NRL Round 19 team lists: Full squads + NRL Supercoach analysis

2019 NRL Supercoach winner Dez Creek analyses the NRL squads for the round 19 fixtures with in-depth Supercoach analysis

NRL

It’s been a long minute since I’ve written the TLT article for the Playbook but we can all agree Timmy has earned himself a few weeks off after putting in a multi-year shift.

The good news is the bye rounds are over. The bad news is it’s origin game 3 tomorrow night so a lot of what’s written here is just guesswork until we know the full extent of the almost inevitable carnage that unfolds from that game.

I’ll save some chat for final word, but Turbo Irvo knocked out 950 and still sits around the 3900th overall mark – with 7 trades left it’s looking less than ideal for a final push towards a triple digits rank.

Without further ado let’s take a look at the NRL Supercoach analysis for Round 19, with squad lists courtesy of Fox Sports.

TIGERS v WARRIORS

Friday, 8:00pm, Campbelltown Sports Stadium

Tigers: 1. Jahream Bula 2. Sunia Turuva 3. Heamasi Makasini 4. Starford To’a 5. Jeral Skelton 6. Jarome Luai 7. Adam Doueihi 8. Terrell May 9. Josese Lanyon 10. Bunty Afoa 11. Samuela Fainu 12. Sione Fainu 13. Alex Twal

Bench: 14. Latu Fainu 15. Fonua Pole 16. Alex Seyfarth 17. Tony Sukkar 18. Faaletino Tavana 19. Charlie Murray

Reserves: 20. Heath Mason 21. Jock Madden 22. Jared Haywood

Analysis: In a huge blow to the Tigers’ finals hopes, skipper Api Koiroisau was added to the injury ward on Saturday in what could be a season ending pec tear. However, it paves the way for Junior Lanyon to start at hooker with Latu Fainu to provide support off the bench.

In better news, Jarome Luai returns from a week off provided he passes his HIA protocols.

Tony Sukkar owners are out of luck as Samuela Fainu returns in the second row forcing Sukkar to the bench.

Alex Twal got through his return without incident and starts at lock once more.

Adam Doueihi remains a good buy for those looking to differentiate from the template halves combo.

Warriors: 1. Taine Tuaupiki 2. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 3. Ali Leiataua 4. Adam Pompey 5. Alofiana Khan-Pereira 6. Chanel Harris-Tavita 7. Te Maire Martin 8. James Fisher-Harris 9. Wayde Egan 10. Tanner Stowers-Smith 11. Leka Halasima 12. Jacob Laban 13. Erin Clark

Bench: 14. Samuel Healey 15. Eddie Ieremia-Toeava 16. Demitric Vaimauga 17. Marata Niukore 18. Luke Metcalf 19. Makaia Tafua

Reserves: 20. Luke Laulilii 21. Mitchell Barnett 22. Kurt Capewell

Analysis: Kurt Capewell and Mitchell Barnett have both been named in reserves and are likely set for a rest due to the two-day turnaround.

JFH and Leka Halasima return to the starting lineup, and Alofiana Khan-Pereira returns on the left wing, which sees Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad shift to the right with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak missing out due to a hamstring injury.

Taine Tuaupiki remains a great POD for the run home as Warriors look to stay put towards the top of the ladder.

DOLPHINS v SHARKS

Saturday, 3:00pm, Kayo Stadium

Dolphins: 1. Trai Fuller 2. Jamayne Isaako 3. Jake Averillo 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Tevita Naufahu 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Brad Schneider 8. Felise Kaufusi 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Francis Molo 11. Connelly Lemuelu 12. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki 13. Morgan Knowles

Bench: 14. Kurt Donoghoe 15. Ray Stone 16. Tom Gilbert 17. Sebastian Su’a 18. Brian Pouniu 19. John Fineanganofo

Reserves: 20. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 21. Selwyn Cobbo 22. Jack Bostock 23. Max Plath 24. Thomas Flegler

Analysis: Selwyn Cobbo, Tom Flegler, Max Plath, Jack Bostock and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow have all been named in reserves but are more than likely to backup as long as they survive the trip to Suncorp Stadium for Origin.

