AFL Supercoach 2026: Round 15 Wrap – 7 Things We Learnt

We're still none the wiser about forward premiums and the Tristan Xerri conundrum continues, AFL journalist and Supercoach expert Dylan Bolch wraps up round 15

AFL

The round 15 bye was always going to be one of the easiest to navigate this year and thankfully, I’m back trending in the right direction.

A score of 2252 saw me climb back inside the top 2k for the first time since round 3 and I’m now placed 1779.

There’s only one bye week left now thankfully, but the carnage hasn’t stopped.

Here’s what we learned in round 15.

1. Are we sleeping on Murphy Reid?

The Fremantle young gun is well on his way to earning an All-Australian blazer, but I think we’ve been sleeping on him in Supercoach this year.

Reid’s CBA’s have increased over the past month, now up to 43 per cent.

The forward line is tough to read right now, but Reid is one we need to consider, especially when you factor in his five-round average is 101.6.

2. Captain continues to deliver despite Suns woes

Gold Coast are struggling right now, but captain Noah Anderson is an exception.

The star Sun is averaging 124.6 SC points over his past five matches, ranked fourth in the competition.

He’s one we should probably start factoring into our captaincy plans each week given the form he’s in.

3. Rankine return underwhelms

I really didn’t want to jump on Rankine last week, but I did so anyway.

A score of 68 is pretty frustrating, but importantly, the role that we want to see was there.

Rankine attended 74 per cent of centre bounces and spent 76 per cent time on ground.

If not for a poor second half, we’d be speaking more highly of the star Crow this week.

He’s affordably priced at $476k and is only going to get cheaper with a breakeven of 157.

4. What to make of Brent Daniels?

Quantium data analyst Harry West floated Daniels as a sneaky forward option for the rest of the year on last week’s podcast and it’s worth revisiting that discussion again.

While Daniels failed to fire against the Blues with a score of 69, his CBA’s were at 92 per cent, a season-high.

If you’re looking for a cheaper forward premium option, Daniels, priced at just $400k, is worth a look.

5. Power gun enters must-have territory

He’s burned me in the past, but right now, I’m a proud Jason Horne-Francis owner.

The Power star has averaged a whopping 121.7 SC points per game over the past month, becoming a standout forward option.

His midfield minutes are where we want them to be and he’s available for just $521k, so if you don’t own, you can definitely still jump on.

6. Another Tristan Xerri datapoint, another headache

This Tristan Xerri conundrum is beginning to really frustrate me.

A season-low CBA of 10 per cent for Xerri against the Tigers, but he still scored well posting 106 SC points.

It’s the second consecutive week where the role hasn’t been ideal, but it’s not stopping him.

Now with a breakeven of 68, Xerri’s price has bottomed out at $539k.

I had him pigeonholed as my flex option for the rest of the season, but with all this injury carnage, I think I’m going to hold off again and have another look.

7. Injury carnage continues as Sinclair becomes latest casualty

Can we just have a week where the carnage stops please?

St Kilda co-captain Jack Sinclair was the latest casualty on the injury front, going down with a calf injury in the early stages of the Saints’ clash with the Bulldogs.

While the injury report will clearly dictate whether Sinclair is a hold or trade, we’ve got to start thinking about potential replacement options.

The frustrating thing about a potential Sinclair trade, just like with Archie Roberts last week, is that the price has plummeted to $507k.

We’ll talk about replacements in depth on the podcast this week, but my early thoughts are that the likes of John Noble, Luke Parker and Nick Blakey are great replacements, while Sinclair’s teammates in Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera and Callum Wilkie are also options post-bye.
