Draft Breakdown: Waiver-wire, trade targets

We take a look at the best options to grab from the wires, and look at players to target in a trade with rivals.

Draft Breakdown

All of last week’s targets still remain relevant with decent scores over the weekend, although Hipgrave’s score was disappointing for 80 minutes.

A quick shout out to SST and Butcher who have both benefited from Radley’s injury and should be targeted in all leagues.

This week could be the last week to get an undervalued RTS, as he will likely score 85+ against the Titans.

WAIVER-WIRE TARGETS

Brandon Smith (HOK/2RF)

Brandon started the game at hooker and shifted to lock about halfway through last week’s game.

He was able to score 66 points with 62 in base against a tough Roosters outfit.

It should be noted that Bellamy wasn’t convinced after the game he was the right option at hooker going forward but as long as he is there he should be played in every league.

Reagan Campbell-Gillard (FRF)

RCG has produced two monster scores in the last two weeks coinciding with Nathan Brown being out with suspension.

His increased work rate has been the biggest factor in his recent big scores, scoring at 1.12 and 1.23 PPM the last two weeks.

With Brown in the side he still gets decent minutes, he just needs to maintain the recent increased work rate to be a great option.

Ryan Sutton (FRF)

Sutton played big minutes last week with Canberra’s injury woes and played his best game I’ve seen from an NRL perspective.

Canberra have lost Guler, Soliola and Horsburgh to long term injuries and Ricky has said he will ask his middles to play more minutes.

Sutton should benefit the most from these injuries.

Shane Wright (2RF)

Wright played 80 minutes on the edge the last two weeks for scores of 52 and 45 mainly in base.

Last year when playing 80 minutes on the edge he averaged 56PPG, again all in base.

Euan Aitken (CTW)

Aitken has a 3RA of 54 points with no tries.

Whilst he isn’t in the most prolific scoring team, he has astounding base and can be a relatively safe option, especially against the right matchups.

Cade Cust (5/8)

Cust looked great taking over the 5/8 role last week.

Should he be named there again he is a great plug and play this week against the Dragons.

Last year he averaged 57PPG at 5/8 over seven games.

Tyrone Peachey (2RF/CTW)

Peachey has been awful to start the season.

However, last week he looked heavily involved at centre with a great score.

He is another good plug and play option this week at centre against the Warriors.

TRADE IN TARGETS

Campbell Graham (CTW)

Graham has averaged an impressive 53PPG average.

Since moving to centre his base stats have increased, averaging 41BPG over the last five games.

He recently moved from right centre to left centre outside Cody Walker and should see some increased attacking stats.

Josh Papali (FRF)

As with Ryan Sutton, Papalii will see an increase in minutes with Ricky stating he will ask his middles to play more minutes due to the Raiders’ injuries.

Papalii generally gets better as the season goes on anyway, so this is just another positive.

TRADE OUT TARGETS

David Nofoaluma (CTW)

He is currently the best scoring player in SuperCoach and is a clear cut top CTW.

However, he is at the peak of scores at the moment and now is the best time to get good value for him.

Without Benji and BJ his attacking stats are going to drop.

He will always have enormous base but with a rookie or makeshift centre inside of him it’s going to be hard for him to nab a try or linebreak.