Brad Schnieder is locked in at halfback as Isiaya Katoa remains sidelined for about a month with a dislocated wrist.

Herbie Farnworth came crashing back to planet earth as the week’s most captained player, however I expect a quick bounce-back to his regular scores of 80+ as you simply can’t keep his greatness leashed.

Jamayne Isaako remains in my top 7 CTW for the run home, but definitely saw less ball without Katoa in the side.

Sharks: 1. William Kennedy 2. Sione Katoa 3. Jesse Ramien 4. KL Iro 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Braydon Trindall 7. Nicho Hynes 8. Thomas Hazelton 9. Jayden Berrell 10. Jesse Colquhoun 11. Billy Burns 12. Teig Wilton 13. Cameron McInnes

Bench: 14. Hohepa Puru 15. Siosifa Talakai 16. Oregon Kaufusi 17. Tuku Hau Tapuha 18. Mawene Hiroti 19. Samuel Stonestreet

Reserves: 20. Niwhai Puru 21. Briton Nikora 22. Blayke Brailey 23. Addin Fonua-Blake

Analysis: Briton Nikora, Blayke Brailey and Addin Fonua-Blake have all been named in reserves but will likely be moved into the starting lineup if they make it through origin unscathed.

Nicho Hynes knocked out an easy going 86 which included 2 try assists. Three missed conversions let VCers down as he couldn’t crack the ton, but nonetheless looks an absolute must have for the run home.

KL Iro scored 66 which included 20 tackles, 4 tackle busts and 21 runs and incredibly now sits at $577.5k, his cheapest price of the season. A perfect time to buy for those who are looking for safety with upside in the CTW.

BULLDOGS v RAIDERS

Saturday, 5:30pm, Accor Stadium

Bulldogs: 1. Connor Tracey 2. Jacob Kiraz 3. Matt Burton 4. Enari Tuala 5. Jethro Rinakama 6. Stephen Crichton 7. Lachlan Galvin 8. Max King 9. Bailey Hayward 10. Leo Thompson 11. Josh Curran 12. Jaeman Salmon 13. Harry Hayes

Bench: 14. Kurt Mann 15. Alekolasimi Jones 16. Jack Underhill 17. Lipoi Hopoi 19. Bronson Xerri 20. Sean O’Sullivan

Reserves: 21. Jacob Preston 22. Logan Spinks 23. Jed Reardon

Analysis: Stephen Crichton has been named to backup after Origin at 5/8 with Matt Burton in the centres.

Jacob Kiraz has also been named in a huge boost for owners.

Jacob Preston sneaks onto the reserves and should be back any week now – one to watch out for the run home.

Raiders: 1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Sebastian Kris 3. Simi Sasagi 4. Matthew Timoko 5. Xavier Savage 6. Ethan Strange 7. Ethan Sanders 8. Corey Horsburgh 9. Owen Pattie 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Hudson Young 12. Noah Martin 13. Zac Hosking

Bench: 14. Tom Starling 15. Ata Mariota 16. Josh Papali’i 17. Daine Laurie 18. Chevy Stewart 19. Morgan Smithies 20.

Reserves: Coby Black 21. Jed Stuart 22. Joseph Roddy

Analysis: Corey Horsburgh, Hudson Young and Ethan Strange have been named but will need to make it through Wednesday’s decider.

Simi Sasagi made a successful return in the centres prior to the bye and looks to be cheap for 701.8k given his destructive run averaging close to 90 during the opening 9 rounds of the season.

Dual status makes him a near must for those looking for safety in the CTW.

Second rower Noah Martin returns to the side which pushes Zac Hosking to the middle rotation.

