Basketball Forever founder and currently 28th ranked NBA Supercoach player, Alex Sumsky goes through the best Buy, Hold, and Sell options for week 11
NBAEveryone’s favourite time of the week where I pretend to know what’s going to happen in the next 7 days of NBA Supercoach based on player form, injury news, upcoming schedules and an intimate knowledge of 2010’s basketball.
Is that all relevant?
Only time will tell.

When Zion Williamson is healthy and active, he is a top 5 talent in the world
Just hasn’t been nearly enough games

Zion Williamson (NO, PF/SF)
After his most recent injury, The Z-Train has quietly put together a solid run of 12 straight games with impressive numbers, including averages of 27 points / 6 rebounds / 2 assists / 2 stocks over the last week.
Back-to-back weeks over the 100 SuperCoach point mark is a good return for a big name that’s dropped more than $2M in value this season.
The Pelicans have a couple of weeks with 4 games ahead of them, and let’s be honest, some players are just more fun to have on your team than others.
Paolo Banchero (ORL, PF/SF)
Paolo’s New Year’s resolution – be better. So far so good for the big man!
His season averages have jumped from 21 / 8 / 5 to an eye-catching 28 / 11 / 6 since 30th December, and while the Magic haven’t quite found their rhythm as a team yet this year, it can only be a good thing for their star player to start delivering star numbers.
Orlando play 4 games in Week 11, but then go into 2 weeks of 2 games, so if you do add Paolo, it might be more of a rental with the view to buy down the track.

Aaron Gordon (DEN, PF/C)
The loss of Jokic and Cam Johnson has opened up plenty of opportunity on the Denver roster over the next month or so, and while Jamal Murray is certainly the main beneficiary, there might be a couple of other nuggets (I’m sorry) to be found at a better price.
Aaron Gordon made his comeback from almost 6 weeks out with a hammy just today, and eased back in with a lazy 20 points / 6 rebound effort.
He’ll likely see some minute restrictions over the next few games, so this might be a week too soon to add AG to your roster, but certainly one to watch as Denver still have a 4-week stretch of 4 gamers ahead of them.
Peyton Watson (DEN, SF/PF)
Peyton Watson is the kind of unfashionable player that every good team needs.
Does the dirty work without a fuss, and every now and then they get a chance to show that they can actually ball too.
Watson is seeing more than 33 minutes per game over the last fortnight and has turned out back-to-back 60+ point SC weeks, a solid return for less than $10M.
Collin Gillespie (PHX, PG)
Couldn’t go a week without having a flavour-of-the-minute point guard on the Buy list.
I’m still to be convinced that Collin Gillespie and TJ McConnell aren’t actually the same person, and that goes for looks as well as shifty 6-footer guard play.
Gillespie has carved out a crucial role for himself in Phoenix and is bringing a handy 16 points / 4 rebounds / 6 assists / 2 steals for a more than reasonable $10.5M price tag (at time of writing).

Anthony Black (ORL, PG/SG)
Always bet on (Anthony) Black. Tony B was on the Buy list last week and if for some wild reason you followed my advice, then do it again and keep hold for another week.
Black has gone for 100+ SC points in 2 straight weeks now, and in his 12 games since hitting the starting lineup is putting up 21 points / 4 rebounds / 5 assists / 2 steals per game.
Brilliant stuff from a 21-year-old who is still less than $10M, but he is in the same boat as Banchero in that the Magic go from 4 games this week to 2 x 2 gamers.
The return of Jalen Suggs at some point will also likely cool things down.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL, PF/C)
Giannis has comeback from injury and gone straight back to doing Giannis things, which looks something like a lazy 31 / 10 / 4 per game and delivering a healthy 136 SC points in Week 10 (2nd overall).
Schedule is the only reason we have him in the Hold section this week as the Bucks play just 5 games over the next 2 weeks.
If you have cash burning a hole in your pocket from a Jokic sale, then you could probably justify a week’s worth of Giannis, but otherwise it would be wiser to sit for a couple of weeks before adding…and who knows what team he might be playing on by then.
Reed Sheppard (HOU, PG/SG)
A SuperCoach darling with almost 18% ownership that has been delivering points all season and gone up more than $5M in value.
Even if Sheppard didn’t get another bucket this year he would still have made a lot of SC managers very happy.
There’s been a slight drop in production over the last couple of weeks, including a very lean 35 points for Week 10, but at around the $9M mark he shouldn’t be expected to deliver every game and he’s earned the benefit of the doubt for now.
Injury Update: Nikola Jokić suffered a Left Knee Hyperextension injury during last night's game at the Miami Heat. Nikola will be re-evaluated in four weeks. pic.twitter.com/NIDmlKAN81

Nikola Jokic (DEN, C)
One way or another, Jokic is determined to feature in this column every week!
He’s a Buy, he’s been a Hold, and sadly for a good chunk of SuperCoach owners he’s now a Sell as well.
We don’t need to focus on what we’re losing though, how about the cold $27M cheque we’re about to stroll into the bank and cash?!
There are plenty of ways to spend the extra money that selling Jokic will give you and there’s probably one name in the centre position that springs to mind ahead of most, but read on before you take the plunge!
Victor Wembamyama (SAS, C)
So there’s probably not a huge amount of teams that have managed to fit both Jokic and Wemby onto the same roster, but they do have a combined 61% ownership, so this is still relevant to a good chunk of SC players.
It all comes down to your appetite for risk, but Wemby missing another couple of games last week was a stark reminder that he’s going to be a tough hang more often than not.
For all the points, rebounds, blocks and general jaw-dropping behaviour, he is still closer to 8 feet tall than 7, skinny as a rake and playing for a team that is not going to work him to the ground.
All that to say I personally find it a tough commitment at $21M+ when there are so many viable options around.
Josh Giddey (CHI, PG/SF)
I know, I know, not The Giddler! Everyone’s favourite pasty-white Aussie point guard since Delly has been one of the best investments of the season so far, so much so that he actually still sits inside the top 15 for total SC points.
This is SuperCoach though and there’s no room for patriotism out here.
The main issue is a hamstring injury that looks like keeping Giddey out of action for a couple of weeks, but truth be told even prior to that there had been just enough of a decline in production to warrant a raised eyebrow.
3 straight weeks of decreasing output is not ideal for a player in the uber-competitive $16-$18M price bracket, so the tight hammy might serve as the perfect excuse to cut the silkiest locks in the league.
