Declan Creek
2019 SC Classic overall champion
2019 NRL Supercoach winner Dez Creek analyses the NRL squads for the round 20 fixtures with in-depth Supercoach analysis
NRLAs we head into the final 2 months of the year supercoach ramps up into a frenzy that can only be stopped by crowning a new overall champion.
To crown a champ we must first submit to the will of the supercoach gods and accept and acknowledge that some things in the game are simply beyond our control and if it aint your time then it aint your time.
Speaking of time, I’ve had nothing but time to fix my ranking slide but it simply hasn’t been enough. Turbo Irvo has dropped outside the top 5000 for the first time since the beginning of the year, and with just 5 trades left I’m waving the white flag as far as overall ranking goes.
H2H finals are, however, still on the menu. For this reason I’ll be focusing on H2H with my last trades and hope that some moderate amounts of glory still await me.

PANTHERS v BRONCOS
Panthers: 1. Dylan Edwards 2. Thomas Jenkins 3. Paul Alamoti 4. Casey McLean 5. Brian To’o 6. Blaize Talagi 7. Nathan Cleary 8. Moses Leota 9. Freddy Lussick 10. Lindsay Smith 11. Isaiah Papali’i 12. Liam Martin 13. Isaah Yeo
Bench: 14. Jack Cole 15. Scott Sorensen 16. Liam Henry 17. Billy Phillips 18. Izack Tago 19. Billy Scott 20.
Reserves: Sione Fonua 21. Kalani Leuluai-going 22. Luron Patea
Analysis: The Panthers are basically fully fit after the bye with their Origin stars, as well as Isaiah Papali’i all returning this week.
Nathan Cleary and Thomas Jenkins have stood up as the two must own Panthers all season and I don’t see why this is gonna change anytime until now until round 27. Get them in at all costs or suffer the consequences of multiple 100+ scores over the next 8 weeks.
Casey McLean also back into the team could provide CTW POD chasers something to chase along the road less travelled if he is able to continue his form.

Bench: 14. Ben Hunt 15. Ben Talty 16. Preston Riki 17. Grant Anderson 18. Va’a Semu 19. Hayze Perham
Reserves: 20. Billy Walters 21. Luke Gale 22. Thomas Duffy
Analysis: Payne Haas, Reece Walsh and Pat Carrigan all return to the starting lineup. Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam and Gehamat Shibasaki also return in what could spark some life back into what seems a doomed campaign for the Broncos.
Haas and Xavier Willison seem to be the only two Brisbane players capable of holding their own this season supercoach wise. Haas now has a 3RA of 86 while Willison averages 62.5 B+P in second row games.

Sharks: 1. William Kennedy 2. Sione Katoa 3. Jesse Ramien 4. KL Iro 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Braydon Trindall 7. Nicho Hynes 8. Thomas Hazelton 9. Blayke Brailey 10. Addin Fonua-Blake 11. Briton Nikora 12. Teig Wilton 13. Cameron McInnes
Bench: 14. Hohepa Puru 15. Siosifa Talakai 16. Billy Burns 17. Oregon Kaufusi 18. Tuku Hau Tapuha 19. Mawene Hiroti
Reserves: 20. Samuel Stonestreet 21. Niwhai Puru 22. Jayden Berrell
Analysis: Briton Nikora returns on an edge having rested after Origin 3 with Billy Burns reverting to the bench. Addin Fonua-Blake will also return to the starting side having played off the bench in his side’s big win over the Dolphins.
Toby Rudolf is tipped to return from his knee injury whilst Jesse Colquhoun will need to pass a fitness test after being a late scratching last week with knee swelling.
Nicho Hynes and KL Iro remain the only two cronulla players worth having supercoach wise, however if they keep the sort of level they produced against the Phins then that may open up some more space to take a stab at some outside backs like Ronaldo Mulitalo and Sione Katoa.
Embed from Getty ImagesKnights: 1. Kalyn Ponga 2. Dominic Young 3. Dane Gagai 4. Bradman Best 5. Greg Marzhew 6. Fletcher Sharpe 7. Dylan Brown 8. Tyson Frizell 9. Phoenix Crossland 10. Trey Mooney 11. Dylan Lucas 12. Francis Manuleleua 13. Mathew Croker
Bench: 14. Sandon Smith 15. Lachlan Crouch 16. Thomas Cant 17. Brodie Jones 18. Fletcher Hunt 19. Harrison Graham
Reserves: 20. Kyle McCarthy 21. Elijah Leaumoana 22. Tyson Gamble
Analysis: The Knights welcome back Bradman Best and are close to full-strength. Best’s return at centre sees Fletcher Sharpe named at five-eighth and Sandon Smith reverting to the bench.
After picking up a corked glute, Greg Marzhew will need to pass a fitness test with Fletcher Hunt the likely backup if required. Marzhew is probably a sell either way at this point, we’ve given him enough chances but he simply hasn’t produced the output in base and base attack that we’ve seen from him in past years.

