Croker’s Call: Season high sends rank soaring

Canberra Raiders captain Jarrod Croker reveals his trades and tactics for Round 10.

Croker's Call

Things are looking up after pumping out my largest score of the year in Round 10.

I hesitantly paid the big bucks for James Tedesco last week who delivered as captain.

Croker’s Stockmen finished with 1,356 points to move up into 21,982nd place.

Ryan Papenhuyzen also scored a century which helped me out, while Ryan Matterson hit 94 to ensure a strong week was had.

I was a bit gutted to get beaten by Munsters Inc in the SC Playbook league by just 17 points, but I’ve since been informed he’s a past winner so it’s a fair showing for my rookie season.

Onto Round 10, and hopefully another solid round can help me into the top 20,000.

ESAN MARSTERS to CAMERON MUNSTER

I thought I’d produced a masterclass by picking Marsters at the beginning of the year, but he’s since hit the skids big time and has to be moved on. Fortunately I haven’t played him in recent weeks.

Munster returns from injury to face the Titans outfit who are struggling for cohesion with injuries hitting them hard. He’s such a vital part of their side and premiership credentials that I can’t see Craig Bellamy playing him if there was any serious risk of reinjury.

Hopefully the weather stays dry in Queensland which should allow for the points to flow.

JAYDN SU’A to BEAU FERMOR

Su’A has done a reasonable job and provided some solid scores for my team. He’s made a bit of coin but it’s time to part ways.

In comes Titans rookie Fermor to free up cash for my other trade. There’s obviously some instability throughout the squad on the Gold Coast, but hopefully the versatile looking Fermor holds a spot to make some good coin for me.

These trades also free up plenty of money to play around with next week.

CAPTAINS

I’ll be giving the vice-captain job to my new recruit Munster who could produce anything on Friday night.

My captain will be Api Koroisau who is on a carve at the moment and has proven to be a match-winner on numerous occasions this season. He gets the Sunday arvo game with the battling Cowboys, so I’m backing him to do plenty of damage through the ruck and score well.

Good luck to all in Round 10!
