NFL Week 3 served up close results across the board, with “witching hour” in full swing for all those NFL RedZone fans out there.
From an NFL Supercoach perspective, it was a slightly quieter week aside from a few monster performances from premium skill-position players.
There’s plenty of action to unpack, but first I just wanted to let you guys know we are trialling a new subscriber-exclusive NFL podcast in the subscriber Discord.

Week 3 Talking Points
3 weeks of NFL action, 3 weeks of TE troubles
The Tight End position is the curse that keeps on cursing.
I remember sitting nicely heading into week 1, with Bowers, Loveland, and Likely sitting at TE, thinking I would barely have to make trades at that position all season.
Fast forward to now: I have already used 2 trades at TE in 2 weeks; my starting TE selections are averaging 6.3 points, and I just fielded Kincaid and Likely for a combined 9 points, while Sadiq sat on the bench with his 40 points…
Genuine shambles. In saying that, we may just have our saviour, going by the name of Brock Bowers.

Averaging 59 and 60, respectively, only trailing Josh Allen. Gibbs and JSN are out of this world.
Through three weeks, Gibbs is averaging 10.7 more points than the next-best running back, while JSN is averaging 19.7 more points than any other wide receiver!!!
Both should be 100% owned in Supercoach and weekly considerations as captaincy options.
Don’t underestimate a change at Quarterback
Michael Penix Jr. made his season debut last week, replacing Cooper Rush as the Falcons’ QB1.
Through two weeks, Atlanta looked like the worst offence in football. Bring in Penix, and the Falcons are putting up a near-full Urban Meyer stat line (250 yards on the ground and 250 in the air).
Bijan EXPLODED for 194 yards on the ground, 2 touchdowns, and a monster 67 Supercoach points.
Drake London once again displayed his next-level chemistry with Penix, going for 194 of Atlanta’s 256 total passing yards, for 47 Supercoach points without a touchdown!

In this section, I will give the latest injury and suspension updates, focusing on the more Supercoach-relevant players.
As always with these things, the information given to the public is not always perfect and can sometimes change quickly.
Reminder that IR refers to Injured Reserve, and players put on the IR will miss a minimum of 4 games.
Jalen Coker (CAR): Suffered a minor quad injury vs Cleveland and is listed as questionable.
Nico Collins (HOU): Missed last week’s game again with a hamstring injury but hopeful to return this week, listed as questionable.
Puka Nacua (LAR): The Rams are hopeful that he can return this week, listed as questionable to play.
Terrance Ferguson (LAR): Reported that he will likely be out this week, listed as doubtful to play.
De’Von Achane (MIA): Suffered a serious knee injury that will rule him out for the rest of the season.
Justin Jefferson (MIN): Suffered a sprained ankle vs Tampa Bay, listed as questionable to play this week.
Travis Etienne Jr. (NO): Suffered a hamstring injury and will miss ‘some time’.
Breece Hall (NYJ): Suffered a minor thigh injury and is considered week-to-week,
Mike Evans (SF): Suffered a rib strain and is considered day-to-day, listed as questionable for this week.
Baker Mayfield (TB): Suffered a thumb injury and is expected to miss three weeks.

Week 4 has a few very exciting games. Game of the week for me is an AFC heavyweight clash between the 2-1 Jaguars and 2-1 Bengals.
Other fixtures that I find intriguing this week are the 1-2 Cowboys vs 0-3 Texans, both desperate for a win, the red-hot 49ers vs the Broncos, and of course, the battle of the undefeated AFC West teams in the Chiefs and Raiders.
From a Supercoach perspective, there are a couple of matchups to potentially target…
The offensive juggernaut of the Ravens play the struggling Tennessee Titans in a game that could turn ugly.
Another game that looks like it may be a points fest is the Lions vs Panthers in prime time.

Breakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.
Prices change based on 3-round averages, and therefore this will be the first week of price rises for players who have scored points in both week 1 and 2.
Generally, when looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they are likely to rise in price.
Similarly, if you have players with high breakevens in your team, it could be time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.

My Trades
Week 3 was a very mediocre week for ‘Will Fries Bag’, as we managed just 504 points and dropped 171 ranks.
Not owning Bijan was what went wrong for me, especially with many people activating their VC loop with him.
Outside of that, my team is looking alright, despite a WR injury return.
It is only early in the week, so here are my preliminary trade thoughts this week…
Firstly, I have a not-owning Bijan Robinson problem, and I think this might have to be the week I address it.
CMC has been solid, but is yet to explode. It feels a bit sideways moving him to Bijan, but I don’t think I can handle the Bijan death-ride for one more week.
Luckily, their prices are almost identical, so it can be done in one trade.
Embed from Getty ImagesMy other trade is contingent on Justin Jefferson injury updates. If he is ruled out, I think I will trade him out, as not only do I not want to play another rookie, but the upcoming week 6 bye is going to spell trouble for everyone with Chase, St. Brown, and Jefferson…(your reminder to check byes!!!)
If I do move Jefferson on, it will probably be for Matthew Golden.
The Packers are in all sorts, the defence without Parsons is non-existent, and they have zero run game. The only thing they can do is air the ball out, and Golden is benefiting from this as he appears to have taken a massive second-year leap.
The young receiver is still just $8m in Supercoach, with a -12 breakeven that should mean even more cash generation is coming.
If you want a more point-scoring-focused move and have a little cash in the bank, I would be looking towards Zay Flowers, Parker Washington, or DeVonta Smith as exciting mid-range POD options.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe last player I want to touch on is Brock Bowers, who made his season debut this past week.
He reminded us just how good he is, exploding for 45 Supercoach points thanks to a monster 10 catches for 116 yards and a TD.
I can’t quite afford him this week, but it is very much a case of when, and not if, I trade him in.
He is straight up playing as a WR under Kubiak, lining up out wide or in the slot on a ridiculous 83% of snaps.
You can bring him in this week, or prepare to bring him in next week. Either way, a healthy Bowers is the best TE in Supercoach.

This week is a great week for captaincy choices, with plenty of the elite Supercoach players with exciting matchups.
I am leaning towards putting the VC on the Supercoach king Josh Allen, in a divisional matchup against the struggling Patriots.
I am most confident in Allen, but a cheeky VC play on Lamar Jackson or Derrick Henry against the struggling Titans is certainly tempting.
With the captaincy, it is a straight shootout between Gibbs and JSN.
I already mentioned just how good both of these guys are, and I really don’t think you can go wrong with either, especially as they both have favourable matchups.
I am currently leaning towards Gibbs, though, as running backs tend to be the safer option over receivers.
