- SQUAD BREAKDOWN: Round 7 team insights
Last week saw some slight improvement for Croker’s Stockmen with a decent score of 1,073 lifting me a few spots into 40k overall.
While there remains plenty of work to do, the signs are positive despite losing Tommy Trbojevic to injury in our clash.
My recruits Jake Averillo and Ryan Matterson both scored really well, however my captain Payne Haas had his lowest score of the year which set me back a fair way.
I’m somehow undefeated in my public league, just a case of doing what we have to do to get a win on the day I suppose.
The form in our SC Playbook league isn’t quite as good, but I am two from four which isn’t anything to complain about.
Onto Round 7 where we’ll hopefully see another rise up the rankings.

A pretty straight forward trade here with the injured Trbojevic shifting out to Kalyn Ponga.
I do have the cash to upgrade to James Tedesco which I’m still considering if we get word he’ll face the Dragons on Friday night after being steamrolled by Maika Sivo.
But I need a strong 17 so I don’t think I can risk recruiting Teddy and him being a late withdrawal.
Ponga has been on fire this year thanks to some quality coaching from Adam O’Brien who has the Knights playing some quality footy.
The quicker game we’re playing since the season has resumed suits Ponga perfectly.
He’s so sharp and has a great ability to make the right decision when peppering a backtracking defensive line.

I was excited when starting the year with Blake, but as it turns out he’s too inconsistent in SuperCoach scoring.
I’d love to hold, particularly with how Parra are playing this year, but I need to free up cash to make some big trades next round.
This trade leaves me $182,700 to play around with next week.
Coates has flourished since getting a start at the Broncos despite the lack of wins on the board.
The Broncos face some easier opposition in coming weeks, and he can go big as he’s such a focal point of their fifth tackle options in the red zone.

My captain will be Ponga against the Cowboys. They’ve been leaking plenty of points this season with injuries not helping their defensive cohesion.
It’s tough to combine with those around you when injuries are forcing frequent changes. Hopefully Ponga can exploit this and get me a big score.
My vice-captain will be Luke Keary who isn’t far off a monster score. He’s looking so sharp in attack and gets his chance against the Dragons.
