NFL Supercoach expert Eden Richards gives his trade plans, captains, and PODs ahead of NFL Supercoach Week 5
NFLWeek 4 was a reminder of just how hard Supercoach can be. I put together my lowest score of the season, limping to 437…
Josh Allen was underwhelming as captain, scoring 38 in a shock loss to the Patriots (go Pats). I thought he was the safe option but I really should have gone with Bijan or Walker.
To make matters worse – Ja’Marr Chase went down injured, Kenyon Sadiq put up a duck egg, Lamar Jackson got hurt, and Dalton Kincaid continued his poor run of form.
It’s got me scratching my head as we head into Week 5. I’m going to have to make trades, and I’m very close to using a boost. Let’s get into my trades below.

Firstly, apologies if you brought in Sadiq. All signs were pointing to him continuing his hot run of form, and I’m as disappointed as you are.
I have another tight end in my sights this week, with Brock Bowers looming as the buy of the week.
Bowers has hit the ground running, putting together scores of 45 and 35 since returning from a knee injury.
The Raiders are basically using him as a wide receiver, and this means POINTS. He’s averaging 12 points per game more than any other TE in Supercoach and is set to skyrocket in price after this week’s clash with the Patriots.

Buying Bowers means unfortunately I’ll have to trade Kincaid this week. It’s frustrating because I only brought him in a couple of weeks ago, but he’s been horrible over those two games.
He’s scored 5 and 2, blowing his BE out to 52. It means he could lose $2 million in value this week, and I just have to sell him to stop the bleeding.
Luckily, Bowers is the perfect replacement, and I urge all Kincaid owners to make the straight swap.

“There is still a realistic chance Lamar Jackson plays this week.”
For that reason, I’m holding for now. However, if he is ruled out, he is in my flex, and I will be forced to trade. Keep an eye on social media leading into the game if you’re an owner.
The other trade I will be making is Ja’Marr Chase for Nico Collins. Chase is in concussion protocol and looks set to miss Week 5.
Embed from Getty ImagesNormally I’d hang onto him for the week and bench him, but he is also going to miss Week 6 due to a bye.
That’s two weeks with no Chase, and I just can’t cover him. I’ve got Jalen Coker on a bye already this week, plus there are doubts around Justin Jefferson’s availability, so I need to make a call, and I think this is the smartest option.
In saying that, if Chase does somehow play this week, I’ll probably be reversing this trade!
I do think it’s an ideal week to bring in Nico Collins. He has scores of 35 and 54 this year and is set for a big price rise after this week. His BE of -10 keeps staring me right in the face and I’d hate to miss the boat.
For now, Chase is the way I get Collins in, but this could still change…
Embed from Getty ImagesI’m starting to get frustrated with Josh Allen.
That’s two weeks in a row I’ve put the C on him and he’s been underwhelming. I might have to look elsewhere…
Who am I kidding? I still believe in you, Josh. However, this week is an ideal week to VC loop, and it gives me options.
I’m going to put the VC on Jahmyr Gibbs against an average Cardinals lineup. If he scores well, I’ll leave the VC and captain Kenneth Walker – who, of course, is not playing.
It’ll mean Gibbs’ score will double and I’ll also get Jeremiyah Love’s score on my bench.
If Gibbs underperforms, I’ll move the C onto Allen on Tuesday. With the Bills facing the Rams in a primetime blockbuster.
Here’s hoping Gibbs goes big and I won’t have to put my trust in Allen again!

This could be a bit of a reach, but I do understand why some coaches are bringing in Jalon Daniels.
Baker Mayfield is out for 3-6 weeks with a thumb injury, and that means Daniels has the starting job at the Bucs for the foreseeable future.
He has a BE of -6 and will make you some money, although I’d keep your expectations to a minimum.
If you’re frustrated watching Mendoza or Beck sit on your bench as DNPs, then I can understand trading in Daniels so you can at least make some money at the QB position.
I’m sticking with Mendoza for now, but I don’t blame you if you make the trade.
Embed from Getty ImagesNico Collins (WR) – $16,350,000 – 2.6% owned
I wrote about Nico Collins earlier, but I seriously think his ownership needs to be at least 10x the 2.6% it’s currently at.
Collins is a certified stud and is so underpriced at his current quote. He changes the whole look of Houston’s offense, and he’s only going to get better as his fitness improves.
He has 193 yards and three touchdowns in two games this year, and he has a great opportunity to add to his stat sheet against the winless Titans this week.
There are a lot of banged-up wide receivers getting around at the moment, and Collins looms as a great replacement for anyone missing the next couple of weeks.
This is the week you need to buy him. You won’t be able to afford him in a couple of weeks and you’ll be looking back thinking what could have been…
