AFL Supercoach 2026: Final Word – Round 13

AFL Supercoach expert Charlie Dadds gives his final word ahead of AFL Supercoach round 13, including his trade and skipper plans

One bye down, what feels like an infinite amount more to go.

Luckily, this week is manageable with just the Giants and Tigers out of action (thankfully, not highly popular SuperCoach teams).

Heading in to this week, it goes without saying but the main trading objective is picking up guys who have already had their byes.

So, if you’re from the Crows, Suns, Roos or Power, you are hot on my shopping list.

Let’s get in to the final word.

Trade Talk

While value forms the bulk of my selection criteria, a team’s fixture fills in the rest of the gaps.

And there is no better fixture run in the competition than what North Melbourne has ahead of them.

After a tough outing against Fremantle this week, they then play West Coast, Richmond, Essendon and Port Adelaide in the next four games.

With Sam Flanders a must trade this week, and provided you have adequate DPP flexibility, you can afford to splurge on bonafide premiums.

Luke Davies-Uniacke fits the bill… and some.

The hard-running contested bull is all but guaranteed a spot in the coveted Top 8 midfielder bracket following a breakout SuperCoach year which has him sitting at a 115 average.

He’s also already faced the aforementioned opponents earlier in the season – averaging 119 from his combined total against each of them.

North’s fixture also means Tristan Xerri is a must have… but only next week given he currently has a breakeven of 188 and is projected to plummet.

If you’re in need of a defender, seagull Luke Parker – whose heatmap rarely extends beyond the back pocket – is also a good option.

But, having said all that, you can also get last year’s Brownlow Medallist for a tick over $500k.

This is the same guy who averaged over 130 post-bye last season, the same guy who began the year at $641k, and the same guy who has already pumped out scores of 125 and 131 this year.

Lock him in and throw away the key.

Now, in terms of rookies, we don’t have a whole lot on offer.

Bailey McDonald is the only one of note who is on the bubble, but he’s no guarantee at selection and, even if he is picked, he’s no guarantee to hang around.

But thankfully we’ve been handed a fresh batch of basement price debutants courtesy of the mid-season draft.

Hugo Hall-Kahan (DEF/MID) and Mitch Podhajski (FWD) will line up for their first game this week, and I much prefer them.

Given Hall-Kahan’s scoring power off half back in the VFL prior to being drafted, I think he’s the pick of the pair.

Trades:

Retschko -> Hall-Kahan

Flanders -> Rowell

$157k in the bank for Xerri next week.
