NRL Supercoach Final Word | Round 24 trades and skippers

Well, that’s another round in the books. Another round where you’re either feeling hopeless and dejected from the world of SuperCoach or amped up and excited for what a finish full of restings and injury chaos might be able to conjure up.

For Turbo Irvo in 6000th, it’s actually been a remarkably good H2H season in which I’ve now made the prelim finals in most leagues after a decent 1400+ score last week.

With no trades left, I’m just gonna have to sit on my hands and hope that I have the depth and firepower to take me home in H2H. 

For teams that remarkably still have trades and therefore still have hope, I salute you.

After what we saw from Dominic Young (145) and Alex Johnston (132) being the top scorers in last week’s round, I think it’s fairly clear that if you can snag the in-form CTW or two for the run home, then you’ve probably done about as much differentiation as you can from those around you without going for totally inferior positional players. 

In saying that, it’s still clear some guys are still the cream of the crop at CTW and shouldn’t be avoided just for the sake of it.

One of those guys is Jacob Kiraz, who now seems to be back in the thick of the action for the Bulldogs, who are fighting to keep their finals hopes alive. 

Souths, Dragons, Penrith and Broncos are the draw, which could be basically dead rubbers in nearly all of them past this week.

If Kiraz goes on a tackle-busting and offloading rampage, you will get hurt, and there’s no two ways about it.

Massive news again out of the Roosters this week with Tedesco not named to play again.

This pushes Cody Ramsay to fullback and therefore pushes Marky Mark’s SuperCoach points out the door.

It’s a shame, but you’ll probably have to just hold your Roosters through this period if you want to be competitive at the end.

Sit vs Starts becomes more crucial than captains right now, as everyone has it camped on Nicho Hynes every game, and nobody else is providing loopable scores with the VC.

So yes, Marky is a possible sit tonight against the Panthers if you’re an owner, but the bolder and more aggressive move would be to play him with confidence.

There’s no other game this round that I can really identify as one viable for sits vs starts chat, as they all have a little bit to play for and should all offer up some competitive matches with attacking stats.

If it really came down to it, I wouldn’t be against sitting Jayden Campbell against the Knights to try to find a safer 80pts elsewhere.

Though with Toby Couchman reportedly coming off the bench, it may be easier said than done to find that. 

VC is going on Isaako or Farnworth as per usual.

One of them is gonna pop off for a 140+ score sooner or later, and I wanna catch it, because let’s be honest, anything less isn’t a loop when Hynes is going 100 in his sleep most weeks.
