AFL Supercoach 2026: Power Rankings – Finals Week 3

Only six teams remain.

It’s semi semi-final weekend and the race for this year’s premiership is really heating up. 

I posted a score of 1223 this week, which saw me climb a couple of thousand ranks into the top 14k, but that’s a pretty yuck rank.

Let’s take a look at the best players to pick on each line in week three of the finals series.

DEFENDERS

1. Dayne Zorko
2. Max Holmes
3. Wayne Milera
4. Tom Stewart
5. Jordan Clark
6. Josh Worrell

Despite a heavy defeat against the Swans, Brisbane veteran Dayne Zorko found plenty of the footy and posted a great score of 105 SC points. He’s so crucial to the way the Lions move the ball and will be integral to Brisbane’s chances of a win against the Crows.

I was really big on Geelong star Max Holmes last week, but that blew up in my face. The dashing Cat played just 60 per cent game time and didn’t have the same influence he usually does, which in hindsight I should’ve absolutely seen coming. I didn’t mind taking the risk, but when others absolutely stunk it up it ended up really hurting.

All-Australian Crow Wayne Milera has had a fantastic 2026 campaign and continued that strong form in the elimination final against the Dogs, posting a whopping 136 SC points. The Bulldogs were a positive matchup last week for designated kickers, but the Lions are the toughest in the League.

That’s the same reason I’ve got Josh Worrell down in sixth on these rankings, despite an exceptional outing against the Dogs where he was at his intercepting best.

Docker Jordan Clark was one of a few winners against the Hawks, but I just can’t bring myself to pick him after his mediocre 2026 where he hurt me all season.

Geelong veteran Tom Stewart is also worth mentioning after a great 113 SC points against the Blues. Stewart is a big game performer and will need to be at his best if the Cats can knock off the Dockers out west. I do get worried about the possibility of some extra attention, though.

MIDFIELDERS

1. Izak Rankine
2. Bailey Smith
3. Will Ashcroft
4. Jordan Dawson
5. Lachie Neale
6. Caleb Serong
7. Andrew Brayshaw
8. Josh Dunkley

I battled with my midfield picks last week, but I think it’s far more simpler this time around. Izak Rankine picks himself, the form he is currently in is just incredible. In his past three games he’s averaging 151.7 SC points and 167.2 over his last five. That’s a captaincy worthy form line.

Bailey Smith was solid without shooting the lights out against the Blues, but did have some close attention at different stages, which I don’t think the Dockers will bother with.

A couple of the Lions boys in Will Ashcroft and Lachie Neale will be hoping to bounce back after below par performances against the Swans by their lofty standards.

I quite like Adelaide captain Jordan Dawson as an option this week. Dawson loves the big stage and goes where the action is. If the Crows are to cause an upset, he’ll have to be massive.

A pair of Fremantle midfielders in Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw are other options to consider, while Lion Josh Dunkley is built for the big stage. While choosing a flex has been tricky in the first couple of weeks, I think an extra midfielder is definitely your best bet this week.

RUCKS

1. Luke Jackson
2. DAYLIGHT
3. Lachlan McAndrew

Don’t overcomplicate this, Luke Jackson is a no-brainer selection and I’ll be giving him the captaincy armband this week too. The Cats are an unbelievable matchup for rucks this season and Jackson’s at the top of his game right now. A rare shining light in last week’s clash against Hawthorn, I’m backing him in for another score of 140+ this week.

FORWARDS

1. Zac Bailey
2. Shaun Mannagh
3. Murphy Reid
4. Josh Treacy
5. Patrick Dangerfield

Lion Zac Bailey is the proven commodity of this bunch, having averaged 97.2 SC points this year. He has spurts through the midfield, regularly impacts the scoreboard and is one of Brisbane’s most damaging players.

I’m pretty confident in Geelong’s Shaun Mannagh as another great starting option. Mannagh has attended 66 per cent of centre bounces across his last two matches, a huge jump given his lack of midfield time during the home and away season. He’s classy, very creative and can score points in multiple ways.

Fremantle pair Murphy Reid and Josh Treacy had All-Australian calibre seasons this year, but went missing against the Hawks in the qualifying final. Surely they can bounce back.

Rounding out the rankings is Geelong veteran Patrick Dangerfield, who was simply superb in the elimination final against Carlton, booting five goals from 21 disposals.