Roosters: 1. Cody Ramsey 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Billy Smith 4. Hugo Savala 5. Mark Nawaqanitawase 6. Daly Cherry-Evans 7. Sam Walker 8. Naufahu Whyte 9. Reece Robson 10. Spencer Leniu 11. Nat Butcher 12. Siua Wong 13. Victor Radley
Bench: 14. Connor Watson 15. Salesi Foketi 16. Egan Butcher 17. Taylor Losalu 18. Rex Bassingthwaighte 19. Tommy Talau
Reserves: 20. Toby Rodwell 21. Benaiah Ioelu 22. Robert Toia
Analysis: Cody Ramsay will start at fullback once more with James Tedesco’s concussion in Origin game 3 still causing lingering problems.
Sam Walker and Reece Robson both return to the starting side with Hugo Savala slotting back in at centre. Nat Butcher is back from suspension and starts in the second row. Robert Toias omission means Billy Smith holds his spot in the team at centre for another week.
Mark Nawaqanitawase remains a popular endgame piece for CTWs and for good reason, an incredibly high ceiling with insane game-winning clutch potential.
Embed from Getty ImagesStorm: 1. Sualauvi Faalogo 2. William Warbrick 3. Jack Howarth 4. Nick Meaney 5. Moses Leo 6. Tyran Wishart 7. Trent Toelau 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Harry Grant 10. Josh King 11. Cooper Clarke 12. Oryn Keeley 13. Trent Loiero
Bench: 14. Gabriel Satrick 15. Jack Hetherington 16. Josiah Pahulu 17. Alec MacDonald 18. Stanley Huen 19. Siulagi Tuimalatu-Brown
Reserves: 20. Davvy Moale 21. Manaia Waitere 22. Hayden Watson
Analysis: Cam Munster and Jahrome Hughes the obvious big omissions, Munster having gone for knee surgery is set to miss the rest of the season. Tyran Wishart takes the spot, however what this does to Fa’alogo output is the bigger concern for most Supercoaches.
Sua Fa’alogo continues to go toe to toe with the biggest names at fullback with his output of recent getting back to what it was at the beginning of the season. In my eyes he’s probably a must have if the Storm really get going and make a late push into the top 8.
Embed from Getty ImagesRAIDERS v RABBITOHS
Raiders: 1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Jed Stuart 3. Simi Sasagi 4. Matthew Timoko 5. Xavier Savage 6. Ethan Strange 7. Ethan Sanders 8. Corey Horsburgh 9. Owen Pattie 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Hudson Young 12. Noah Martin 13. Zac Hosking
Bench: 14. Tom Starling 15. Ata Mariota 16. Josh Papali’i 17. Daine Laurie 18. Savelio Tamale 19. Morgan Smithies
Reserves: 20. Coby Black 21. Joseph Roddy 22. Sione Finau
Analysis: Hudson Young and Ethan Strange return to the starting lineup. Zac Hosking remains starting at lock, with owners praying he can maintain the try scoring rampage he is currently on. The base for Hosking is already elite, so if he can continue to score tries then he will quickly become a near must own.
Simi Sasagi is the only other Raider worth mentioning at this point. Sasagi just has an insane propensity for scoring tries and seems near unstoppable in some games. He could be a great low ownership option for the elite ranked teams to differentiate from their peers for the final two months.
Embed from Getty ImagesRabbits: 1. Matthew Dufty 2. Alex Johnston 3. Tallis Duncan 4. Jack Wighton 5. Campbell Graham 6. Cody Walker 7. Ashton Ward 8. Tevita Tatola 9. Brandon Smith 10. Keaon Koloamatangi 11. David Fifita 12. Euan Aitken 13. Cameron Murray
Bench: 14. Jye Gray 15. Lachlan Hubner 16. Liam Le Blanc 17. Jamie Humphreys 18. Latrell Siegwalt 19. Bronson Garlick
Reserves: 20. John Radel 21. Thomas Fletcher 22. Edward Kosi
Analysis: Cody Walker is back from suspension and replaces Bud Sullivan at five-eighth. Alex Johnston returns on the wing after replacement Dayne Jennings suffered a nasty laceration in-game.
Matt Dufty starred at fullback after displacing Jye Gray and is named to start there again. Latrell Mitchell is targeting a Round 21 return for those saving cash this week and wondering what to spend it on next week. Trell is the answer.