ROOSTERS v EELS

Saturday, 7:30pm, Allianz Stadium

Roosters: 1. James Tedesco 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Billy Smith 4. Robert Toia 5. Mark Nawaqanitawase 6. Daly Cherry-Evans 7. Hugo Savala 8. Naufahu Whyte 9. Connor Watson 10. Spencer Leniu 11. Salesi Foketi 12. Siua Wong 13. Victor Radley

Bench: 14. Benaiah Ioelu 15. Taylor Losalu 16. Egan Butcher 17. Delasalle Vaa 18. Rex Bassingthwaighte 19. Tommy Talau 20. Toby Rodwell

Reserves: 21. Reece Foley 22. Cody Ramsey 23. Reece Robson 24. Sam Walker

Analysis: A heavy Origin hand for the Tricolours — James Tedesco, Mark Nawaqanitawase and Reece Robson for the Blues, plus Robert Toia and Sam Walker for the Maroons – means the exact lineup of their side might not be known until 24-hour cuts on Friday evening.

Teddy, Toia and Marky Mark owners will be thanking the heavens as they’ve been named to start in what looks to be an excellent fixture on paper for the Roosters outside backs.

Whilst Robson and Walker have been named in the reserves, where owners will have to just wait and see.

Eels: 1. Isaiah Iongi 2. Brian Kelly 3. Jordan Samrani 4. Araz Nanva 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Ronald Volkman 7. Mitchell Moses 8. Sam Tuivaiti 9. Tallyn Da Silva 10. Jack Williams 11. Kelma Tuilagi 12. Kitione Kautoga 13. Jack de Belin

Bench: 14. Dylan Walker 15. Toni Mataele 16. Teancum Brown 17. Harrison Edwards 18. Joash Papali’i 19. Charlie Guymer

Reserves: 20. Saxon Pryke 21. Ryley Smith 22. Jonah Pezet

Analysis: Mitchell Moses has been named but as usual carries the usual Origin-week risk.

Jonah Pezet has dropped back to the reserves.

Ronald Volkman lit up for his first ton of the season, which included 13 runs and 6 tacklebusts.

The next three games being Roosters, Bye, Penrith are enough to steer me clear of this obvious trap and all Eels players in general.

RABBITOHS v KNIGHTS

Sunday, 2:00pm, Accor Stadium

Rabbitohs: 1. Matthew Dufty 2. Dayne Jennings 3. Tallis Duncan 4. Jack Wighton 5. Campbell Graham 6. Jayden Sullivan 7. Ashton Ward 8. Tevita Tatola 9. Brandon Smith 10. Keaon Koloamatangi 11. David Fifita 12. Euan Aitken 13. Cameron Murray

Bench: 14. Lachlan Hubner 15. Jamie Humphreys 16. John Radel 17. Liam Le Blanc 18. Jye Gray 19. Latrell Siegwalt

Reserves: 20. Edward Kosi 21. Thomas Fletcher 22. Peter Mamouzelos

Analysis: Cameron Murray has been named as long as he survives Wednesday for the Blues.

Matthew Dufty comes in as fullback to replace Jye Gray who has been relegated to the bench.

Alex Johnston is likely facing just one more week on the sidelines with a calf issue.

Campbell Graham returns this week as he has overcome his own calf issue.

Tallis Duncan and Keaon Koloamatangi remain the only two real players of interest for me in this side. Both get through mountains of work and will continue to average 70+ till seasons end.

David Fifita would be of interest but he was replaced after just 55mins in a blow for new/prospective owners.

Knights: 1. Kalyn Ponga 2. Dominic Young 3. Dane Gagai 4. Bradman Best 5. Greg Marzhew 6. Fletcher Sharpe 7. Dylan Brown 8. Cody Hopwood 9. Phoenix Crossland 10. Trey Mooney 11. Dylan Lucas 12. Jermaine McEwen 13. Mathew Croker

Bench: 14. Sandon Smith 15. Tyson Frizell 16. Lachlan Crouch 17. Thomas Cant 18. Harrison Graham 19. Fletcher Hunt

Reserves: 20. Francis Manuleleua 21. Tyson Gamble 22. Kyle McCarthy

Analysis: Kalyn Ponga and Bradman Best will both need to get through the decider unscathed, but have been named.

KP and Best will both be huge ins for the struggling Greg Marzhew, whose output has been down massively of late. Hold and keep the faith for mine.

Fletcher Sharpe has been looking ever more lively as the season goes on and is 100% the biggest upside 5/8 to own for the run home.

