Supercoach veteran Stephen Defries reveals his trades, captains and point of difference players to consider for NBA Supercoach week 21
NBAGame week 20 tossed up plenty of challenges with well-owned and purchased players missing 1 or 2 games.
‘The Closers’ managed 1064, which moved us exactly zero positions. The second time that’s happened this season.
Kawhi, Mitchell, Edwards, and JJ all missed games while Cade Cunningham suffered a collapsed lung, which will see him miss significant time.
3.7% of coaches were rewarded for going against The Joker and choosing Luka as their captain this week.
He was the top scorer with 163 points.
Joker had 137, with Wemby 130, Amen Thompson 124, and Rudy Gobert 124 rounding out the top 5.
No 1 traded in Devin Booker did not deliver in a 5-game week.
After a promising start of 34 points, he then delivered 22, 9, 14, and 26.
As I mentioned last week, SGA was a strong buy despite only playing 3 games, and he delivered with 106 points.
Cade to SGA will likely be the most popular trade this week.
Regardless, SGA is a must-own on a 4-game week.
Denver has 4 games this week and then 2 next week.
With Denver still requiring wins in their chase for a top 4 seed and the Joker chasing All-NBA status, we shouldn’t see any rest for their stars anytime soon.
Kawhi has 4 games this week, but has been listed as questionable for tomorrow.
The Clippers are pretty well locked into their play-in spot, so there is no reason to risk him. Proceed with caution.
JJ has also been listed as questionable for tomorrow, so make sure you monitor injury reports before making a call.
Despite only 3 games this week, I would not be selling Luka with the form both he and the Lakers are in. Indefinite hold.
Wemby is in the same boat. The Spurs have the 2nd seed pretty well sewn up, however, Wemby needs to keep playing to be eligible for end-of-season awards, so he should be immune from restings for now.
With Donovan Mitchell and James Harden on a 3-game week and Antman injured, there are a lot of options in the midrange category this week.
Houston finishes the season with 4 games per week, all the way home.
This makes Durant and Sengun attractive options, but it’s been Amen Thompson producing the goods recently.
Jamal Murray remains a safe play despite some recent poor output.

Jaylen Brown continues to produce despite the return of Jayson Tatum.
With 3 games this week, you can move on, but you don’t necessarily have to.
Orlando also finish out the season with 4 games all the way, although both Banchero and Bane didn’t blow the hinges off last week.
Last week’s most popular trade-in Devin Booker, needs to be moved on as Phoenix now has a 2-game week.
Portland plays 4 games this week, and with Deni Avdija playing all 4 games last week, which included a back-to-back, I think you can have a level of confidence in picking him up.
They do play the second leg of a back-to-back to kick off the week, so just make sure he is named in that game. If he is, I think it’s a green light.
Jalen Duren is a POD play if you wanted to trade out Wemby, who only has 3 games this week. I wouldn’t, but it could work.
Scottie Barnes is back in play, but he has been disappointing lately.
I personally wouldn’t touch any Pelicans assets. With nothing to play for, I’m not sure how long they keep rolling out Trey Murphy and Zion Williamson.
Cheapies are becoming less relevant as our squads balloon in value.
If you own Harper, Williams, GG, and Raynaud like I do, then all can be either upgraded or downgraded at any time to ensure you have max cash to spend in the final month of the season.
Bam Adebayo MIA – 7.5% owned
Miami are fighting for a top 6 seed, which means they will need Bam at his best. Just don’t expect a repeat of that 83-point game. He should still score well, though.
Jalen Duren – 2.0% owned
As mentioned above. Trading out Wemby to Duren would be the ultimate POD play and could win you a final in your leagues. The ultimate risk-reward play.
Brandon Miller CHA – 0.6% owned
Charlotte is a real threat to cause a boilover in Rd 1 of the playoffs, and it’s on the back of some exceptional play from Miller.
I’m not sure if I can do it, but if I can make it work, he’s straight in for me.

Best (4 games this week and 4 games next week)
CHA, CHI, DET, HOU, MEM, MIL, ORL, TOR, UTA
Good (4 games this week)
ATL, BKN, DEN, GS, IND, LAC, MIA, NOP, OKC, POR, SAC,
Bad (2 games this week)
MIN, PHX
Cade to SGA
Booker to Miller
JJ to Bam (If JJ ruled out)
Captain Joker