Warriors: 1. Taine Tuaupiki 2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 3. Ali Leiataua 4. Adam Pompey 5. Alofiana Khan-Pereira 6. Chanel Harris-Tavita 7. Te Maire Martin 8. James Fisher-Harris 9. Wayde Egan 10. Mitchell Barnett 11. Kurt Capewell 12. Jacob Laban 13. Erin Clark
Bench: 14. Samuel Healey 15. Tanner Stowers-Smith 16. Demitric Vaimauga 17. Leka Halasima 18. Eddie Ieremia-Toeava
Reserves: 20. Marata Niukore 21. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 22. Luke Metcalf 23. Makaia Tafua
Analysis: James Fisher-Harris got through his return last week and is named in the front row again alongside the returning Mitch Barnett.
Kurt Capewell also returns in the second row which sees Jacob Laban shift to the bench.

Dragons: 1. Clinton Gutherson 2. Setu Tu 3. Mathew Feagai 4. Valentine Holmes 5. Tyrell Sloan 6. Daniel Atkinson 7. Kyle Flanagan 8. Loko Jnr Pasifiki Tonga 9. Damien Cook 10. Toby Couchman 11. Dylan Egan 12. Hamish Stewart 13. Ryan Couchman
Bench: 14. Jacob Liddle 15. Luciano Leilua 16. Josh Kerr 17. Jacob Halangahu 18. Moses Suli 19. Lyhkan King-Togia
Reserves: 20. Emre Guler 21. Christian Tuipulotu 22. Jacob Webster
Analysis: Fresh off the bye, the Dragons welcome Moses Suli back from injury. This sees Matt Faegai shifted back to the left wing with Tyrell Sloan picking up a hamstring injury in their last start.

Bulldogs: 1. Connor Tracey 2. Jacob Kiraz 3. Matt Burton 4. Enari Tuala 5. Jethro Rinakama 6. Sean O’Sullivan 7. Lachlan Galvin 8. Max King 9. Bailey Hayward 10. Leo Thompson 11. Jaeman Salmon 12. Jacob Preston 13. Harry Hayes
Bench: 14. Kurt Mann 15. Josh Curran 16. Jack Underhill 17. Lipoi Hopoi 19. Marcelo Montoya 20. Gordon Chan Kum Tong
Reserves: 21. Viliame Kikau 22. Jed Reardon 23. Stephen Crichton
Analysis: After coming off the bench last week, Jacob Preston is expected to be named to start in the second row. Preston definitely has huge game-breaking potential supercoach wise and this is not a bad game to jump straight on him to hope for some big attacking output.
Stephen Crichton has been named in reserves but may slide into the team late, one to watch.
Embed from Getty ImagesTigers: 1. Jahream Bula 2. Sunia Turuva 3. Heamasi Makasini 4. Starford To’a 5. Jeral Skelton 6. Jarome Luai 7. Adam Doueihi 8. Terrell May 9. Jared Haywood 10. Fonua Pole 11. Samuela Fainu 12. Sione Fainu 13. Alex Twal
Bench: 14. Latu Fainu 15. Ethan Roberts 16. Alex Seyfarth 17. Josese Lanyon 18. Faaletino Tavana 19. Kit Laulilii
Reserves: 20. Junior Tupou 21. Javon Andrews 22. Apisai Koroisau
Analysis: Out: Bunty Afoa (front row)
In: Ethan Roberts (bench), Faaletino Tavana (bench), Kit Laulilii (bench)
Changes: Josese Lanyon (hooker to bench), Fonua Pole (bench to front row), Jared Haywood (bench to hooker)
Twal and Terrell still the only Tigers worth touching supercoach wise. If Doueihi can finish the season well he may come into considerations for endgame.

