Supercoach Big Bash 2026/27 fixture analysis: BBL16 teams to target

We've analysed the Supercoach Big Bash draw for the 2026/27 season to reveal the teams to target and avoid in BBL16

BBL

I genuinely believe this will be the best Supercoach Big Bash season to date.

The reason? The fixtures.

Navigating the Supercoach BBL draw is imperative to success in our great game.

Chasing the double game weeks, dodging byes, looking ahead, it’s all key.

Put simply, if your player has two games in a round, they get double the chance to score for your squad for the corresponding round.

This year, essentially all the double games fall in the first three rounds, including four in round 1.

From round 4 onwards there’s only two more teams on the double and two teams on byes, the only byes for the season.

So what does this mean exactly?

Essentially, in past seasons with doubles prevalent across the entire season, Supercoach teams looked very similar because your trade targets are almost exclusively tailored towards those teams playing twice.

With so many single game weeks from round 4 onwards it should see very diverse Supercoach squads, meaning the best players in the game aren’t all at 80%+ ownership.

You may be able to nab the likes of Mitch Marsh or Marcus Stoinis at 15% ownership.

I’m genuinely excited for the season to come, even more so than the average year.

Navigating the early draw

Round 1 will see the Strikers, Heat, Sixers and Thunder double up on games.

It’s their only double for the season, but they will be priority targets to begin the season.

The Brisbane Heat are the major winners when viewing through a Supercoach lens, getting double games in round 1 and 3.

They are the team to target from the outset to maximise the five scoring opportunities in the first three weeks.

Every team has a double by round 3 latest outside of the Perth Scorchers, making them an early avoid unless we find a player with a truly irresistible role or price.

Round 2 we’ll tailor trades towards Hurricanes and Renegades on the double, then round 3 it’ll be Melbourne Stars players who join the Heat for the double up.

From round 4 onwards it’ll be a free for all, with stacks of single game weeks meaning you can back whoever you rate the most with minimal need to monitor the draw.
