5)

I don’t know what 493 people are doing trading him out.

He’s served his ban now and is nailed in their back four.

Jack Grealish (£7.97M, Everton MID, B/E 14)

I think people are selling because they think he’s injured.

I’d look to bench him for Arsenal anyway in preparation for Burnley, Forest, Brentford, and Wolves that follow.

That’s an elite stretch of fixtures.

Sell

Nick Woltemade (£6.95M, Newcastle FWD, B/E 22)

Quality header, too bad it was in the wrong net.

I was talking him up recently, but things have gone to shit.

Wissa is back too and getting increased minutes with every outing.

Simply, there are many better options with better fixtures to turn too.

Eberechi Eze (£9.22M, Arsenal MID, B/E 22)

Has been a woeful selection after his hat-trick.

The minutes are just not there.

Ben White (£9.39M, Arsenal DEF, B/E 21)

Arteta ground him into the ground and into injury.

Out for 4-6 weeks (that’s a lot of gameweeks) and will very likely be back to the bench when fit.

Igor Thiago (£9.61M, Brentford FWD, B/E 20)

Wolves away looks great on paper, but I think I’d be selling.

Brentford has been terrible away, and I’m backing an upset here.

Plus, Ouattara is out with AFCON duty, so who’s winning the penalties?

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.91M, Manchester United FWD, B/E 3)

Reporting to AFCON duty with Cameroon, so a must sell.