Titans: 1. Keano Kini 2. Dean Ieremia 3. Jojo Fifita 4. AJ Brimson 5. Phillip Sami 6. Jayden Campbell 7. Zane Harrison 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Oliver Pascoe 10. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui 11. Arama Hau 12. Beau Fermor 13. Chris Randall
Bench: 14. Kurtis Morrin 15. Josh Patston 16. Klese Haas 17. Cooper Bai 18. Sam Verrills 19. Lachlan Ilias
Reserves: 20. Michael Molo 21. Jaylan De Groot 22. Sialetili Faeamani
Analysis: Cooper Bai picked up a shoulder knock in Round 19 but isn’t expected to miss anytime.
Keano Kini and Jayden Campbell continue to pile on the attacking stats and remain decent PODs for the run home if the Titans can continue to remain competitive.
Embed from Getty ImagesManly: 1. Tom Trbojevic 2. Jason Saab 3. Tolutau Koula 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Lehi Hopoate 6. Joey Walsh 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Taniela Paseka 9. Jake Simpkin 10. Simione Laiafi 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Ethan Bullemor 13. Jake Trbojevic
Bench: 14. Josh Feledy 15. Nathan Brown 16. Kobe Hetherington 17. Jackson Shereb 18. Nicholas Lenaz 19. Blake Wilson
Reserves: 20. Aaron Schoupp 21. Fletcher Baker 22. Onitoni Large
Analysis: Ben Trobjevic is unavailable after suffering a concussion in Round 19. Ethan Bullemor starts on the edge to replace him.
Tom Trbojevic continues to look likely without dropping a monster score just yet, owners couldn’t ask for a better matchup than this for that score to come.
Embed from Getty ImagesDOLPHINS v COWBOYS
Dolphins: 1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 2. Jamayne Isaako 3. Jack Bostock 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Selwyn Cobbo 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Brad Schneider 8. Thomas Flegler 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Francis Molo 11. Connelly Lemuelu 12. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki 13. Morgan Knowles
Bench: 14. Kurt Donoghoe 15. Max Plath 16. Tom Gilbert 17. Felise Kaufusi 18. Tevita Naufahu 19. Sebastian Su’a
Reserves: 20. Brian Pouniu 21. Trai Fuller 22. John Fineanganofo
Analysis: The Cavalry are back for the Dolphins with Hamiso Tabui-Fidow, Selwyn Cobbo and Jack Bostock all named. Bostock will need to pass through concussion protocols to be cleared, but with the game falling 11 sleeps after Origin 3, he is eligible for consideration. Trai Fuller, Tevita Naufahu and Jake Averillo are the players to make way.
Embed from Getty ImagesCowboys: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Braidon Burns 3. Zac Laybutt 4. Tomas Chester 5. Murray Taulagi 6. Jaxon Purdue 7. Jake Clifford 8. Griffin Neame 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Jason Taumalolo 11. Heilum Luki 12. Jeremiah Nanai 13. Reuben Cotter
Bench: 14. Soni Luke 15. Kai O’Donnell 16. Matthew Lodge 17. Coen Hess 18. Sam McIntyre 19. Kaiden Lahrs
Reserves: 20. Liam Sutton 21. Ethan King 22. Tom Dearden
Analysis: Tom Dearden joins reserves and is seemingly still a week away. Scott Drinkwater may pick up kicking duties this week in what could be a huge boost for owners.
