Basketball Forever founder and currently 18th ranked NBA Supercoach player, Alex Sumsky goes through the best Buy, Hold, and Sell options for week 13
NBAEveryone’s favourite time of the week where I pretend to know what’s going to happen in the next 7 days of NBA Supercoach based on player form, injury news, upcoming schedules and an intimate knowledge of 2010’s basketball.
Is that all relevant?
Only time will tell.

Bam Adebayo (MIA, C/PF)
Wham, Bam, thank you ma’am. The Heat head into a 5-game week so it makes sense to have someone from the roster, and at this point Adebayo is really the only one we can justify. Coming off a solid Week 12 with 94 SuperCoach points and costing $13.5M, Bam is a worthwhile addition while Tyler Herro looks to be injured for the week, Norm Powell has cooled off and Kel’el Ware looks like the Monstars have stolen his basketball mojo.
Peyton Watson (DEN, SF/PF)
3 weeks in a row as a Buy?! Unheard of in the SuperCoach universe, but the Nuggets handyman continues to see huge minutes (35 per game in Week 12) and deliver numbers that outweigh his price. He’ll likely be around the $11M mark once prices are confirmed for Week 13 but while other role players like Aaron Gordon, Christian Braun and Cam Johnson are in and out of the lineup, Watson remains the constant. Denver still has 2 weeks to run on their 4-games-per-week streak, so you can enjoy the calming presence of Peyton for a little while yet.
Naji Marshall (DAL, SF/PF)
A couple of weeks back I said every team needs a Peyton Watson, and Dallas listened. Another role player that has benefitted from injuries and seen both minutes and production skyrocket as a result. Naji finished top 10 in SuperCoach points for Week 12 at less than $10M, with averages of 21 / 5 / 5. The reason for pause is that none of the injuries to Flagg, PJ Washington or Daniel Gafford appear to be long term, so it’s a definite “wait for the Tuesday morning injury reports” kind of job before adding Marshall tomorrow.
Tyrese Maxey (PHI, PG)
It’s about time that Tyrese made the Buy list, finally a reward for being one of the most consistent SC players this season that’s currently sitting 4th in total points. His output over the last fortnight has actually been a little down in comparison to the season averages, with the return of Joel Embiid as a real player taking some of the scoring pressure off. However Maxey is still punching out 28 points, 5 dimes & 4 assists per game (last 15 days) and the 6ers head into a very friendly stretch of 4,4,4 & 5 games per week over the next month, so now is a great time to add if you have a guard slot open foe him.
Brian Sensabaugh (UTA, SF/PF)
Brian Who you might ask! Sensabaugh is a Jazz wing that’s been seeing increased minutes since the turn of the year and is slowly carving out enough production to make himself known amongst us SuperCoach bargain hunters. Minutes equal opportunity in the NBA, and Sensabaugh has seen a jump from around 20 minutes per game up to almost 30 recently, which has all led to a 98 SC point explosion in Week 12. He’s not bringing a whole lot to the table outside of scoring which will make him streaky from a fantasy perspective, but at around the $7M price point he’s one to watch at the very least.
Luka Doncic (LAL, PG)
Things you love to see – the Lakers come off a 5-game stretch that has Luka & LeBron finishing as the leading 2 x SuperCoach scorers for Week 12, and that was with Luka sitting a game as well. While the team form is questionable, The Don’s form is still red-hot, including a league-high 33 PPG over the last fortnight. All this to say that while it might be tempting to drop Luka for a 4-game player this upcoming week, my advice is keep that trade for someone that isn’t going to give you around 35 SC PPG!
Cooper Flagg (DAL, SF/PF)
The most owned player in SuperCoach at 59%, so safe to say there are plenty of us waiting to see how bad this ankle injury is. As it stands Flagg is questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks, an improvement from being out for the 2 x previous matchups against Utah. With the Mavs due for a 4-game week there’s no panic just yet with Big Coop, who with any luck will still punch out 3 games at worst. Considering he’s delivered almost $7M in growth for anyone that’s had him since the start of the season, happy to sit tight and wait for our little cash cow…I mean prodigy, to get back on the court.
Zion Williamson (NO, PF/SF)
Week 12 makes it 4 x 100+ SC point weeks in a row for Zion, centurion numbers to make even Steve Smith take notice. Seeing the big man get a continuous run of games under his belt is genuinely enjoyable for all basketball fans, and probably a good thing to keep him from getting into too much mischief off the court. The Pels head into a fairly lean run of 3 weeks with 3 games and we may need to move him at some point during that run, but if you have other 3 gamers you can move this week then worth watching the bull in the china shop for a few more games.
Kawhi Leonard (LAC, SF/PF)
The hottest player in the game over the previous 3 weeks with an average of 126 SC points per week over that stretch, 10 points ahead of 2nd placed SGA…but here comes the piper. As sure as day follows night, Kawhi will follow a run of form with an injury, and after missing the weekend game against Toronto he’s now been sent home to knee treatment. At the very least he’s slated to miss 2 of the 4 Clippers game this week which is probably drop-worthy on its own, and while we’d all love to see him back quickly it’s a case of 20 times bitten, twice shy or something like that when it comes to Leonard and injuries.
Jalen Johnson (ATL, PF/SF)
Last week we had Johnson in the Hold section as a Code 1 – Watch & Monitor, this week he’s a Code 3 – What The Hell. The addition of some old heads to help run the show in Atlanta hasn’t been a raging success in the short term so far for JJ, culminating in a Week 12 bottoming out that saw averages of just 15 points, 6 assists and 8 rebounds per game. Sure, good numbers for most, but our man’s been a near triple-double for most of the season and is now priced accordingly at $20M+. The Hawks play just the 3 games this week, so it seems a good point to give Jalen some time alone to think about what’s gone wrong.
Paolo Banchero (ORL, PF/SF)
It’s been a nice little run for Banchero! Averages of 22 / 10 / 6 over the last 15 days have really consolidated his turnaround from a pretty slow start to the season, enough so that he’s very quietly snuck up into the top 20 owned players in SuperCoach at 16%. Unfortunately the Magic have a measly 2 games for Week 13 making Paolo completely droppable, with his $15M sale price coming in very handy elsewhere (see Adebayo, Bam).
