Declan Creek
2019 SC Classic overall champion
Former NRL Supercoach champion Dez Creek gives his final word ahead of NRL Supercoach round 11, including his trade and skipper plans
NRLAs Origin fast approaches and magic round looms, it’s high time Supercoaches begin counting their numbers for the all-important bye rounds over the next 2 months.
Turbo Irvo managed a respectable 1606 last week, which has me sitting 3694th overall and still well in the hunt for a high ranking this season.
With no boosts left, I’ll have to play good, solid SuperCoach if I’m to continue seeing green arrows on a regular basis.
Bringing in Tolu Koula over Greg Marzhew cost me around 140 pts, which is around 2000 ranking spots by my calculations. This is indicative of just how congested the rankings still are, even after 10 rounds of footy.

It’s these seemingly small or trivial decisions that are really adding up to hurt this season, and I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling the pain.
It feels like a season of constantly chasing after last week’s points and constantly being let down. It’s SuperCoach101 to not chase last week’s points, but honestly, what else is there to do at this point?
You can either target the Dragons/Titans matchups or bring in the form players.
We have potential for some catastrophically large SuperCoach scores this week with the Dragons matched up against the high-flying Panthers.
If Cleary doesn’t get an early shower, then he has serious potential to break Turbo’s high score record in this game.

It’s insane to think Jenkins hasn’t scored in 3 games and is now just 636k with an average of 84 for the season after peaking at 893k a little over a month ago.
If, for whatever reason, you can’t bring yourself to bring in a player with a breakeven that high, then Marzhew and Isaako are the next targets of high priority, with both set for monster price rises over the next few rounds.
Marzhew is an absolute animal and is suddenly averaging just as much as Herbie Farnworth for the season. 700k is a fair price to pay for a guy with a now 200+ ceiling in a Knights side that is beginning to hit its straps.
Embed from Getty ImagesTalking of a side hitting their straps, the Dolphins have looked absolutely lethal over the last few games. The return of JMK really does add a whole lot to that team, with the main beneficiaries being the outside backs. Jack Bostock and Jamayne Isaako are both primed for the picking this week.
Great bye schedule and probably the cheapest you’ll be able to get them over the next month or so. Isaako is averaging 86.8 for the season and is absolutely a CTW keeper with the numbers he is putting up.
If you’re like me and didn’t sell Latrell Mitchell last week with hopes of squeezing one more score out of him, it seems your wishes will be granted with the caveat that he won’t be goalkicking.
This caveat is more than enough for me to cash him in at his whopping 1m+ price tag and bring in Marzhew and Isaako before their price tags get out of hand.
The move to hold Latrell would’ve been wonderful if these two guys hadn’t gone absolutely nuclear last week; however, as I always harp on about, you have to play what’s in front of you.

Sit vs Start begins to come into consideration as well around this time of year. I would suggest always starting your lowest ownership players who have a chance of upside.
For example, this week I’ll be sitting the very high ownership Heilum Luki and Tom Chester against the Roosters, despite how good they have been.
I will be starting Tolutau Koula in the hopes he can explode for a 100+ score at low ownership. Good luck and enjoy Magic round.
