If you’ve never used Discord before, don’t stress.
If you already have Discord, this will take you less than a minute.

What is Discord (quickly)?

Discord is a free community app that works a bit like:

  • Group chats
  • Forums
  • Live message boards

But faster, organised by channels, and available on:

  • Desktop (website or app)
  • Mobile (iOS & Android)

Important: Website vs Mobile App (Read This First)

Before we start, here’s the key difference:

On the Discord Website (Desktop / Mobile Browser)

You can:

  • Create an account
  • Accept an invite
  • Read and send messages
  • Browse channels

Limitations:

  • Notifications are limited
  • Experience is basic compared to the app

On the Discord Mobile App

You can:

  • Do everything the website does
  • Get live notifications
  • Switch servers instantly
  • Post images, react, reply faster
  • Use Discord daily with ease

Best practice:
👉 You can join via the website, but the mobile app is strongly recommended for ongoing use.

OPTION 1: You Already Have Discord

If you already have a Discord account, this is easy.

Step 1: Make sure you’re logged in

Step 2: Click the SC Playbook invite link

  • Go to the SC Playbook website
  • Click the “Connect Discord” button on your website account or invite link sent via email (check junk folder)

Step 3: Accept the invite

  • A popup will appear
  • Click “Accept Invite”

That’s it. 🎉
You’re now inside the SC Playbook Discord server.

OPTION 2: You’ve Never Used Discord Before

If this is your first time — follow these steps carefully. Trust us, after a few initial butterflies, it’s extremely simple to use.

Step 1: Create a Discord account

You can do this on the website or app. It will only take a minute.

Option A: On Desktop / Laptop

  1. Go to the Discord website (https://discord.com)
  2. Click Sign Up
  3. Enter:
    • Email
    • Username (this is your public name)
    • Password
  4. Verify your email

Option B: On Mobile (Recommended)

  1. Download the Discord app from:
    • App Store (iPhone)
    • Google Play (Android)
  2. Open the app
  3. Tap Register
  4. Follow the prompts and verify your email

Step 2: Join the SC Playbook Discord

Once your account is created:

  1. Go to the SC Playbook website or find the link that was emailed to you (check junk folder)
  2. Click the “Connect Discord” button on your website account
  3. Discord will open automatically:
    • In the app (if installed)
    • Or in your browser
  4. Tap or click “Accept Invite”

What Happens After You Join?

When you enter the SC Playbook Discord for the first time, you’ll see:

  • A list of channels on the left (or bottom on mobile).
  • Each channel is focused on a topic:
    • Team advice
