NFL Supercoach expert Oscar Henderson goes through talking points, injuries, breakevens, trades, and more ahead of Week 9
NFLWelcome back to The Blitz. Here we recap the last week of crazy NFL action and look ahead at the week to come, all through an NFL Supercoach lens, of course!
Bengals trio goes BANGGG
Who needs a run game when you have the deadly trio of Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins, am I right???
The Titans vs Bengals game perhaps unexpectedly turned into a shootout and gave the Bengals a chance to really show off their aerial threat.
An outrageous 462 yards for Burrow, including FIVE passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown just to top it off.
Two of those touchdowns to the underrated Tee Higgins and one to Ja’Marr Chase, as the two alpha receivers combined for 21 catches and 296 yards.
Most of us probably just own Chase, and I think there is a real case for doubling, maybe even tripling up on this explosive offence.
The upcoming schedule is tasty, but it really is a massive risk-reward play.

After WEEKS of torture at the hand of the tight-end position, it appears the war may finally be over (please don’t jinx it, Oscar).
It took me half the season, but I finally have the two best tight ends in the game, and wow does it feel good to look at those TE scores from last week.
49 points, 7 catches, 92 yards, and TWO touchdowns for Bowers. 33 points, 7 catches, 72 yards, and a touchdown for McBride.
As I said last week, I feel confident that, injuries aside, these two finish as the highest-scoring TEs in Supercoach.
Jeremiyah is hard to Love
Coming out of Notre Dame, Jeremiyah Love looked like a superhuman, guaranteed to be the next big thing.
The Cardinals, already with a stacked running back room, threw out any sense of positional value and drafted him with the THIRD overall pick, in the hope he would be their face of the franchise.
Now, I am most definitley writing him off long-term, but for this season, he may be a write-off.
He has been dealing with high ankle sprains since preseason; it feels like just not an injury you want lingering as a running back, and it has clearly taken its toll on his explosiveness.
Love reinjured his ankle last week and has been placed on the IR, and just to rub it in, Tyler Allegier exploded for 66 points in his absence…great.

As always with these things, the information given to the public is not always perfect and can sometimes change quickly.
Reminder that IR refers to Injured Reserve, and players put on the IR will miss a minimum of 4 games.
Jeremiyah Love (ARI): As mentioned above, Love has been placed on IR and is expected to miss 4-5 weeks.
Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley (BAL): Both Baltimore QBs have been placed on IR, with the team signing Jacoby Brissett set to come in next week.
Kyler Murray (MIN): Has been ruled out for this week’s game with a hamstring strain; Carson Wentz is set to start in his place.
Christian McCaffrey (SF): Was dealing with a hamstring injury pre-bye, has been a limited participant in training, so is expected to play.
Sam Darnold (SEA): Has been ruled out for this week with a quadriceps injury and is considered week-to-week.

Breakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.
Generally, when looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they are likely to rise in price.
Similarly, if you have players with high breakevens in your team, it could be time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.

Week 8 was an okay week for ‘WillFriesBag’, managing 520 points in a high-scoring week, which helped me gain 100 or so ranks to now sit just outside the top 1k.
Also, for reference, I am writing this during the Jaguars vs Ravens game, so I have already made a move in trading out Derrick Henry.
It just wasn’t meant to be with Derrick Henry since I brought him in. I spoke about it last week, but obviously Lamar Jackson’s health has a massive impact on this.
I held Henry last week, with Lamar’s return, which lasted all of a couple of minutes before he hurt his thumb and now finds himself on IR.
Henry has already leaked so much cash, but it is definitley time to move him on while he still holds some value.
Embed from Getty ImagesI am still undecided on his replacement, but for now I am going with Jonah Coleman.
I am still unsure who I want as my 4th RB for the rest of the season alongside Gibbs, Walker, and Bijan, so I think I am just going to delay making that decision and try to gather some more information.
CMC is probably at the top of my list, but he is expensive, and I am definitley a bit discouraged by this hamstring concern with his extensive injury history.
Instead, I am going with the most popular trade-in of the week Jonah Coleman, and although I missed out on the massive price rise, I don’t think it’s too late at all.
I don’t know how well he will score, but I think he is serviceable in the short term, especially with decent matchups in Carolina and Las Vegas the next two weeks.
Outside of that, I think I am going to hold trades, with over $10m in the bank ready for some premium upgrades next week.
Embed from Getty ImagesCaptaincy options are plenty this week.
Josh Allen vs one of the league’s best defences in the Vikings. Drake Maye in a blockbuster clash vs the Packers.
JSN vs Arizona with Drew Lock at QB, an exact repeat of Week 2, where he scored 76. Gibbs vs a weak Miami side, and K9 vs the Jets also have to be considered.
For me, I am leaning towards VC Gibbs into C Maye.
I like having the captaincy on a QB, as they seem to have the most solid scoring floor, and Gibbs vs the Dolphins screams of a 3-touchdown game from him.
Fading Allen is certainly not an easy decision, and I probably recomend you captain him, but I am a Vikings fan, and I’m not going to captain against my own team!
That’s all from me, good luck for this week!
