We take a look at the most traded in and out players each week to determine if SuperCoaches are on the right track.
AFLSuperCoaches are putting the final upgrade pieces in place as we build our teams to become “full premo”.
But are the popular options this week worth the trade in or should you wait for a bigger star to fall more in price?
Sports journalist and SuperCoach expert Dylan Bolch will run his eye over the top trade targets each round and summarise which players are really worth trading in, and which are really worth trading out.
He will give a quick take each week on the ten most traded in players and the ten most traded out as per the official SuperCoach site.
Here is his analysis ahead of Round 17:

He looked far more composed in the Lions win against the Bulldogs after seeming a bit scratchy in his debut against the Dees. Don’t really rate his job security long term, he’s probably fighting for his spot every game he plays.
2. Callum M. Brown ($182,900 DEF/FWD) – Brown broke my Hawthorn heart last week and the late inclusion would have gone a long way towards polling Brownlow votes in the wet. Has the ability to play both in defence and attack given his size and speed, I’d wait to see another week of Brown before jumping on given his inflated rookie price tag.
3. Jase Burgoyne ($117,300 DEF/MID) – Burgoyne looked really good on debut for the Power and amassed 65 SuperCoach points from 17 disposals. Another rookie who could be really handy cover for our SuperCoach sides, and that DEF/MID wing is super important. I think he’s my rookie of the week.
Embed from Getty Images4. Jack Sinclair ($577,700 DEF/MID) – How good has Sinclair been this season?! He could seriously mount a case for the most improved player in the competition. SuperCoach wise he has averaged 113 in 2022 and is coming off a 150 against the Blues, his highest score this season. Great buy.
5. Jordan Dawson ($626,900 DEF/MID) – The most in-form defender in the competition in a SuperCoach sense, with a three-round average of 139.3 and a five-round of 125.6. His price is high now so he might be out of reach, but if you can jump on, go for it.
6. Tom Liberatore ($575,600 MID/FWD) – Another player in superb form, Liberatore is one of half a dozen Bulldogs to consider in your forward lines. Similar to Dawson, his increased price might make him difficult to trade in and you might have to settle for a player sub 550k, but if you can get to Libba, he is another great option.

7. Massimo D’Ambrosio ($159,600 DEF) – Essendon’s mid-season draft pick has been absolutely flying in his three games at the top level and his performance against the Swans (11 disposals in the first quarter) earnt him this week’s Rising Star nomination. Should provide solid defensive cover in the run home and you could still trade him in even if you missed him last week.
8. Bailey Dale ($545,200 DEF) – Looms as one of the best defensive upgrade options given he is at a far more accessible price point. Has monopoly on the kick-ins in Caleb Daniel’s absence and the Dogs are using him as their go-to man out of the back half. I think he will finish the season as a top 8 scoring defender.
9. Jack Steele ($543,000 MID) – A star in previous seasons, Steele can be bought for 543k this round given he had a short layoff with a shoulder injury. Scores of 115 and 107 since returning, Steele is a great buy to finish off your midfield.
10. Christian Petracca ($526,900 MID) – This is a tricky one, because a week ago people were trying to find ways to trade Trac out. A whopping score of 189 against the Crows saw him bounce back in a back way, and his breakeven is down to 19. An alternative Jack Steele option to finish your midfield.
Embed from Getty Images1. Greg Clark ($255,200 MID) – It appears as though Clark isn’t in the best 22 at West Coast right now, which means cashing him in is the best course of action.
2. Isaac Heeney ($452,000 FWD/MID) – Heeney will face a fitness test ahead of the Swans’ clash with the Dogs this round. Has struggled in recent weeks (five-round average of 79.8) but we know what he can do when he gets rolling. I’d hold.
3. Aaron Hall ($495,300 DEF) – A popular discount option last week, Hall suffered a quad injury which has ruled him out for 1-2 weeks. Whether you hold or trade depends on your team structure (how close to “full premo”?) and how many trades you have left. If you are still trying to reach “full premo” and have less than four trades remaining, I’d hold, especially if you have Jacob Wehr or D’Ambrosio on the bench.
Embed from Getty Images4. Sam de Koning ($359,400 DEF/FWD) – De Koning was a late withdrawal last week but has freshened up and is good to go for tonight’s top-of-the-table clash against the Demons. With a breakeven of 60, now could be a good time to cash him in, but if you can afford to hold and are already “full premo”, he is reliable bench cover.
5. Malcolm Rosas ($277,600 FWD) – Time to swing the axes on Rosas (breakeven 74). There’s 150k to be gained by downgrading him to a cheap rookie.
6. Joel Jeffrey ($284,500 FWD) – Definite trade, he’s out for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury.
7. Jacob Wehr ($280,100 DEF) – Wehr had his best game of the season, bobbing up when it mattered against the Hawks. His breakeven is still at just 6, meaning there is more cash to make here. Hold, unless a trade allows you to finish your team and become “full premo”.

8. Daniel Rich ($538,500 DEF) – Rich suffered a hamstring injury last week but is set to be back in a week or two. Like the Hall situation, if you have cover in Wehr or D’Ambrosio and minimal trades left, he can be held. Otherwise, pull the trigger and get in another gun defender.
9. Tom Stewart ($562,400 DEF) – The question here is why is he only being sold now? Isn’t due back until Round 20, making him a trade out. However, if you have cover and are playing for league glory, he could be a sneaky hold and a POD in the run home. I’d only suggest that if you had 1-2 trades left though.
10. Patrick McCartin ($356,900 DEF/FWD) – A breakeven of 83 means McCartin is a trade out this round. He’s been a great rookie selection for us but it’s time to cash in.
