From injury news to breakevens, most traded and captaincy options, here's everything you need to know ahead of NRL Supercoach round 12
NRLMagic Round 2026 has come and gone, and dare I say, from a Supercoach perspective, it was pretty underwhelming.
To be fair, we have been treated to some absolutely insane Supercoach scoring over the last month, so this felt like a real crash back to reality, to where 1300+ was par.
It wasn’t due to a lack of points scored, with six sides scoring 32+ points, but the monster Supercoach scores just did not come.
Moving on, with Origin’s squads named yesterday, we finally have some further clarity on who will and won’t be available for this tough round 12 major bye round.
Let’s just say, some teams may be using all three trades Supercoach has gifted us this week…

Going in chronological order:
An important Sharks bounce-back win led by none other than Nicho Hynes (116). Mulitalo (80) crossed for a double in his first game back from injury. Preston (84) the best for the Dogs.
A big Phins win over the Rabbits led by Supercoach royalty Herbie Farnworth (140). Popular trade in Bostock (85) also impressed once again. Atiken (98) and Duncan (83) the best for the Rabbits.
A Manly demolition led by Ola (130), Saab (130), and Faulalo (126). Terrel May (82) and KPP (80) very solid in a losing side.
Embed from Getty ImagesA low-scoring affair in a narrow win for the Cows over the Roosters. Braidon Burns (113) and Connor Watson (94) led their respective sides. A quiet night for Drinky (55), but nowhere near as quiet as Tedesco (21).
The Storm make it two on the trot with an eventual convincing victory over the Eels. The big boys of Munster (127) and Grant (96) led the way.
The Knights got the job done against the Titans, but it was their right side that led the way this time with Gagai (123) and Young (100) both going big. Oliver Pascoe (99) the shining light for the Titans.
A massive Wahs win over Brisbane, led by DWZ (107) and Erin Clark (85). A quiet afternoon for all Broncos players, with Carrigan (67) top-scoring.
Penrith cruised to victory over the Dragons, led by Jenkins (109) and IPap (101). Cleary (77) undwhelmed as the overwhelmingly most popular captain option of the week. Toby Couchman (94) immense performance despite the loss.

The first major bye round of the year has arrived and will kick off at 7:50pm AEST, Thursday, the 21st of May, with the Raiders hosting the Dolphins.
Round 12 will see SEVEN teams on the bye, including the Broncos, Eels, Knights, Panthers, Roosters, Sharks, and Tigers.
Out of the teams playing, the most obvious matchups to target are the Wahs vs Dragons and Manly vs Titans.

Keep your eyes out for Team Lists on a Tuesday afternoon, where we will know a lot more about most of these injuries.
Remember that players selected for State of Origin will not be playing this week.
Braidon Burns (NQC): Picked up a hamstring injury vs the Roosters and is in doubt for this weekend, awaiting further news.
Jaydn Su’a (STG): Expected to return this week after a lengthy suspension.
Kade Reed (STG): Suffered a hand injury and is expected to miss 2-3 months.
Bradman Best (NEW): Suffered a calf injury in training and is expected to miss the next few weeks.

Latrell Mitchell (STH): Ruled out of Origin 1 due to aggravating lower back issue, timeline unknown for now.
Daniel Tupou (SYD): Suffered a calf strain and is expected to miss anywhere between 2-6 weeks, pending severity.

Taylan May (WST): Re-dislocated his shoulder, awaiting further news, but expected to miss around 6 weeks, if not more, if surgery is required.
Alex Twal (WST): Missed last week due to a knee issue, but is expected to be available next round after the Tigers’ bye.
Embed from Getty ImagesBreakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.
Generally speaking, when looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they will help make your team money.
Similarly, if you have some players with high breakevens in your team, maybe it’s time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.
