Niko
Former Supercoach AFL runner-up
EPL Supercoach expert Niko (56th last season) gives his best buy, hold, and sell options ahead of EPL Supercoach Gameweek 9
EPLA GW8 score of 112 sees me within touching distance of the top 1k again.
Taking an under-inspiring VC score of 14pts ended up being a great play this week.
I also ended up keeping Jacquet and moving off Bruno F after he was banished to the shadow realm.
As usual with Supercoach, the good came with the bad. I boosted Joao Pedro in and wasn’t awake to see the news of his injury to correct that, so I played one short on top of Palmer, giving me negative for his silly red card.

I think you are buying close to top dollar for him, but he’s in form, as is his team, and all the other midfield options are way less enticing.
William Osula (£4.34M Newcastle FWD, B/E 3)
He finished last season costing £9.2M, and I think he’s heading that way again. He’s quick and a decent finisher, now fully back from injury and cemented as the focal man up top for the Toon.
Likely on penalty duty with Wissa out of the frame too. I rate him, and nobody is talking about him.
Morgan Gibbs-White (£9.14M Nottingham Forest MID, B/E 14)
The breakeven is a tad high, but this is a long-term buy for a guy whose floor is generally good and can have ceiling games with penalty duty.

Kevin Schade (£6.92M Brentford MID, B/E 18)
His minutes are becoming a problem, but I like that he was rested mid-week in the cup loss to Sunderland. One less competition to worry about now too.
Cole Palmer (£7.66M Chelsea MID, B/E 17)
I’m not sure he’s the Batman anymore at Chelsea, but I still want him due to his ceiling and the fact he’s on penalties and that the midfield options are overall pretty dire.

It sounds like a very minor injury issue, but he’s still in some doubt. I personally want to keep the most attacking defender from the best defence in the league.
Luka Vuskovic (£11.08M Brighton DEF, B/E 12)
After City, they have a run of 12 games where I’d be happy to start him. Baseline monster and easy hold unless you’re strapped for cash and need to force it.
Jack Hinshelwood (£8.47M Brighton MID, B/E 12)
I never really saw Jack as a pure cash grab, so I’m holding him for the fixture turn after Man City this week, who, let’s be real, have shipped in the goals anyway.
Started as the number 10 mid-week, with Ayari moving back to the six position. That’s how they started the season, and I think that will be the preferred formation moving forward, which I like.

I’ve already wasted one trade bringing him in, and I don’t want to make that three trades because I’ll want him back when fit.
The key to their goals and success, so I’m holding and hoping it’s two weeks out max. Only the league and FA Cup now for Chelsea.
Nicolas Jackson (£8.54M Aston Villa FWD, B/E -2)
Great to see his career reignited and a nice double in the win over City, but one of them should have been saved.
He seems like an obvious must-buy pick especially with the fixtures, but I’m not buying. He’s over-performed his expected goals to date and is purely reliant on open play goals.

If you’ve been patient and got the trades to flip him in and out to fix another line, I’d strongly consider it. Listen to the guy who held Bruno F when he had this breakeven.
Bruno Fernandes (£9.05M Manchester United MID, B/E 20)
Needs a new manager at this point and I’m not convinced he’ll be around come the January transfer window.

Selling doesn’t get much easier than this. Done what we needed and goodbye, despite still taking some set pieces.
Gonzalo García (£3.97M Fulham FWD, B/E 6)
Not a desperate sell by any means as he’s playing, but if I’m holding JP, I need to have someone else who I want to field and won’t be some point-dodging magician.