Injured Jacob Saifiti is replaced by Cody Hopwood, whilst Trey Mooney has overcome a calf issue to retain his starting spot.

MANLY v COWBOYS

Sunday, 4:05pm, 4 Pines Park

Manly: 1. Tom Trbojevic 2. Jason Saab 3. Tolutau Koula 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Lehi Hopoate 6. Joey Walsh 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Taniela Paseka 9. Jake Simpkin 10. Kobe Hetherington 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Ben Trbojevic 13. Jake Trbojevic

Bench: 14. Corey Waddell 15. Nathan Brown 16. Ethan Bullemor 17. Simione Laiafi 18. Josh Feledy 19. Aaron Schoupp

Reserves: 20. Blake Wilson 21. Fletcher Baker 22. Nicholas Lenaz

Analysis: Haumole Olakau’atu and Tolutau Koula have been named but will need to get through Wednesday night incident free.

Both are prime pickups for the run home, as is Tom Trbojevic, who has yet to fully hit his straps but a big score is surely coming soon.

Cowboys: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Braidon Burns 3. Zac Laybutt 4. Tomas Chester 5. Murray Taulagi 6. Jaxon Purdue 7. Jake Clifford 8. Thomas Mikaele 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Jason Taumalolo 11. Heilum Luki 12. Jeremiah Nanai 13. Reuben Cotter

Bench: 14. Soni Luke 15. Griffin Neame 16. Matthew Lodge 17. Coen Hess 18. Sam McIntyre 19. John Bateman

Reserves: 20. Liam Sutton 21. Ethan King 22. Ronald Philitoga 23. Tom Dearden

Analysis: Reuben Cotter, Jeremiah Nanai and Murray Taulagi have all been named to back up from origin pending fitness.

Jaxon Purdue remains at 5/8 for another week, while Tom Dearden joins the reserves.

STORM v TITANS

Sunday, 6:15pm, AAMI Park

Storm: 1. Sualauvi Faalogo 2. William Warbrick 3. Jack Howarth 4. Nick Meaney 5. Manaia Waitere 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Harry Grant 10. Josh King 11. Cooper Clarke 12. Alec MacDonald 13. Trent Loiero

Bench: 14. Tyran Wishart 15. Joe Chan 16. Jack Hetherington 17. Josiah Pahulu 18. Oryn Keeley 19. Trent Toelau

Reserves: 20. Davvy Moale 21. Siulagi Tuimalatu-Brown 22. Gabriel Satrick 23. Hayden Watson

Analysis: Harry Grant, Trent Loiero, and Cameron Munster have all been named to back up after the decider and will just need to survive the incoming Blues onslaught.

In a huge boost for the Storms’ finals hopes, Nick Meaney and Jack Howarth return from calf and quad issues, respectively. Whether Meaney will get the goalkicking back straight away remains to be seen.

The biggest news, however, is the return of Jahrome Hughes, who provides a massive POD option to the Cleary/Hynes halfback template for the final 2 months of the season.

Ativalu Lisati requires surgery and is an immediate sell for owners who have held this long. Alec MacDonald takes the starting spot.

Joe Chan and Oryn Keeley join the the six-man bench.

Titans: 1. Keano Kini 2. Dean Ieremia 3. Jojo Fifita 4. AJ Brimson 5. Phillip Sami 6. Jayden Campbell 7. Zane Harrison 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Oliver Pascoe 10. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui 11. Arama Hau 12. Beau Fermor 13. Chris Randall

Bench: 14. Kurtis Morrin 15. Josh Patston 16. Klese Haas 17. Cooper Bai 18. Sam Verrills 19. Jaylan De Groot

Reserves: 20. Jett Liu 21. Lachlan Ilias 22. Sialetili Faeamani

Analysis: Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Jojo Fifita have been named but will also need to get through Wednesday night unscathed for the Maroons before they’re locked in as starters.

Jayden Campbell and Keano Kini remain the only two Titans of Supercoach interest. Kini has found serious form over the last month and looks a genuine contender with the top dogs at Fullback for the run home.
