From injury news to breakevens, most traded and captaincy options, here's everything you need to know ahead of NRL Supercoach round 20
NRLJust like that, the bye period for the 2026 NRL Supercoach season has come to an end, and we are now officially on the run home.
With injuries continuing to strike all year, it was a very tricky bye period for most managers, with those who did their bye planning rewarded, and those who didn’t punished.
There are just 8 weeks left of the Supercoach season; in other words, it is officially crunch time.
With trades running so extremely low, every single move is important…

Going in chronological order:
A dominant win for the Warriors, as the Tigers continue their struggles. TMM (107) might just be the best 5/8 in Supercoach, while AKP (99) picked up a double on return. Are Terrell May (71) and Twal (71) falling off as premium options?
NICHO HYNES YOU BEAUTY!!! A record-breaking 196 points for the great man as the Sharks decimated a depleted Phins side. Ramien (125) and Katoa (98) both picked up doubles for big scores as well. A season low of 36 for Herbie, yuck.
A big win for the Raiders, thanks to a hat trick from…Zac Hosking (130)!!?? The young halfback in Sanders (103) also tonned up while Huddy Young (32) was quiet off the bench. Not much to talk about for the Dogs, Kiraz (34) with his lowest score since round 3, funnily enough against the Raiders as well.
Embed from Getty ImagesA win and a hat trick for Tupou (94) to celebrate his milestone game. Outside of that, not much Supercoach relevance in this one; Jack Williams (102) came out as the highest scorer.
The Rabbitohs just held on against Newcastle with the fullbacks leading the way, Dufty (125) just outscoring Ponga (11). Outside of that, it was the 2RFs who stole the show, one of them playing in the centres in Duncan (91), while Fifita (91) and Lucas (100) also had big games.
The Cowboys snuck home in golden point thanks to a Drinkwater (73) field goal and a Braidon Burns (113) double, a serious POD option for anyone searching for one. Ola (90) continues to dominate with another try while it once again felt like a big score gone begging for Turbo (74).
A narrow win for the Storm in a tight affair, with Fa’alogo (78) benefiting from some late points. For the Titans, it was their young spine in Kini (108), Pascoe (89), and Campbell (80) who fought hard.

Round 20 will kick off at 7:50pm AEST, Thursday, the 16th of July, with the Panthers hosting the Broncos.
We are finally back to normal rounds of footy, with eight games and just one team on the bye. This week it’s the Eels who get the rest.
From an NRL perspective, we look to be in store for an exciting week with many close matchups.
From a Supercoach perspective, the matchups to target are probably Penrith vs Brisbane and the Warriors vs Dragons.

Keep your eyes out for Team Lists on a Tuesday afternoon, where we will know a lot more about most of these injuries.
Stephen Crichton (BUL): Suffered an apparent nerve-related injury, with his recovery timeline still very much up in the air.
Jack Bostock (DOL): Suffered a concussion in Origin, but is expected to be named to play on Sunday.
Max Plath (DOL): Suffered an ankle injury, hopefully just a sprain, which would be a relatively quick recovery.
Greg Marzhew (NEW): Suffered a nasty cork to the hip area; should be good to return this week or next.
Euan Aitken (STH): Suffered from reported shortness of breath, but was assessed to be okay, expected to be named.
Dayne Jennings (STH): Suffered a gruesome deep leg cut that will keep him out for at least a week.
James Tedesco (SYD): Suffered a concussion in Origin and will miss this week’s game as well as part of the stand-down period.
Ben Trbojevic (MNL): Suffered a concussion and is expected to miss this week’s game.
Cameron Munster (MEL): Will undergo clean-up surgery on his knee and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
Embed from Getty ImagesBreakevens are the score required for the player to either make money or lose money.
Generally speaking, when looking at who to trade in, heavily consider the players with low breakevens, as they will help make your team money.
Similarly, if you have some players with high breakevens in your team, maybe it’s time to consider cutting ties to ensure your team doesn’t lose too much value.
