The Random Stats Guy analyses the player ownership of the top 1% of NRL Supercoach teams in Round 2
NRLRound 2 in the books for NRL Supercoach.
A couple of injuries to some key Supercoach personnel will force owners to trade ahead of Round 3.
Here are the most owned players that the top 1% of Supercoaches chose for Round 2.

Only 0.7% of Supercoaches in the top 1% don’t own Sua Fa’alogo…
If that isn’t your sign to buy him, then surely it is his scores of 116 and 155 to start the season.
If it’s not that, then surely it’s the Broncos’ ranking 1st for points conceded to fullbacks this season.
Buy.
Kalyn Ponga was owned by 61% of the top 1% in Round 2, but his hamstring injury will see him sidelined for 6-8 weeks.
Most have banked their cash and moved to cheapies Ryan Couchman (127 trades), Ativalu Lisati (63 trades) and Moses Leo (48 trades).
Reece Walsh is also an option to bring in.
We saw him go nuts without Adam Reynolds last season, and whilst his Round 3 matchup isn’t desirable (vs Storm), he has the Dolphins, Titans and Cowboys to come that will see him go berserk.
He has a breakeven of 130 and a projected loss of $56.7k, so if you can hold off another week, you will get him sub $800k.

Latrell Mitchell is the most owned CTW by the top 1%, as he punched out 84 without a try against the Roosters.
Siale Faeamani and Setu Tu are both sitting on the reserves list as they are set to collectively earn owners $100k next week.
Tom Chester is the 10th most traded-in player for the top 1% this week, as he averages 68 points.
The only thing I have against bringing in Chester is Zac Laybutt named on the bench for this weekend’s clash against the Titans
Scott Drinkwater is in doubt, which could favour Chester, but just watch this space, owners and non-owners.

Jonah Pezet bounced back from his 17, with 82 points against the Broncos at Suncorp.
He and Cody Walker seem to be the most popular 5/8 duo to own, so it was unfortunate that Walker backed up his 104 points in Round 1 with just 34 last week against the Chooks.
Fletcher Sharpe returns from injury this week against the Warriors, but only 11 Supercoaches in the top 1% are bringing him in.
Could be a good POD, but for his price, I understand the hesitation.

Despite a tough opening draw, Nathan Cleary has performed well against the Broncos and Sharks, and Supercoaches are taking notice.
With a breakeven of 86 and (slight) price rise expected, he comes up against a Roosters side ranked 1st for points conceded to halfbacks this season and is the 4th most traded-in player.
Adam Doueihi impressed with 115 points against a lacklustre Cowboys side. He is owned by just 8.1% of the top 1% and is a genuine POD play with Souths, Eels and Knights in the next month.
Tanah Boyd is the top-scoring halfback in Supercoach, yet is only owned by 6.7% of the top 1% of Supercoaches.
In an ideal world, with Chanel Harris-Tavita out, he should be in everything against the Knights this week; and with a -41 breakeven, he is in for a heck of a price rise ($90k) if you need the cash.
Nicho Hynes owners have nearly halved in the top 1% after backing up his 131 with a 41 against the best defensive team in the comp… Cruel.
The Sharks have the Dolphins (H), Raiders (A), Warriors (H and in the arvo), Roosters (Perth) and Cowboys (A) – so I can’t see a reason to get rid of him.

Harry Grant ownership continues to rise with back-to-back tons to start the season, albeit he has scored a try in each game.
Blayke Brailey hasn’t been terrible either, scoring 82 and 60 in his first two games without a try in each.
However, his ownership in the top 1% has dropped by 9% and Grant is up 26%.
Benaiah Ioelu owners have been dealt a blow with Reece Robson returning for the tri-colours against the Panthers.
Named on the bench, Ioelu is in limbo as he still needs to play and crack 10 points for his breakeven.
Reed Mahoney owners have grown impatient following 41 points against the Tigers.
He is the 10th most traded-out player by teams in the top 1%.

97% of Supercoaches in the top 1% own Payne Haas, making him in the 2nd most owned by the top 1% in the comp.
A try on Thursday night propelled him to 103, sending non-owners and non-captainers in a spiral.
Last year’s FRF gun, Terrell May started his 2026 campaign with 78 points in 53 minutes.
Reduced minutes, points still solid would be the notes from those who have him on their watchlist.
He is still a POD play at 7.8% ownership in the top 1% – so far, so good.
The Thomas Flegler honeymoon period seems to be over as he is the 2nd most traded out player in the top 1% this week.
47 points in 43 minutes vs Souths, and then 24 points in 22 minutes vs Titans, would suggest that a 38 breakeven this week might be a bit too high for the Dolphins prop.

Noah Martin continues to grow in ownership with 60-points alone in base against the Warriors last week.
With a -103 breakeven, $127k projected price rise, and fellow backrower Matty Nicholson out for 3-5 months, he is a must-own player not for just cash gen, but in general.
There has been plenty of rotation in the 2RF position.
Ryan Couchman is the most traded-in player for the top 1%, Ativalu Lisati is the 2nd most traded-in, Noah Martin 3rd, and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki is 5th.
Couchman has been very consistent with 70 and 69 in his first two games. He has a -65 breakeven and $80k price rise for Round 3.
Lisati has punched out 88 and 77 in his first two games and, with no Shawn Blore in the squad this week, his job security has firmed.
Kuli has had a breakout start to the season. Yes, he has scored in both games this season, however, he has still punched out 50 and 65 in base.
On the flipside, Isaah Yeo, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Angus Crichton are among the top 2RFs traded out this week.
