Supercoach Big Bash veteran Tim Williams looks at the skippers, weather, PODs and plenty more ahead of BBL round 7
BBLWe’re down to the final three weeks of the Supercoach season.
With two clubs on the double, rain on the horizon, and Test stars set to come back into the fold, it’s going to be a rollercoaster round.
With uncertainty comes opportunity, those that can navigate the hurdles looming in round 7 can position themselves nicely for a big finish as well as head-to-head league glory.

After a strong run of weeks the Cooma Stallions were a little underwhelming last round, scoring 975 points to drop 100 spots into 1,900th overall.
It was about par for the round, but at the current ranking we need to see a lot more green before the end of season.
Let’s take a look at the Final Word ahead of Supercoach BBL round 7.
All weather is courtesy of the Bureau of Meteorology as of Friday, 1PM. Forecasts are subject to change.

Verdict: We’ll need to be on our toes this week, with showers potentially hitting three of the five games. It only looks minor for two clashes, but the Sydney fixture between the Sixers and Hurricanes may be problematic. Nothing looks too bad at this stage, but keep on track of any changes conditions.
The Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes are on the double game round this week.
The Sydney Sixers have the bye in round 8, followed by another double in round 9, so don’t offload too many of their players.
The Melbourne Renegades have the double in round 8, so there’s no knock on going early on any of their contingent.

Each week we’ll list the top players with both the highest and lowest breakevens, plus a few additional players worth noting, to help track your cash movement.
The breakeven number is the score required in the upcoming round for a player to make or lose money.
Lowest breakeven (Money-makers)
David Warner -103
Ben Dwarshuis -62
Tim Ward -33
Gurinder Sandhu -32
Blake Macdonald -29
Oli Petterson -19
Josh Brown -9
Ben Manenti -7
Joel Davies -5
Lachlan Shaw -4
Joe Clarke -1
Nic Maddinson 0

They come with big risk, but the reward is immense if it comes off.
Last week, Will Sutherland scored a respectable 64 points for those that jumped on early.
Shout out also to Jamie Overton who bounced back with 114 points after his prior week debacle where he didn’t bow.
Hassan Khan – $126,400 – 8.8% ownership
The Pakistani allrounder has low-key been excellent this season, averaging 55 points per game with a terrific Supercoach role.
He’s batting at number six for the Renegades, above Will Sutherland, and regularly bowling his four overs.
He’ll be extremely popular next week and should only rise in cash with a breakeven of 19, so there’s a huge play to go early this week.

While both the Strikers and Hurricanes are on the double game this week, they’re the two that stand out well above all with two of the best roles in Supercoach.
The majority of coaches are flocking to Matt Short who has almost felt underwhelming this season, yet still averages 75.5 points.
While I’d love to go the POD play of Overton, it’s the short square boundaries in Hobart that make me think Short can tee off.

Overton is a completely fine alternative, he’s more assured of his overs (disregarding the Perth game), and bowls more vital overs that enhance wicket-taking opportunities.
Overton is averaging 73.7 points for the season, including the game at Optus where he didn’t role the arm over.
Both are excellent options, but it’s Short for me.
