Herbie Farnworth delivers, while KPP's injury sours the Leichhardt Oval (mini) farewell, Nick Moon recaps round 15 of NRL Supercoach
NRLI won’t lie, the Tigers and Titans was a bit hard to get into after the Socceroos did their thing against Türkiye..
Despite our man Maty Ryan being pushed back to the bench, we did a job and united the nation!
Even those holding onto Metcalf were surprised when he updated to 15, after banging in the Socceroos second! Still wont be enough to unseat TMM though..
And there were a few surprised eyes when as soon as the final whistle went, I checked my Supercoach to make sure I had bought the right T May – I reckon even Maty did the same!

Round 15 was the second of our bye rounds and despite early reports of numbers being diabolical, we might have come out of it okay. Herbie went large, as did AJ and TMay and our bye targets plodded to a solid 60-70.
Koula than Kaeo fielded 11, but a strong 11 it seems, scraping my way to 954 thanks to Herbie as VC and May. It isn’t open at the time of writing, but my rank last week was that, and this week it probably won’t be much better.

Set the weekend up brilliantly with a blistering 137, more than enough for those with the VC to loop him and not give it a second thought. He was back to his best scoring 1 try, setting up 2 more and scoring 14 points in tacklebusts
Those on the death ride of Herbie must be in the foetal position each week the Dolphins play. Has threatened to go big all year, and even at his worst, it’s still that much better than the rest.
Despite how good he has been all year, his 137 was only his 3rd 100+ score for the season. Despite not going large, he has been ultra consistent with only the 1 score under 74 all season
That makes me feel like he is ready to go on a run. This time last year he went 105, 150 & 106 on the bounce. Missed a large chunk at the end of the year, so will want to fire up those cylinders and see how far he can take this Dolphins side.
Embed from Getty ImagesDon’t know where I was going with the heading but seeing him walk off the field early on Sunday was a weird one for me as a non-owner.
I was so keen to bring him in last week, then again, this week but couldn’t make it work..
So another week without him I thought. When he trudged off I felt like I dodged a bullet.
Plenty would have brought in the 2RF gun for this week and beyond, and that only lasted 10 minutes as he succumbed to a pec injury which ruled him out for the game.
No word yet on severity, but pecs and quick returns to footy don’t usually go together.
Only had 3 scores under 60 all season, and 2 of those were in the 50s so you knew what you were getting with him. He had been a revelation on the edge for the Tigers, even with Doueihi out.
A straight swap to Olakau’atu is on the cards, but those trade numbers are dropping quicker than an outside back named for the Blues.
Embed from Getty ImagesDoesn’t matter which Trell is inside him, AJ just keeps on finding the line in 2026 and there isn’t a shred of evidence to say it is about to slow down!
Souths have had a bit of an up and down month, but the only constant throughout has been AJ scoring tries. Led the way for owners on the weekend crossing for 4, and now has 19 for the year, with the only tryless game coming against the Manly and Fozball – Figures.
He is a premium to own CTW at this time of the year, but what do we keep waiting for?
His last 2 scores weren’t great, coming off a 53 against the Cowboys and the 28 against Manly, and the bye looms but after that it’s the Eels, an Origin depleted Panthers, Knights and Raiders over the next month, could we see at least 2, maybe 3 100+ games? The Rabbits don’t have another bye after next week so its high time to jump on the games greatest scorer.
There aren’t really any defensive heavyweights incoming, so his floor could be 50
And hey. If he doesn’t score it will probably drop out anyway!
Embed from Getty ImagesIn fact it’s the opposite of a Mayday call.. Owning Terrell and Taylan is not cause for concern, but one of celebration.
There’ll be no need for the rescue party owning this pair!
Taylan returned from his second injury layoff and immediately got to work. Scored a try and set 2 more up, he was the main focal point of the Tigers left edge and finished the afternoon with 98. Great POD own, although I would be planning for the next injury, especially with that shoulder.
It might be a case of enjoying the own while it happens, because it could be gone before you know it!
Dolphins, Knights then Dragons it’s a great month to own and they don’t have a bye till Round 23.
And Terrell just knows his worth. FRF gold, lock him in and sit back and enjoy. No need for a Haas he is doing what Haas can do and on a weekly basis. Obviously not high on Laurie’s radar, he finished the afternoon with 101 points, a blessing for those who missed Herbie as their C/VC.
Since Round 4 he has scores of 77 and above.. Premium for a reason. He becomes a captain choice week in week out now and with a sniff of an attacking stat, could go 120,130.
Embed from Getty ImagesHe isn’t the second coming, and he certainly is no Cleary or Hynes, but at this time of year, the best ability is availability!
And Campbell has that in spades.
Most popular trade in for the weekend and beyond and he did a job, might have wanted a bit more out of him but its probably on par with what we have bought. Like going to the shops and buying devon expecting it to be Christmas Ham.. You get what you pay for.
I’m not exactly saying he is devon, but when Nicho and Cleary are putting in 100+ scores on the reg, its an easy comparison to make.
Solid for the afternoon with a try and 16 points in goals, he now has rounds of 89, 91 and 70 since being moved to 5/8.
Which is trending well, because the 4 weeks preceding that were pretty dour.
Will play the next 3 weeks, when Cleary and co probably don’t. And should get dual HLF/5/8.. Should.. I don’t make those decisions.
Embed from Getty ImagesAfter the first 2 shellacking’s, I didn’t have the Sharks winning 10-8 anywhere near my mind coming into Saturday!
Treated to one of the better games, the 2 sides traded blows until Tricky Trindall landed a monster field goal to land the Sharks an unlikely win,.
Plenty of our Supercoach studs were getting about, and Ford got through his usual work, but only finished with 72, which ended ed up being a Warriors high.

Again, no attack for him, and that has dried up of late but a thousand tackles and runs through the middle, it’s an easy watch and own. Might not have the offload or ceiling of May, but owning both is a luxury.
TMM showed again why he has jumped Metcalf in the rankings, scoring a try and sheparding his side around the park. Still time to jump on, because in the blink of an eye he will be upwards of $550k.
Laban now is playing 80 and will be coming into my side next week
Iro didn’t see much ball and now has an average of 58 since scoring about 18 tries in 2 weeks. Sell?
Embed from Getty ImagesFeel for our brethren and sisteren who jumped on AKP!
Left the field after half time with a bad cork and did not return. Scored only 12, despite making some big carries coming out of their end.
Supercoach is about trusting your gut and trading in guys who you love to watch. He ticks those boxes because he has been pretty good this year.
And if he plays 150 dd game she will probably surpass AJ for the try scoring record!
Bit unlucky, but there will be a game where he scores 3 r more and ill happily write about it then!
There couldn’t have been many who ran with a AKP & KPP combo for the weekend could they? Hey Clem? Clem?
