Note this season that from round 5 onwards there will only be two teams on the double game week, while there are only two other byes to come.

This first four rounds have multiple teams that play twice in that corresponding round.

On these weeks, players from those clubs on the double will score two sets of points towards their round total, as opposed to those on the single game round who record the one score.

Let’s breakdown the early stages of the tournament to aid planning.

ROUND 1

Double game: Renegades, Stars

The Melbourne clubs have the round 1 double and will be the prime targets to begin the campaign.

Note also that the Stars have another double in round 3, so they should be priority picks.

The Renegades will have a round 3 bye, but also have another double in round 4.

Plan ahead to further rounds, look to begin with multiple Strikers and Scorchers players either starting in your XI or more preferably on your bench in preparation for their upcoming double.

ROUND 2

Double game: Strikers, Scorchers

All trades should be targeted at the Strikers and Scorchers for their double.

With the Renegades on the bye next round, you could look to sell a couple of players, however it’s recommended to stash a few players in preparation for their round 4 double.

ROUND 3

Double game: Heat, Stars, Sixers

Bye: Renegades

Focus in on the Heat, Stars and Sixers players for their double.

You’ll likely already own a number of Stars players from round 1, making the Sixers and Heat the priority targets as it’s generally a wise move to have a broad range of players across teams for higher scoring potential.

While the Renegades are on the bye, their Supercoach contingent will be value for looping purposes this round and will prove valuable ahead of the upcoming double game round.

You can also hold onto Strikers players this week ahead of their round 4 double.

ROUND 4

Double game: Strikers, Renegades

Coming off fairly recent doubles, you’ll likely already have a handful of Strikers and Renegades players, but it will still be important to stock up on their contingent.

ROUND 5 ONWARDS

From here, we only have two doubles and two byes remaining.

The Thunder have the double in round 6, while the Hurricanes play twice in round 8.

The Strikers have the bye in round 6, while the Stars won’t feature in round 8.
